This store in Edgewater (and maybe all of Giant) make it impossible to speak to anyone in the pharmacy department. They offer online prescription management (which doesn't work very well) but literally ignore requested prescription refills. So when you try to contact them about the order, especially if they are not filling it, the only option is to drive all the way to the store. So what exactly is the point of 1) having an online ordering system, and 2) having a phone in the pharmacy department. They never pickup, return calls or even acknowledge faxes (which I have tried to send to straighten out the problem. I have had so many times when I would show up at the pharmacy only to find out my orders (even the ones I ordered while in the store) are not complete or parts of the order are missing. Bad operations here.

I’m always pleased with Edgewater Giant pharmacy. They are customer service focused, they will do their best to help you out, and they get prescriptions filled in a timely manner. I prefer them as my primary pharmacy, and go to them when my insurance allows! Thanks to everyone at Edgewater Giant Pharmacy!

I switched to this location after some issues getting medications at another local Giant pharmacy. I had one issue with a medication, but it wasn’t them, it was the medication prescribed not typically carried at a lot of stores. There was a period where you could tell they were short staffed and I’ve only had one employee being utterly useless at helping me (my prescription was sent to the wrong one and instead of helping me with that, they just turned me away). The manager was really helpful at making sure they send me texts for when my refills are ready so I love that feature! It seems they have staffing issues remedied and my prescriptions are ready usually before the given time frame. I’m not sure why they’re getting so much hate, I guess no one has had to deal with CVS or Walgreens to fill their prescriptions

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. The worst customer service. I’ve had multiple issues with Ryon. First time he left for the day while I was waiting for him to finish up with my prescription. Said nothing to me, clocked out and walked right past me KNOWING I was having a hard time and was waiting for him. A little communication goes a long way…especially when you’re working in the medical field. Today they opened late with 4 people in line. One left while watching Ryon slowly shuffle to a register with ZERO recognition of the line in front of him because she was tired of waiting.
I suggest a career change, Ryon. One star is incredibly generous.

I don't normally have issues with Giant Pharmacy but I did yesterday. I arrived to pick up a prescription for an eye issue when I was informed by the clerk that the eye drops required pre-authorization from my insurance company? I wasn't sure how I was expected to accomplish this and the clerk, Eclipse, was rude, unhelpful and dismissive when I asked how I was supposed to know this authorization was needed. This clerk needs re-trained. As a customer facing employee their customer service skills are severely lacking. The pharmacist who stepped in was not much better. I ended up leaving without my much needed prescription and went back to my doctor's office who had it on hand for a fraction of the price. Should have done that to begin with. Don't think I will be back.

I have used this pharmacy for 40 plus years.Their service right now is the worst I have ever experienced. They won't take care of pre authorization till you call them to check on your meds. They take forever to answer the phone, it just keeps ringing. Vincent is the only one that will go the extra mile to help the customers. That I have dealt with at the counter. My husband had a medicine that was out of stock, the person who answered the phone just told him we don't have it. With all the medication shortages right now alittle help would be great. Once I was able to talk to the pharmacist. Not the person at the counter, that I feel is only there for a paycheck.

Not sure why I’m even posting this review, since I understand that they will never read this. I fill my 76 yr old dad’s meds here for prices. He does not have a prescription plan. Every month it’s the same thing, have to order or they can’t find the refill. They call and tell me that the order is ready, and when I arrive nothing is ready. The team is very rude, except for I believe her name is Markita.

This pharmacy is absolutely the most incompetent. Extremely rude also. Never have medications needed...claiming always on back order. Do not go here!!! Trust me. I've had more trouble here, many numerous times!!! Un freaking believable.

The only pharmacy I've ever seen that intentionally, pushes away, and turns their backs on their customers. I would steer clear of this one folks. Their customer service is absolutely terrible, and the Pharmacist was extremely rude to me, and I'm a 72-y.o.woman in a wheelchair!

I had to out the one star but I would give these people NO stars...just left the Edgewater Giant Pharmacy with my 74 year old physically disabled mother in her wheelchair and the Pharmacist was the most rude person to treated my mother with total disrespect..he said "you can go somewhere else" and we will now do just that...then the little wimp wanted to call the police when I said that if he had talked to my mother like that on the street i would ring his neck...they treat you like your a criminal at this pharmacy and treat you with complete disrespect...let me see that little wimp when he isnt cowarding behind his little glass window

Pharmacists refuse to release filled script to techs for my purchase, twice in 2 days - because, "We're too busy!"Phone calls direct to pharmacy are chronically disconnected. Callers must first call store's Customer Service Dept to request transfer to the pharmacy then hope pharmacy picks up phone. Generally process takes 20-40 minutes to reach pharmacy.Recently, 3 of my calls were disconnected by techs- 2 of which were on the same day. None called me back and I had to, again, call store's Customer Service Dept to -again- transfer to the pharmacy dept.Today, pharmacy staff allowed their phone to ring 31 minutes, 25 seconds NEVER answering before I disconnected. The Customer Service agent who transferred my call told me today he EVEN WALKED OVER TO PHARMACY AND TOLD THEM TO ANSWER THE PHONE... WHICH THEY IGNORED.A pharmacy tech made a slanderous comment about my good name and character to a supervisor but blatantly refused to explain or discuss it with me, claiming he's, "too busy."Head pharmacist is great but staff, and most other pharmacists, are not credible.Nothing but a hassle.Avoid this place like the plague.

We have been using this pharmacy for years now, and have recommended it many times, but they are going downhill fast. The timeframes for filling prescriptions is getting longer and longer, and the personal touch they used to have, where the techs knew your name, oh, that’s over.Today I was bringing my husband home from having surgery on his back. The pharmacy is between the hospital and our farm, and the Doctor said, don’t worry, we sent your prescription over long ago, so it should be ready when you get there. Our house is another 30 mins away, and the car ride was going to be miserable for my husband after his surgery, so I called the pharmacy at 4 to ensure that the prescription was ready. It will be ready at 5, they said. I asked if it could be ready at 4:30, so my husband wouldn’t need to be in the car for so long. No, it’s an hour wait for all prescriptions. I explained that the prescription had been sent over at 2:30, so technically, it should be ready already. He kept saying 5, and 1 hour, and I realized we were not communicating well, so I asked to speak with the pharmacist. I explained the situation, figuring she would realize the issue, and that it would have actually been 2 hours by 4:30. She started telling me that I could come in and take a number and shop. I told her that my concern wasn’t for me, but for my husband. (And I wasn’t asking for anything outside of the policy they were already stating to me on the phone). She didn’t budge. So we stopped there on the way home. My husband had recently canceled all of his prescriptions there, so this was the only one there. I went in, asked for the prescription for him, and was pleasantly surprised when they had it ready. I thanked the clerk profusely. We left. Got home, got settled. Came time for my husband to take his pain meds. IT WAS THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION! It was one of his old ones they had not canceled, as requested. So I had to drive back—1hr round trip, to get him his correct prescription. I made it just before the pharmacy closed. I explained what had happened—they shrugged. Not even an apology. As far as I’m concerned, their customer service is terrible, and I would not recommend them, ever!

Why why why does it take hours to fill a prescription.. I truly do not understand.. I have spent 3 hours of my Saturday off sitting at giant pharmacy listening to them tell me 20 mins 20 mins 20 mins the numbers haven’t changed on the numbering system for over an hour.. my regular pharmacy patient care up the street doesn’t have the medication so I made the mistake of coming here.. I will never do that again. This is unacceptable totally unacceptable my time is important to me how can they do this to people.. 5 more mins and I will just ask for my script back and wait a couple days for my pharmacy to get the meds. I truly can not understand how a huge chain pharmacy can’t find a better system than this
