I absolutely love this gym! The weights are new, the equipment is clean. The variety of activities is astonishing. The only criticism I have is there are only two squat racks.

I’ve been a member for about 4 months now and I really like it. Staff is friendly, there is a wide variety of classes to choose from and really nice, clean locker rooms. The only downfalls are that there isn’t really a recreational pool and the best classes cost extra. Otherwise I love the place.

While I spend more time than average in the weight rooms and have actually never used the pool, sauna, jacuzzi - the fitness facility is spacious, very clean and is well stocked with just about any ( and well maintained ) equip you could need for your personal fitness journey. The boxing room/training room is a big added plus. The staff is great, make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door.

I was there a couple Sundays ago, and an older man 75ish, came right into my space, touched me, and then when I told him it was unacceptable, he proceeded to put his hands on me again. I brought it to the attention of the CA gym staff. "Oh that's John," said one staffmember, and I learned this person goes there regularly with his wife. I spoke with police, this was second degree assault. The gym had video. I understood the Gym had been speaking with attorneys. Yet because I know how the court system works, and I am still recovering from a full radical nephrectomy due to kidney cancer, I simply don't have the energy or money to throw at a case that would likely be underwhelmingly unsatisfactory in the long run. Throwing Good energy and money after bad. The gym said the guy is a regular, and he will be warned. I asked if they could simply BAN him for 30-days, the Manager scoffed. Guffawed and got upset at me. Essentially, no. They start with a "warning." After sharing this with family members and friends, I learned something similar happened to one of my friends a few years back at the HANDS of a CA Athletic Club worker (who is still working there by the way). It was weird hearing all the other Me2 Like experiences that have happened there at that gym, after I shared my own experience. Apparently this is something that's been plaguing that gym for a while. Imagine - the wolf guarding the henhouse. Beware, do not give your money to a place that harbors these kind of people. They wanted me to go away quickly, I sense. I resigned my membership, the old guy who touches women with a sense of good 'ol boy entitlement, was to be "warned" and if he did it again, they might take further action. Of course, innocent until proven guilty. I know that. The Gym has video. Be wise, be educated, and make the best decision for yourself. I chose SAFETY, and to go where I am NOT expendable in favor of a person who seemed very comfortable with second degree assault. I am now looking for a gym after the CA gym leadership offered to move me to another gym, after some serious consideration, I declined. All their responses will sound rote and AI generated. So disappointed. Whoever wrote the response below did not keep up with all the details that transpired. I had considered lateralling to another CA gym, I decided against it.

This gym is great and has a lot of equipment. They have swimming pools and basketball courts, and they even have kids' care while you're working out. Great location, and they actually have several locations with tennis courts and other sports. It's definitely worth the money.

Columbia Athletic Club is a nice compact facility. Depending on what your fitness needs are CAC may be perfect for you. The staff is also helpful and friendly. Ben was able to assist me and my family on a tour experience at CAC. We are members of Supreme Sports Club, so it was nice to visit another facility. Thank You Ben at CAC's front desk!

Overall this place is pretty good. Equipment is well maintained and it’s very clean which is enough for me. The reason for 3 stars?Good luck trying to workout in this place after 2pm on any weekday. The number of groups of teenagers that take over the free weight room while doing effectively nothing is insane. I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere else. This place is supposed to have a policy where you have to be at least 14 to be in that room but it is not enforced at all.If you plan on working out in the morning this place will be great for you. But if your schedule dictates and afternoon workout I’d highly recommend finding another gym. To pay as much as this place charges to have to deal with these children running amok is absurd.

Carol T. is literally creating a bullying - high school type environment, especially if English is not your first language. She is discriminating , and it is uncomfortable even to be around her. She should not work as a trainer with the general public if she can’t act as an adult. Also she is openly making comments on you even if you are just in the room.

I am very happy with our first 2 weeks as members. The hurdle I had to jump was the commissioned sales people and the idea of a continual bank draft. It seems tricky to get out of once you sign and it's not cheap. Read the contract, don't be rushed. Finally found out I could pay an extra $75(sales person told me it was $25) for a month to month contract and that's what I choose. It's a great facility; clean, plenty of towels, equipment is well maintained, staff seems friendly and competent.

Carol Timsey personal trainer is one of the most unprofessional trainer who I have met so far. Management should be more selective during the hiring process.
