I knew the takeover of Sandy Spring Bank (where I'd been a client for 20+ years) was bad news, but I had no idea how bad it would be. I was told by phone that I'd have to go to a branch personally to direct changes to a CD that matured (had to be done within 10 days), which was annoying enough. But it took at least 1hr35mins to open a smaller CD and get a cashier's check for the balance. Similar transactions in the past took 20-30 minutes. The rep needed phone support for every step, and had to run to a separate office multiple times to pick up print-outs. To top it off, there was a problem with the check printer. At one point it was suggested I go home and come back later to pick up the check! I don't blame the representative; the bank should have ensured that everyone is fully trained, and that all equipment is in working order and in a convenient location. Also, I found out that a key benefit from Sandy Spring is not available at Atlantic Union, so there's no reason to stay.

I think Sandy Spring bank is superb! They have prevented fraud on two occasions, once when I was traveling abroad, and once when a check was stolen from my mailbox. I always alert them when I travel. Every single experience I have had with this bank has been outstanding; I hope it continues with the new merger. I have been with Sandy Spring for more than 20 years!

I have been banking with Sandy Spring bank since I was 16 years old. They gave me my first personal loan so I could pursue my equestrian dream, abroud, to a well renound equitation center in England, returning to the states with my British horse society Assistant *instructors certificate and a Horsmasters degree, I was able to quickly make a name and eventually a riding school here in Laytonsvile -Gaithersburg area. I have trusted them with finances ever since.

Kinda surprised at the location's rating. They've also been nice to me. I often go there with requests from my church that require more time but they always accommodate the requests. My youngest son like to accompany me since they always give him candy. Never had a bad experience so I figure I can help out with the rating.

THE BEST customer service at this location. Tellers are awesome at getting to know their customers and engaging. Tellers here have the best manners and customer service.

A previous review was extremely odd to me. Although the sandy spring bank as a whole is complicated and difficult. This branch is the one single reason why I still have an account at this bank. The people go out of their way to make my life easier.

By FAR the worst Sandy spring bank location. AVOID AT ALL COST! Clarksville has always treated me so well and Kindly I thought it was a business practice but unfortunately I will be changing banks. What they've done to me is borderline fraud

...When an employee sits at his desk, while the customer line has 3 people, does it make since for him to jump up at the next person to come in and sit down, who didn't wait in line for the past 9 minutes?
