I had a very disappointing experience with one of the employees, who was extremely rude and disrespectful. I came in simply to buy a new controller, but instead was pressured to purchase warranties and consider used products. When I politely declined (more than once), his attitude became noticeably hostile and unprofessional. It’s frustrating to be treated poorly for not agreeing to upsells on useless services and products. Experiences like this make it easy to understand why GameStop is struggling.

Save your time and avoid this disaster by going to a standalone store.

Always condescending and rude. Very aggressive with their Pro Member sign ups, and get really sarcastic when you turn it down. ALSO, backdooring rare Pokemon cards to their friends/other employees.

I went to the Columbia Mall GameStop to purchase a new ps5 controller. I asked for the new controller and the attendant stated that the refurbished ones were $15 cheaper as well as in “new” like condition.
After a bit of a back and forth conversation, I finally asked the attendant whether the refurbished controller would work similar to a new controller. He confidently stated that they have been checked, and they essentially work as a new one. As I attempted to connect the controller to the ps5, I found the entire charging port was damaged and unusable. Additionally, there are marks all over the controller right out of the package. I did trust the expertise of the attendant, but ultimately was fooled.
0/5 experience, and I was about to purchase the new controller too…

I have been a Pro member for while and I have bought 3 consoles from GameStop.
Now, my latest experience in this particular location was not great at all.
I told the shop attendant I didn’t want a bag and he insisted on giving me one. I wasn’t with my toddler so, to cut it short I let him sell it to me.
I got a new PS5 and, since my toddler was getting restless, I tried to get that done quick.
When I get home, I realize the seal of the box was broken. So, without touching the box any further I returned to the store to get an unopened one. The attendant did not wanted to exchange that and I was left with the box with the torn seal. He insisted he knew those seals break very easily and that the console was brand new… Now, he knew this but never told me when I was purchasing it. I am sure he took advantage of the fact that I was in a rush to shove me a product he wasn’t gonna sell easily.
I really don’t appreciate being used like this and I will never again shop at that location.
I like to support local shops by buying from them, but If I had bought this console online, I wouldn’t have had this issue.
In sun, I encourage other folks to avoid this place.

Terrible customer service I ordered online to pick up. The store was supposed to be open at 12. The gentlemen meandered into the store at close to 1230. And even as I was standing outside as a customer who's been waiting for quite some time he didn't even give me the courtesy to say good morning or say, I'll be there in one second or anything else to try to defuse his old malfeasance of not opening up the store on time. Seem to have a very bad attitude when you finally did open up the store as if she was being inconvenienced.

Cool staff and very knowledgeable. One of the better GameStop i've been to. Its a small store so you actually get a great one on one with the workers.
