Adorable little museum packed with a lot of railroad history, and the last railway car from the late 1800s that used to run from Washington DC to Chesapeake Beach. Standing inside “Dolores” gives a definitive “Polar Express” vibe. QR codes make for easy listening of the detailed history. It’s a little ways off from the main drag through Prince Frederick (about a 20 minute drive) but you won’t be disappointed venturing out here. There is a bay front hotel and a few blocks down a mobility accessible boardwalk along the water leading to an enormous pier to just sit and daydream while the waters of the Chesapeake slap against the pier. A collection of antique shops, restaurants and ice cream parlor line the opposing street of this sleepy little hamlet. Worth checking out!

Very small museum, but had a lot of interesting things. I had no clue it was a resort town.

Very polite staff, knowledgeable, and free! I did not see a bathroom but there is a Rod and Reels resort with a bathroom right across the street.

Not much to see but it was a good side excursion away from the craziness in DC.

Small Free museum. No more than 30min total unless you have kids. They have a bell to ring, mini railway track, and toy train track for kids.

We stumbled upon it trying to find the beach. Upon entering the building we were warmly greeted by Michael. He was sooo kind and took his time to give us a detailed tour. We learned a lot and had a good time. Thank you !
