“I tried this place several years ago (before the current owner) and said I’d never go back because it was so dreary. I NEVER saw anyone other than the patrons and even they were limited. It was almost as if it was operating on autopilot BUT NOW… this is one of the most lively laundromat’s to go to. It’s clearly staffed, well maintained and everything is always in working order. “This was my first time using a laundry service, and I have to say that every staff member that I interacted with did such an amazing job with customer service and ensuring that everything I needed for my elderly disabled mother was taken care of. From the guys who took calls to the people who washed the clothes to the delivery man, all the customer service was top-notch notch and I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to someone else. No odors, just clean smelling perfectly folded clothes. A little pricey but for that kind of experience I don't mind the costs.”

“I have been on the Hill since dirt was discovered here; I ran my own biz here for 25 years(Splash Car Wash). This business is well run and Mrs. Kim is a jewel. I had a dress(tuxedo) shirt damaged here once, years ago, and she covered the replacement cost. This remains my go-to place, and it should be yours.”
“I was googling shoe cleaning businesses near me and found Sole Wash so I called and the owner answered the phone and told me when she would be at the shop. I went the next day with my suede flats to be cleaned and although it took a little over a month to get them back due to a recent flood in the building, she did a great job. Plus first time customers get a nice discount! Parking is tight on Pennsylvania Ave SE so park around the corner or near Trader Joes and walk across the street (if you buy something at Trader Joes, they will validate your parking in their garage). The owner is super nice and very responsive to texts/calls from customers checking on the status of their shoes. I highly recommend this black owned business and wish the owner continued success.”

“I had a emergency my zipper broke on my pants and I had to be to work in 3 hours I went to 5 cleaners and no one would help everyone said 5-6 days I said what are you serious but I came here in just 5 mins they hooked a sister up fix my pants and I was on my way thank you Allah. “Wow!! Skips is a nice liquor store in the neighborhood that has been there for a very long time at one time there was a crowd of folks that hung around the store all day begging for money but they have cleaned it up and you feel much safer going there now”

“Update 2024: I've been frequenting this shopping center for 20 years, and there has been more turnover since 2020 than previously. You can typically find what you need and have a guaranteed store to come back to. I'm hoping the new frozen yogurt place sticks. Nice Safeway, the butchers are great and pretty helpful. The fresh fruits and veggies are usually of good quality and plentiful. Sometimes, you can even buy herb plants. Vaccinations are available at the pharmacy with a private waiting area. They are usually quick and text about updated boosters and vaccines they have available. Dollar Tree used to be better but has definitely gone downhill. Petsmart is organized and offers good service. CVS and At&t store are good. The gas station has an auto shop that does good work at fair prices. Also has smaller Bath and Body works but great staff and selection. The new Peruvian chicken place is sooo good. The Wendy's offers a 50-piece nugget for like 15 bucks, but it's not on the menu. You have to ask. There are two shoe stores (sneakers) in the shopping center. I haven't been, but since the Footlocker in Beltway Plaza won't let you try on shoes, ...seems like I'll be trying them out soon. There's a pediatric urgent care and IHOP that does a decent burger in a pinch. The Chevys has been around for years and the food is always good and the staff are nice. They used to have a fun Cinco de Mayo party that had face painters and a DJ that I hope comes back soon. The drink specials were good and I've had more than a few great nights with friends there. The liquor store is small but has a surprising amount of options for its size. There is a music store but I haven't been inside. It's been there forever, though. There is one bank there currently with a credit union (Lafayette) coming soon. The beauty supply store is decent, but I've only shopped there a few times. Though the clippers they sold came in clutch during lockdown and are still chugging along. Solid purchase for 50/60 dollars. Overall, there's plenty of parking, and folks are pleasant. Outside of specialty items and clothing that isn't boutique or streetwear (Cici's and DTLR), you will probably be able to find what you need here.”

“I've gone to Amax consistently for over a year and they're the best dry cleaning service in the area. I don't know why the reviews are so bad (maybe management turned over). I've only experienced absolute hospitality, flexibility, and professionalism from the Women who work here. Prices are consistent and fair, and everything comes back clean and well-handled. They also have a tailor who comes weekly to do alterations, and they do an amazing job. I've had multiple pairs of pants altered at the waist, hip, and ankle to satisfaction. I've seen others have leather/pleather worked on as well. The team is super hardworking and will take time to talk to you about more bespoke issues, like cashmere that's been shrunken or odd stains that won't come out.I don't normally leave reviews, but this place needs a rating closer to 5 stars.”
“Under new management since the summer of 2022. They have new washers and dryers. The machines now accept payment via Dexter Pay, so that you don't have to lug around quarters.”

“I did laundry on new year eve. About 5:15 they locked doors so everyone could go home. Okay cool. The staff to everyone that were closing early due to new year eve. But, they never stated 6pm unless you asked them even them seem a lil unsure about that time. Paying customers had just start drying clothes . Another customer clothes were still washing and the janitor was trying to rush me others to hurry up and finish kindly ask the staff to check the lent drawer. It never got done. Janitor was telling me to push the start button on the dryers after I saw the green light and at the same time was trying be smart. Then the janitor had audacity to try to argue with me when I told him the machines were started. The floors were not swept or mopped when I walked into this laundromat. Other these issues the staff were kind and helpful”

“They are, by far, the best dry cleaners in this area, and they do great alterations work too. And they are such nice people, too. Their prices do seem very high (they have definitely gone up over the past few years). “Let us not fool ourselves. The laundromat section, next to the dry cleaners, is small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in Ron. The attendant, Ron, runs a tight ship and is extremely helpful. He brings a cart out to me when I arrived and gave me the low down on the laundromat and area. I watched him do this with everyone that arrived. He is an extremely helpful soul. I used to go to Logan Laundromat as it is closer to my place. I mourned its loss at first but conversations with Ron have more than made up for the loss. Get there early if you do not want to wait. Their dry cleaners next door is also better than most. The owner is nice as well. But he is no Ron...”
