Lots of people say they hate the car-buying experience, but I really mean it. Decades of past bad experiences contributed to that, but AutoNation Subaru has been a refreshing surprise. After I reached out through their website expressing interest in a new vehicle that was in transit to them, Lawrence Adamski responded with specifics about that car as well as with a suggestion to consider a comparable used care that had just come into the dealership. That car ended up being PERFECT for me (and saved me $$$), and Lawrence kept me updated on the status of that used car while I was waiting for it to be checked out and made available for a test drive. If I sent an email or left him a message, I could count on a prompt response. We set an appointment, and three hours later I was driving home. The finance person, Vincent Gross, explained the extended warranty thoroughly but when I declined it, I was not subjected to the typical guilt trip nor ominous warning. I can't say enough positive things about how pleasant and easy this whole process was, and I highly recommend this dealership if you're looking for a Subaru without the hard sell or pressure you might expect from other dealerships.

Annie and the crew did a great job, I had a limited amount of time and put them in a rush. They met my deadline and I love my car.

I bought my car at Autonation Subaru dealership (then Valley Motors) in 2005. That is the only place I have ever gone for service since I bought it. 17 years. I have been a faithful customer and spent thousands there and was planning on buying my next Subaru there in 2023-2024. In July, I took my car in for some work and one of the things they fixed was one of my tires had a nail in it. Since I mostly work from home I do not drive much. So a couple months later something did not seem right with the way it drove. So I took it in, and all they found was that the same wheel THAT THEY HAD REMOVED to fix the nail the lug nuts were only hand-tightened, and over time they had worked their way looser since it was never finished off with the wrench. When I go to pick my car up and they want to charge me the $150 diagnostic fee for that. Had it been any other issue it would not have been a problem to pay that. I should not have even been there in the first place. Had they put the wheel back on correctly in July I would not have been coming in til December. After a discussion with the manager they agreed to not charge me that fee. I am lucky my wheel did not come off. Had I drove more it would have manifested itself sooner. I feel this is a particularly egreious and negligent mistake, but I was ready to put it behind me and continue being a customer. Then out of the blue, the manager said he'd put a $350 credit on my account for the future. It was after 5pm, and the person who knew how to do that would help him do that the next day. He said he would call me to confirm it was there. He never called. If he had no intention of following through on the credit he would have been better off just keeping his mouth shut. He was probably doing that to "mess with me", and as soon as I left he and the other guy likely had a good laugh at my expense.. I feel this whole incident reflects how poorly they treat female customers. First, the wheel THEY removed and supposedly put back on in July had hand-tightened lugnuts. But they wanted to charge me the $150 for coming back and fixing THEIR mistake. I don't know if they thought that in my spare time I take the wheels off my car or what, or if I am just too stupid to comprehend they screwed up. That was bad enough, but making a false promise for whatever reason is the final nail in the coffin for me. It was not an easy decision to cut ties after such a long time doing business with them. But unfortunately businesses that were once good turn bad. I will get this car serviced elsewhere, and in a year or so when I buy a new one it won't be from them. I am not even sure if I am even getting another Subaru at this point. Trust is important to me. I trusted them to fix my car professionally, and they did not. They put me in a potentially dangerous situation. And I obviously cannot take them at their word for anything. They offered the credit. I did not ask for it. Maybe mistakes happen, but lies are deliberate. AND DON'T LEAVE A CANNED RESPONSE SAYING "CALL OUR MANAGER". He was supposed to call ME. BS I guess I just need to thank God that their screw up did not kill me or someone else and move on.

WARNING: this place is predatory. I went here and was assured that, should I chose to have the service done on my car, the $139.99 they charge for a diagnostic fee would be used towards completing the service. Sounded like a good deal. A few days later I went to pick my car up and got an itemized bill for $405.99. The $139.99 diagnostic charge was listed as its own line item and didn't go towards lowering the remainder of my bill. I pointed this out to the sales associate and he refused to change my bill, even though a few days earlier he had promised that this money would be used towards the service done on my car. I tried to ask him to change my bill, and pointed out that he had lied to me earlier since he had promised this wouldn't happen, but he was completely rude and unhelpful. PLEASE stay away from here unless you also want to be scammed into paying a $139.99 diagnostic fee that doesn't, in fact, go towards any part of the service.

I had a great experience at AutoNation Subaru Hunt Valley. No nonsense, no pressure, relaxed and straightforward. Staff is very kind and welcoming, and patient when answering questions. Trade-in offer was generous based on the condition of my vehicle. I look forward to learning how the experience is post-purchase.
