VISITED Friday, January 26. LunchI have been an infrequent patron of MSAK for a number of years now.To a class years ago on how to make sourdough bread and its history. I’ve bought nummies from here. But this was my first time ordering a meal.Like most of the reviews for MSAK, customer service is fantastic! The women took my order was very welcoming! And I agree, very energetic atmosphere. A symphony of employees doing their work harmoniously. ☺️ ?Now, as stated before, I have purchased a number of items from here and truly enjoyed all of it. However, I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich with chips and although the rb was good it had no flavor. If you’re gonna charge $15, gotta be worth it. The sandwich was bland. And the chips tasted like pork rinds. Not what I wanted to taste. They look appetizing and certainly held their crunch after I had to wait an hour and a half to eat due to a meeting but no bueno. May I suggest a rub, seasoning (s&p?) or an aioli to give some ping, flavor, pizzazz?I’m certainly going to return. Their granola, sourdough & sissa’s sd oatmeal honey bread. Soooo good!

Every time I walk in this place I can feel the positive energy. Folks from all walks of life working together to bring the easiest to digest REAL food to the table at an affordable price. After taking an educational cooking course last fall, I found the knowledge of the staff to be exceptional and truly like no other. Plus, I met some friends I still talk to today! If you want a happy tummy, eat here and fill a bag to go home with you. You can rest assured that the MSAK team took every single step to ensure the most nutrition possible ends up in your meals. Your energy levels will thank you for stopping here for a bite to eat!

The food was mediocre at best. It was kind of bland and over priced. Two sandwiches and two drinks were around $50.

An appreciated find in a small town!Started with some baked goods- A beautiful apple pastry (cheers to that filling! Not overcooked or oversweet) and the tastiest peanut butter cookie: The crumb was perfect on the cookie, with a deep flavor due to it being made with a starter. The sourdough chocolate chip was also rich and dark- very good but it made me realize how much I prefer milk chocolate in my CCCs.I ordered a pumpkin spice latte which was a touch ginger heavy, and they didn't have alternate milks which is always disappointing in place with such quality offerings. The breakfast sandwich I got (bacon, tomato and cheese) was perfect. Their shredded homemade mozzarella was different but much welcomed, and the lamination on the croissant made me so grateful to be eating something well made.Took two fresh loaves to go- they have a small variety (as well as baguettes and bagels) and will slice for you to order. There is also an abundance of unique house-made grab and go pantry/fridge items, as well as their daily menus that change per mealtime.Outdoors seating, charming team members and an open view of the crafting was enjoyable. One star shy due to the lack of now-normal alternate milks.Would 100% recommend to both friends and strangers in the area for the peanut butter cookies alone. All the best xx

Spent a weekend in Chestertown and ate here twice. Preordered pizza for Friday night and we thought it ranked as one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. Enjoyed it so much, we went back for lunch the next day. The owners and staff were very welcoming and nice. Wish we lived closer so that we could be regulars!

Casual spot featuring ingredients made with local biome ingredients, especially yeasts and microbes for fermentation. Attached to local research nonprofit encouraging food studies viewed through archeology and anthropology. Breads are a revelation. Staff was friendly and cheerful, albeit a bit harried. Outdoor seating appears nice, but indoor seating is limited and is hemmed in by the service counter, proofing fridge, and grab and go cases. Our table was uneven and rocked. Would definitely return, but only for carry-out.

Just amazing. We drove from western Howard County, on 4th of July, got stuck in traffic with 2 young kids who are building their patience muscle. MSAK exceeded all expectations, just knocked it out of the park. We're gluten free due to sensitivity and do our best to eat whole foods - no trouble eating the most delicious croissant breakfast sandwiches ever. My husband and daughter (6) both needed more. We also had the sourdough chocolate chip cookies which were out of this world. We're plotting our return, and signing up for Bills courses. Obsessed!

As I entered here I was greeted by very kind/helpful staff, and an open welcoming environment. From plenty seating indoor/outdoor to the visible kitchen and prep area you get a sense of comfort and interest in the food! Although the prices are very reasonable and they have wonderful options for homemade breads, I had the unfortunate experience of ordering the chicken salad sandwich with chips. The chicken salad itself was mostly fine at first glance but the taste itself leaned towards bland and confusing in texture, of which I could almost describe as near puree. The chips which i was told were made in house were simply sadness in little somewhat crispy potato form. I will be coming back here to try other options and hopefully have a better review to give!

I made my way to Chestertown this morning to pick up a few items - Granola, Nix Nacks (2), and Tortilla Chips. Each of these items are so delicious. I add the Granola to my yogurt, and sample the Nix Nacks and Tortilla chips as my snacks.I had a special request to buy some of the nixtamalized dough to bake my own tortilla chips at home. Request was granted!! Once home, I pressed the dough into 24 tortillas, sprinkled salt on some, cayenne on others, and finally mixed in some dried black bean flakes to others. I quartered them and baked in the oven at 400 for about 40 minutes. AWESOME!!I CANNOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH!!. The staff so kind and helpful, answering all my questions. I'm slowly working my way through Dr. Bill's book, Eat Like A Human, learning so much along the way.
