One of my favorite courses to play. It has a medium difficulty 18 hole course as well as a great executive 9 hole course which is great for beginners or if you’re short on time. Friendly staff and well kept grounds.

Always in great condition. Not long but fun and fair layout. Also, a good walk.

Its an OK course. However, Moco Golf has gotten absurdly expensive for the product that they are delivering. If you want to play a weekend round in the AM with a cart, you are going to be close to $100.00. The courses are in no way shape or form worth that much. As a moco player my whole life, its a shame that they are charging this much for a county owned course. They aren't even keeping the conditions up. Patchy grass, weeds, etc. Should be about 25% less than what they are charging.

I would have give it zero star if there is such thing. I booked tee time at 6:06pm on June 5, 2023 for me and my friends at Needwood. But deal to miscommunication, my friend went ahead and booked it for himself at the same time. When I realized the problem, I called the Needwood golf course, but no one picked up the phone.when I got there, I checked in with Chris who actually gave me a hard time for the confusion. He was very rude and using the analogy that he could not sell the apple which is bad?? I was so amused and asked him that would he rather lose the opportunity to selling that apple because customers made a mistake booking and lose a lot of customers? he answered "yes"!It appears that this golf course has so much business that they don't care about customers because of its prime location. This is not the first time I have seen or heard about the bad services from this golf course. I'd much rather take my money and business to other courses in Montgomery County.Unless you are willing to deal with this kind of attitude, I strongly recommend you to go other golf courses which are much friendlier and they value customer service!

I met a few buddies at Needwood a couple weekends ago for morning 7:15am round. It was a beautiful morning to be out golfing (but isn't every morning)! The check in process for the round was quick and easy - we paid about $85 a piece for 18 holes + the cart. We checked in with the start a few minutes before our tee time and we were sent along on our way to the first tee. Got to like an on time start.Prior to our first tee, we had some time to warmup on their practice putting and chipping greens. They have one green that allows putting and chipping and a second smaller green closer to the clubhouse that is putting only. I wouldn't say either green is large enough for a full practice session with multiple people using them but for a few swings to prep before an early round they worked great. The course itself was in solid condition - the fairways and greens were even and well kept. The level of difficulty was solid for a group of intermediate golfers. And the cart paths were well kept and pretty easy to follow. Overall, I'm not sure the course warrants an $85 price tag - I've played at similar quality of courses for half the price but maybe that's what I get for booking at a peak time on a Saturday. If I return (which I would) I'd book an evening round and enjoy the evening rates which seemed to be in the $40 range; I think that's more on par with the quality of the course and it's amenities.

Very good golf course. I have gone here for over five years and the food is better than other golf courses I have been to. Thankfully the driving range does not have color coded distances that you have to decode, they just have the plain and simple sign with a number on it. Easy to read and no looking for a sign with the color coding.

Very nice people here. Always accommodating. Fair course to golfer. Play smart or go for it, you'll still have fun. Great food service, beers supporting local breweries.

Home course used to be Redgate in Rockville but since it closed Needwood has been my family's go to course. Executive 9 is a blast for the kids or for a quick round after or before work. Main course is fun with some challenging holes to keep you on your toes. Twilight golf in the summer is $25 or less after 5PM using the MCG Golf website which can't be beat.
