My mom and I used to visit Thrifty Penny many years ago when I was in school. I still remember the lovely staff and we still have some of the special finds from our visits. Based on the recent reviews I read, it seems like the shop is still a gem.

Wonderful and friendly staff. They are so helpful. There is a great selection of stuff here. And the prices are very reasonable. You will definitely find some fun things here.
