I love bookstores so I was excited to stop in by The Book Center. And I was so terribly disappointed. I walked in and the two people working didn't even acknowledge me. The selection of new releases was minimal at best, and though there are a lot of used books, I didn't find anything of interest. They do have a small section of local books (about the area or from area authors) but when I asked for help/recommendations, I was just led to a section and left there with no guidance. Sooooo unfortunately, only two stars. However, this place has a bookstore cat, Alice, and if I could give her 10 stars, I would. The main reason to come here, TBH.

Large and clean. The smell of nostalgia! Places to sit and read and also check out cigars and other goodies at the cashier desk. The cat (Alice) greeted me at the front door and led me on a tour. Wonderful to know they help the cats find homes too!.

We love to visit this local book store! Always has lots of new and great selections! This bookstore is so unique and has tons of character! We love visiting to see Alice while we browse for books. Customer service is great here and they always have good recommendations. If your in need of a book make this a priority stop!

Love this place! Great selection of new and used books, and...cigars?? Pretty cool. The building is an amazing historic place and the store layout showcases the old world architecture. They have a cat, Alice.. she is a literary wonder. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Also, a treasure trove for local information, maps and local guides to help visitors in the area.

A cozy little bookstore. Lots of old books and new, they also sell tobacco products, pipes and cigars. They have a very soft,friendly, and old cat.

Small town book store. Not a "Wow" kinda place, but thats ok too. Was just passing through and stopped to look around the town. It was the only store we visited before leaving..

This bookstore is very spacious and is very welcoming to the public. They have a variety of assorted books in each genre. They have both new books and gently used books. You also may find some books deals on end caps where they have $1 books. The owners/clerks are very nice.
