Went there 15 minutes prior to store closing time, and the store had already closed. The two ladies inside ignored me as I was trying to ask a question. Both kept looking at me while laughing behind the counter. The older one said: Just ignore her. This was at Columbia Mall on Dec. 11, 2023. In a day and age where so many companies are filing for bankruptcy, Journeys should know better than to hire people who lack basic customer service skills!

Despite the store being completely empty and there being 3 staff members present/ behind the counter, no one greeted me, or asked if I needed help. I did however get barked at with shortness regarding if I wanted to try on a shoe I was walking up to the counter with. The box of shoes was thrown on the counter, pulled closer to the cashier, and again, with shortness, I was asked if I wanted to try them on. Checkout was fast and I managed to get a noticeably lighter tone when being suggested to buy something else, but as anyone might’ve been by then, I was eager to get out of there rather than increase possible commission. Visit was 6/23/23 3PM. My second visit to this store over the past 2 years, and after the lack of basic customer service each time, from reoccurring employers, I think it’s time to buy from another store, or give the website a try.

A few months ago I was looking for shoes for my birthday, One of the guys helped me find my shoe size and model. He was very patient and his customer service was great! I got some Adidas and some Vans too ? Can't wait to go buy more Vans

The colorful New Balance sneakers I wanted were in this store location. However upon entry and while inside the store no one greeted us or tried to assist us with anything. For that reason I did not make a purchase.

I went to the store at the Mall in Columbia, MD on 12/29/2021to return boots that I had gotten as a Christmas gift from that same store (with the receipts for all of the boots in hand) and the "supposed store manager", Alexander, would not allow me to get a refund for my wife's purchase because I did not have my wife's credit card with me. This is a clear violation of Journeys' Policy as outlined at the bottom of the receipt which states: "We will gladly refund and/or exchange any unworn merchandise with receipt. Receipt required for refunds and exchanges." No mention on the receipt stated that I needed the original form of payment to make the return and I did not want to exchange my gifts for anything else neither in store nor online. This, obviously incompetent" Store Manager was elevated to his position and either, does not know his company's policy or wanted to prevent me from return my gifts in the interest of his store losing multiple sales. I had to waste nearly an hour of my valuable time calling the Journeys Customer Service number to get the employees of this store to honor their company's policy. Also, I asked to speak with a District/General Manager for this store regarding this manager's incompetence and clear policy violation that he tried to commit and have yet to hear from anyone. TOTALLY UNEXCEPTABLE!!! If I could give this encounter a negative 5 stars (-5 ⭐) I definitely would.

The teenagers that you guys had working there all need to be retrained on customer service. They were at work but didn't seem to feel like working at all. No one was on the floor asking any customers can they help them with anything and there were like 4 employees just standing at the checkout counter. Customers literally had to take their shoe to the counter and ask for help.
