Their accounting is Horrible!No wonder MECU wants people to go through a Dispute process.Use other Banks, not MECU.They can't comprehend.On 6/7/23 at 2:33 pm, i made a Payment on an account that brought my Principal Balance to $1,646.73.I called to get a Payoff for the SAME DAY which was $1,647.68.On 6/7/23 (Same Day as 1st Payment) I made the FINAL payment of $1,647.68.My receipt shows a NEGATIVE Balance of - .95.These reduculas people sent me a bill for .95.Where did you apply the .95 credit I paid on the Payoff date?Are these people working from home and simply Don't care?I don't get it.I even took my receipts to the Headquarters and U can't believe it takes them this long to correct .95.Now, they tacked in a $10.00 feeCrooks!Will NEVER use my MECU accounts again.How many others are getting ripped off?

One star only because there’s no “0”option! Reported my debt card lost a month ago and was told today MECU has been experiencing debt card shipping issues for over a month or so. This issue is an on going issue which MECU holds no real solution for the cardholders in need of a replacement debt card. Let’s get another vendor to correct this and satisfy your faithful members of MECU!

Incompetent staff, antiquated computer systems, etc.. I hear that other branches may be better, but we can’t speak from personal experience on that.

Worst experience I’ve ever had! Would give 0 stars if I could. I had my car loan through them and every single month there was an issue. First, they charged me a month early and I had an overdrawn acct. 2nd month they charged me 2x. I told them to keep the money as a credit for the next month. 3rd month, they charged me 2x again. 4th month was my final payment bc my car was hit and it was a total loss. Their insurance paid all but a month’s worth of payment. I was told at the bank when I went to make my final payment that I could make a partial payment as it was going to be my last payment (bc of the total loss). I asked her if she was sure and asked if it would be considered late and she said “No” it was fine. I’m in the middle of moving and that gets experience so I said ok. Well now my acct is at collections!! I got a call this morning and Mecu said there was nothing they could do and it was my fault for not just paying the full amount and why would I go on what the banker said?? Really?!?! So bc the banker was wrong and doesn’t know her job it’s my fault??? Seriously, DO NOT OPEN ANY kind of ACCT WITH THEM!! You will have nothing but problems and will end up hurting your credit instead. Even if they offer a lower interest rate- go with someone else! It’s not worth it. My 100% on time payments on my entire credit history is gone bc of Mecu.

This branch can be so unprofessional. I walked in the other day to get a temporary debit card. While being approached to get help there was no friendly greeting. A skinny girl with appear to be little dreads or natural hair like hairstyle was at the glass window, just so grumpy looking. I don’t understand how people can be this way when they are the face of the company, the first faces customers see when they walk in the door and the only thing you can offer a customer is a blank stare with a serious face as if we did something to you. Please get it together before you lose out on customers. This is unacceptable.

Worst bank ever, if you use this bank they are only good for the bare minimum if that, they are quick to add a fee even if you add money to your account within 5 minutes to cover the transaction. They also recently had some type of data breach , I only know because my cousins girlfriend also banks with them and she told me ! Her bank account was affected and cause her a lot of issues with her debit card. I had to reach out to customer service via the mobile app just for verification that they did have a a data breach and make sure my account was not affected. I got a simple “your account” was not affected , no apologies for not communicating to all members or anything, SECU is a way better bank ! I am in the process of closing my account

Your banking institution is a joke. Your emoloyees lack common sense and competence. Their lack of just general understanding is beyond frustrating. Something that should take a couple minutes gets drawn out to 30+ minutes.Your staff could truly benefit from some training in general math as well as how paying things off works. If I give you too much money you owe me money not the other banking institution.Your banking system is also beyond frustrating, something is always down. You don’t accept electronic fund transfers for a car payment from a well known institution, and instead insist on paper checks being mailed to you. Despite these checks being mailed out 2 weeks before they are due you don’t seem to get them nor post them in a timely fashionAVOID MECU FOR YOUR CAR LOAN AT ALL COSTS
