When I saw the 1.5 stars review I thought it'll be the worst experience ever. I have it a shot but all staff treat me really well and they did what I asked for immediately. They have a really good knowledge of what they do. So happy I went there for my account. I don't think there's a better branch than this one. So I'll be back there for all may banking requests!

This bank is very slow & does not have any order as far as first come first serve. I also came in with concerns about my account & was told that the branch manager would call me . It's been weeks & no response.

This is the worst bank. They always have one teller for a long line. They know they deal with business and personal accounts but don't use the people to help with traffic. I witnessed the managers sit in a circle chatting while one teller struggled with 10 customers. I was in that line for 30 mins. (No exaggeration). The managers could have easily swung behind the register to help with the heavy flow but they did nothing. and they aren't helpful at all.

I believe this is on if the worst Bank of America there is... They have 100 people greeting you at the door and absolutely no one at the counter to assist customers. When the line start going towards the door before another agent come to assist, I will be going else where from now on this bank do not value their customers so I don't need to bank there.. worst customer service in history

I waited and stood in line approximately 30 minutes inside the bank to cash a check today around noon. I was 3rd in line. There was only 1 teller assisting customers. There were 3 people in suits, not busy. Asked the branch manager, could anyone else help ? He informed me his other teller was on break. Cross training would be helpful in this case?? The line continued to grow, I left when I was next in line. The lady in front of me was doing a business transaction, with multiple bags of money being counted etc., which was going to take additional time. Meanwhile 2 other customers came and went without completing their banking, they too were not happy with the service. I followed up with a phone call to corporate and filed a complaint. This is not the first time I have waited long length of time at this branch, that is often under staffed and does not have enough tellers. I hope BOA takes this feedback seriously.

DO NOT BANK HERE! I have been trying for about one month to help my son gain access to his $10,000 which BOA hashad in their possession. This money has been deducted from the Suntrust account which it was written. Yet we were just told it could be another 30-45 days to for them to review this transaction and my son to gain access to his funds which he needs and is delinquent for UMD tuition, rent and living expenses. On September 18th my son opened a new account (he does have about 4 years history with a joint account through BOA that was in good standing). He deposited the 10,000 check written from his father and step mother at the College Park BOA location. He paid multiple bills including a portion of tuition and one months rent. Two days later he was unable to access his online account. He called BOA and they told him he must go to the branch, he went to the branch and they said he must call the fraud number. As we experience each time we call the fraud department it took almost an hour to get to the approrpriate representative who told him the check had been deemed counterfeit, his account had been closed and he would need to pay back any negative balance. Every step of the way in the branch and on the phome being treated rudely by unhelpful BOA personnel. In an effort to help him navigate this situation we would 3 way call to see how to rectify. I experienced the same extended wait time and unhelpful, rude behavior. We were told that the check could not be resubmitted and we needed to get a replacement and deposit. Not wanting any negative credit consequences for my son and assuming they would be most helpful now that they recognized it was a valid check we followed their instructions. Got a replacement check and deposited it into BOA. There was a hold placed on the funds for a week. My son called a few days later and was told this check also was deemed counterfet. That his father would need to get a form notarized by Suntrust then deliver it to BOA to be faxed to the fraud department. At this point the funds had been taken by BOA from Suntrust. BOA had/has the $10,000 in their possession. His father completed this notary task two weeks ago on Oct 3rd. My son waited the 3 days they said it took to recognize the notarized faxed forms. He spent over an hour yet again maneuvering through from customer service to the fraud department and was told on Friday the 6th of September it now would be reviewed in a 30-45 day process. As I said all the while Bank of America has the $10,000. Trying to expedite has cost me, my son and his dad at least 20 hours each on the phone or performing tasks to gain access to the $10,000 they are holding/ allow give us the 10,000's they are holding. Mt. AIry Suntrust has tried to help (Marilyn) and even BOA (especially Mary) in the Mt. AIry office. But BOA has a special "back opps" team that can not be reached. Yesterday we spent about 3 hours on the phone escalatinfg at each stage. That session ended with Chris a manager in the escalation team elevating the issue to Jose who said he may actually be able to send an email to the "back opps group" but that there was no way to reach them by phone. This 3 way effort ended with Jose stating he was going to place me on hold while and call my son to get permission to speak with his dad who wrote the check and had the information from the Mt. Airy offices.Jose then disconnected from us and called my son, let it ring 1 second then hung up. I was determined, called back, worked my way through the channels for another hour, got back to Chris who then told me Jose was unavailable. He would call us back. Hasn't happened. So today my son is borrowing a car, driving to meet his dad at Mt Airy BOA and seeing what they can accomplish with the fraud team to gain access to the 10,000 that they have been holding of his for about one month now. This isnt just unethical but illegal and I have filed a complaint with the federal reserve.

This is by far the worst Bank of America location I have ever been to. I am a business owner and am always on the go so I don't Have time to wait in line almost 30 minutes just to make a simple deposit ! There was one teller working and giving everyone an attitude! I have been coming to this location for 10 years and this is not by choice! There was a line almost to the door and every customer waiting was huffing and puffing ... I did complain To the teller when my time for a simple deposit finally approached and she responded she couldn't help it ... Not even an apology! I hate this location.

I have been to this branch four times since November 2016. The first two times I noticed there was only one teller and the Bank Manager Minaj (sp) (I asked who she was) interrogated me at the teller counter while I was conducting my transaction. She was not being helpful, but noisy and interrogating - I was so uncomfortable that I inquired about her position and ask if there was something she needed from versus the actual teller handling my transaction - at this point she backed off. The next two times I visited the branch the line had 10 people (not a lot of customer, I know) however it took me 45 minutes total to be seen and complete my transaction with a teller. Everyone in line was complaining that there was only one teller for a bank this large and located in such a high traffic area as Columbia Town Center. When a gentlemen in line asked the Manager what she was doing and why there was only one teller her response was, "that's none of your business." Everyone in line turned around appalled. The Bank Manger was completely out of line an unprofessional. Since when did Bank of America stop training their employees to have good customer service. The Bank Manager needs to be removed and placed in a mandatory week or more long course on Customer Service and how to interact with customers. The entire branch needs a staffing review because one teller between noon and 2:45pm EST and the attitude and approach from most of the staff is unacceptable.

The walk up ATMs are fine, but the drive they does this weird thing where it takes your card in very slow and slowly pushes it back out...almost like it's reading or copying your card numbers. I've never seen any ATM do this. I will be calling this branch in the morning to report this suspicious activity. The good thing is that the ATM dispenses $10s and $20s.

This review really is for the entire Bank of America company and not just this location. My dealings with them have been online and through their customer service number, but Yelp does not give you that as an option. It should. In any case, I had a checking and savings account with B of A for years and recently their service has dropped considerably. They have charged me fees for things that they shouldn't have including late payments when payment was made and their on line banking system has locked me out for 5-7 business days on several occasions for no apparent reason. Further, I have found out that they are getting involved in the politics of the gun debate by freezing their customers accounts so they cannot transact business if those customers deal in gun or ammunition sales! This is ridiculous that business are getting involved in this manner with political matters! The last thing this country needs right now is less business being conducted! DO NOT do business with Bank of America unless you want headaches!

I opened a B of A account about 4 years ago and had non-stop issues with them every step of the way whether it was them holding checks longer than the standard, or mysteriously having charges post before deposits so I would be overdrawn (even if I had made deposits long before the charges). Even now, as I was trying to close my account, I had to come back FOUR different times to finally get it closed. Let's start with WHY I decided to close my student checking/savings account in the first place.... I was told that there were no monthly fees involved with a student account, there actually is with the savings account portion if there is not a certain balance maintained, I was never told this. I never noticed when I used this account often but realized this fact when I stopped using the accounts regularly. Lo and behold, my savings account was overdrawn $6 when I hadn't used it in months, actually almost a year. Well, I was getting charged the nifty little monthly fee until finally I was overdrawn. Ok fine, my fault for not reading the fine print or noticing. So I thought, fine I'll just close this account since I don't use it anyway. I arrived at B of A to tell them I was closing my accounts. I had recently gotten married and changed my name so I was told I had to first change the name on the accounts first. Then with no issues, the checking account was closed. Since the savings account was overdrawn, I was told I had to make a deposit and allow it to clear before I could close this account in order to cover the negative balance, which was caused by the monthly service fees mind you. Well, they wouldn't accept a deposit from my debit card from another bank so I needed to deposit cash or check. I don't carry checks and I didn't have cash, nor did I feel like taking out cash and being charged the ATM fee. So, a few days later I came back with a $6 check to cover my overdrawn account and close it out. This time they said I had to wait til the check cleared (all of $6 lol!) until I could close the account. I returned a week later to close it out. Well, apparently the name change didn't go through from my first visit so they had to re-do it and said to come back when it went through. I was starting to feel like I was in a bad lucid dream that I couldn't wake up from! So I came back a week after that....only to find out I had been charged the monthly service fee in the meantime AGAIN and my account was overdrawn AGAIN!!!!! By this point I was about to lose it! The guy that helped me was nice enough to cancel out the service fee (I can't remember his name but he seemed to at least care somewhat) but that was not enough for me rate them any higher because I had had way too many bad experiences up til this point. I am now B of A free and will never get another account with them or recommend them to anyone. As a matter of fact, I advise that anyone reading this avoid B of A at ALL costs. There are so many smaller, local banks to choose from that deliver great service and actually care about getting your business.
