I have been an ESB customer for over 40 years. Next week I have 2 CDs maturing. Not only is the renewal rate ridiculously low compared to current market rates, but I am not eligible for their higher rate CD unless I deposit 'new money'. I inquired if I could simply withdraw the funds and redeposit and was told 'no, that 's still old money'. So basically I'm being penalized for being an existing customer. This is a lousy way to treat people and I will be withdrawing the funds from both CD's next week when they mature and will deposit them with a more customer-friendly bank. Very disappointing customer service and care for clients.

As a residential real estate investor, I finally decided to jump into commercial properties to see what's it like. It was extremely difficult finding a lender willing to work with me on mixed-used properties. Eastern Savings Bank accepted the challenge and within less than 40 days (normally 60+ days for commercial), was successful in providing me a loan for my commercial property. The Eastern Savings Team was the most experienced and consistent group of folks I've ever worked with in all of my transactions and closings. My main POC, Mr. Scott Freitag, Senior Loan Officer worked with me and communicated with me almost daily via email and text messages to keep me in the loop, advise me and even recommend alternatives when he saw me making decisions that would not be most advantageous for me or by business. He walked me through the entire process and even post closing, we continue to meet and chat to discuss best practices and lessons learned. I emphatically encourage any new real estate investor or just a potential new home owner to reach out and contact Scott and Eastern Savings Bank for your future transactions. You will not be disappointed! Thanks,CharlesSatisfied Client

I need to improve my credit to get out of this disaster of a bank. Do not do business with this bank! I wish I could give them "no stars".

not the best experience by a long shot. Almost lost our home last yr. Previous mortgage Chase( that was no better) sold to EBS- they charged us 13 % interest on a already stressed payment. & 7 years we battled, had to hire a lawyer and lots of money!!! We are still paying 10 % now and there is no way out of this mess then to sell the house, So it is what it is. Tried to refy and EBS doesn't report to credit ---so they is no paper trail to see. I asked for a copy of payments and when I received it I was shocked!!! We made payments on time and I see plenty of days late-- 458 days,357 days on it! what the hell? questioned bank- you need to call me to explained. we have wh called a rolling late charge from when we were in foreclosure.. We [aid a whopping 11 grand to get this taken care on and get reinstated no where on the paper work did it even state that money-- so until these rolling late charges are taken care of, we can not reify... And Ebs KNOWS THAT!!! so we are not happy. We didn't ask to be talked over by EBS they just did it-- we didn't get any money back from their refy..
