Was checking what the hours were and saw the low stars and comments on the one sales staff. Visited today - 8 Feb 25 - and had zero issues. Same guy was there. I was greeted, he assisted as needed, and was cordial.

I can’t say enough good things about Johnston & Murphy! Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the quality of their clothing and shoes, but what really stands out is the customer service. Eddie, in particular, has been incredibly helpful on multiple occasions. He goes above and beyond to ensure I find exactly what I need, offering great suggestions and making the whole shopping experience enjoyable. His attention to detail and genuine care for customers set this store apart. Thanks to Eddie and the team, I always leave feeling confident in my purchases. Highly recommend!

Love this store. Great style and up to date men’s fashion. Sometimes the online inventory doesn’t always match what’s available for in-store pick-up, but the sales personnel always go out of their way. They are always very gracious with their time and advice.

Eddie and Mitch are the best! I am a regular shopper and find them to be two of the most pleasant and accommodating gentlemen in retail today! They are a rare find and I appreciate how incredibly well my family and I are always treated when I come into the store!

My complaint seems to be same as most the others here - actually pretty validating to read I’m not alone.
The salesman in his 50-60s, tan, balding, short and the blue checked suit. He might be the store owner… I’m not sure. SO rude, aggressive (like he just wanted our money) and arrogant. My fiance and I went in there two separate times with the intention of buying two $300 jackets (and a couple pull overs caught our eyes so we were open to spending more). We never got to spend much time because the man was so rude it was off-putting. He interrupted his own coworker who was helping us… and then interrupted us numerous times. With every question we had, he was dismissive, condescending and kept pressuring us to “buy today” because “it probably won’t be here when you come back” (spoiler alert, the items were there a month later.) We actually had intended on buying that day, but he was so rude we chose not to purchase out of principle.
The second time, we scoped out the store to see if he was working. He was. And we initially weren’t going to go back into the store because we didn’t want to interact with him. However, I decided to go ahead and go in to at least purchase one of the jackets for my father. Unfortunately- we received the same experience. I asked if the man had a certain size (because two of the mannequins were wearing the jacket)… he cut me off, said it was sold out like he was annoyed I was even asking. He insisted a few times we order online (I had to keep saying no for him to drop it) and we left.
You’ll never catch me (or my fiance) dead in the Columbia location again. I never leave reviews, but after two poor experiences I had to. It’s crazy after this many complaints he’s still there. I’m telling you that man only cares about your money and whatever commission he gets from you. Buy only or go to Towson but don’t give this dude your money.

Went in for a 2nd time and was just browsing, whilst I understand that it's customary to keep an eye on who enters the store it would be great if I received the same warm welcome as other people that were in the establishment. I was greeted with a cold stare and a lazy can I help you, when I replied that I was just browsing he did not engage in making me feel welcome it felt like a no poor person Ive no time for you. It was relatively quiet and the staff member was a man with glasses and a checked blue suit jacket. To be honest I had 900 dollars on me to spend on a decent set of clothes and I just thought this establishment was not worth my custom. It does however have good quality goods just wish that it had a better class of customer sales man that could convince me to buy there quality as I've been upserved better service with a smile in MC Donald's. My first visit was the same the week prior by the same server so it's not an off day. I'll be back next year hopefully the feedback will improve the service.

I took my dad in to shop for shoes. He doesn’t buy himself new clothes or shoes like EVER so I wanted to treat him to something nice. Eddie (if that’s how it’s spelled??) greeted me and my dad when we walked in. Another gentleman I forget the name of also greeted us shortly after. We tried on a few different styles of shoes and found two pairs thanks to Eddie’s suggestions. My dad said they were comfortable and “what the suave men seem to wear” so I’d say that’s a solid 5 star review from him! My experience was good as well and I loved a lot of the shirts so I’m def coming back soon for more :)

Nice shoes. Good quality and likes the styles. However, they only had medium sizes and I needed a wide. The sales person was rude and wouldn’t believe me that I needed a wide size shoe. After he practically tossed the foot measuring tool to me and asked me to step on it , despite the wide measurement he argued it I just needed a longer shoe.

The salesman was rude, arrogant, snooty and use sarcasm at first contact.I was at the store on April 19, 2024 around 5:30 pm. EST.Do not come to this place unless you want to take a chance to be disrespectedThis man might be in his early 50s and something is wrong with him.I hope corporate or the store owner read this review.

Judging on recent reviews, I too encountered the same salesman and agree with all of them. He was rude, condescending, and judgmental. Asking him questions and assistance would rile him up for no reason. I've already decided a pair of shoes from online, but he made it a very uncomfortable shopping experience. I will not be going back to this store.

Just bought shoes from this location. Bad experience. The employee was rude and condescending. They were not helpful in making a shoe selection and just pushed me to buy the most expensive pair.

I always find good deals at this location. Great value the price. The shoes are very comfortable and look good as well.
