The AAM is such a blessing for our community. Great mix of local and global focus. I can’t necessarily afford most of the class offerings, but anyone can afford free admission to a great museum. Lovely location, as well, walkable from anywhere in town. Must visit!

I participated in a craft event. Everyone from the customers to employees and volunteers were super nice, and you could tell it was natural, not forced. It's great the museum structures are part new and part historic. Parking is easy and free. Because I was participating, I didn't get around to see much, but it's definitely in my plans to make a trip, 2 hrs from where I live, to view all the collections.

BLUF: I recommend. The parking is all street parking.I do NOT recommend bringing walking babies, toddlers, or kindergarten aged kids here. There are too many temptations to touch things that are NOT touchable. Parents save your sanity and leave young kids with a babysitter!I had a wonderful time going through this smaller but packed art museum. My husband and kids were bored after running through it HOWEVER they aren't ones to stop and stare at art.For anyone looking for a unique place to hold a wedding or mature birthday party and NOT decorating, this would be a very good place, except for the street parking. It's a big issue to me. LoLIf you plan to take your kids and they aren't big art fans, I'd check the website to see when the museum is offering kid friendly classes. That may make the trip a bit more enjoyable for them. I know my kids wouldn't mind coming back but only if they can touch something or do an art class.Bottom line, I recommend.

One of the best small museums in the country. Their connection with the National Gallery allows for a variety of famous historical artists usually mixed with less famous artists to give an in depth view of a particular genre. We have seen Japanese wood blocks, prints by Goya, Dutch still life's, engravings based around William Blake, and many many more. Their exhibits are wonderful and thought provoking. Usually you can see all the exhibits from anywhere between 45 minutes to 90 minutes. The exhibits change regularly so you want to catch them as you can. The cost is inexpensive. What a wonderful way to spend an hour and a half of your afternoon.

Not a traditional visit, my high school senior and I went to a Portfolio Review night. Six colleges had tables with reps to critique the kids' art. It was very clean, well organized and we had no trouble parking on the side street.

It is really nice that they have late hours every Thursday until 730 but unfortunately when I came there was no art on display.

I went during the Andy Warhol exhibit which I found very interesting. The building is an architectural masterpiece with accessibility for the disabled. The library is a quite place for reading. And I would recommend to a friend.
