I enjoyed this gym atmosphere, community, and equipment, but recently Chiseled Life Gym has been going on a massive decline. The bathroom is one of the biggest issues as there is minimal locker space, the sauna is subpar, and the urinals wreak. The owner clearly does not listen to recommendations and feels as if it is necessary to up prices without making improvements to the gym. Claiming that these changes take time is an excuse, as these issues have been addressed by members and even the staff are aware.

Good selection of equipment but the service and facilities could improve. The locker rooms changing ares feels very congested and you’ll have to maneuver and mind your shins through the cramped plate loaded machines. A lot of the selectorized machines require maintenance and/or are missing parts. The bench seats are far beyond worn. Disinfectant wipes/bottles are often not stocked which I found to be the most surprising. The cell service isn’t great in the building and the Wi-Fi often was unavailable. For the cost I did not find the facility to meet the caliber of standards I had anticipated.

This gym would be great if the owner wasnt awful and actually listened to feedback. I left a review on yelp because the equipment was as always out of service and nothing was being fixed and instead of coming to me she went through someone else to cancel my membership. Come to find out i was banned all because i expressed my opinion and was genuinely trying to help since i would go “2-3 times” a day ?DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Equipment is the best you will use. The space is a bit cramped. There is no cellular connection and the WiFi is nonexistent. They close sometimes on holidays but you’d never know because they don’t make a notice on their website.

Facility and equipment are top notch. However the clientele of this gym are somewhat inconsiderate especially with the use of tripods. I understand people want to film their workouts but when I struggle to workout without being in the back of someone’s instagram video there is an issue. Also this gym frequently hosts powerlifting meets which while I don’t inherently have a problem with them, this venue is far too small to be hosting events of this size. This makes it so the meetgoers do not have enough room and people just trying to get a workout aren’t able to do so without having to step around people standing around. The gym seems to be overall pretty clean except for the men’s bathroom, which they say is cleaned daily, despite it being pretty disgusting. Last thing is that the locker rooms are not nearly big enough to facilitate the amount of customers this gym has adding to the lackluster experience overall. If some of these issues could be addressed this could easily be a 5/5 gym in my book!

Love the gym, just wish the people and rules were better regulated

One of the best gyms in Columbia as far as hours and equipment but the culture gets old really fast. They encourage recording and tripods and it’s so packed at peak times with the younger crowds lifting in herds it’s hard to get your workout in from 5–9pm. The service is pretty terrible and their guest wifi rarely works. They have an entire room dedicated to posing but it feels like every time you turn around you’re in the background of someone’s iPhone recording and that’s disappointing for anyone just trying to get their workout in and go home.

I really loved this place, the problem is canceling. I asked to cancel and they continued to charge me for 2 months. I then fought them for 8 months to get my money back. During this time I was told they they would contact their manager about the issue. Nothing happened. I continued fighting and was told it escalated to the owner. Again, nothing happened. I had to resort to credit card charge backs, which I won. Even with all this, from what I can tell I am still $40 short. I've given up fighting it at this point. Absolutely ridiculous. Immediately take your card off your account to avoid this nonsense. Unfortunately, given this issue, won't be coming back.

Was an interesting experience going Chiseled. I encountered this person who went by the name of “John”. He looked like an acme cartoon character. He walked up next to me on the treadmill and tried to sell me this certification called a “Three Point Project Management Program.”

I'm a retired professional athlete and this gym is one of the best out there. However, i wouldn't bring my kid to this gym. Imagine bringing your kid to the gym and as soon as you open the entrance door you're welcomed with a loud music with explicit lyrics ( F this, N that) every 3 seconds. They rotate the music so it's not that they have the explicit ones all the time. Oh well, still a good gym

There is an attempt to be a good gym but they fall short. There is a decent amount of equipment, weights, and a variety of lifting styles that are supported. I don't much care for the brand of equipment they chose but that's personal preference. Bathrooms could be cleaner and the "sauna" they advertise is useless. The problem with this gym is the clientele, which the management seems to encourage. Too many instabros and instahoes trying to film their workouts, guys in nothing but boxers or no shirts with many girls wearing the same or less. True gym goers don't want to be around that distraction or feel like they have to stare at the ground to avoid conflict between sets. The lifting platforms usually have teams of people pretending to lift or taking their time for a single pull while others just watch. It's younger gym so the music is very geared towards that age group, likely set by the front desk attendant. Again, personal preference but would benefit from a variety of music genres and less mumble rap.Another issue is parking. Instead of controlling their members who allow others to sneak in through the back door, they lock the door and cut off 80% of their parking availability. I tuned in my key fab that day

Classes are challenging with a high level of instruction. Coaches are knowledgeable and held to a high standard.

This place is home, a bodybuilders haven, staff is friendly, equipment is premium, the membership is affordable, supplement store on deck. it can get packed but there are a lot of good ppl in there and everyone is respectful so it’s easy to communicate.
