“2026 Update: As my now 13-year-old Goldendoodle, Summer, faces what is likely the final chapter of her life, Missy Donley has been an absolute lifeline. She has patiently fielded countless phone calls, emails, and questions, found ways to get us in when we needed help, coordinated medications and supplies, and somehow always makes me feel like Summer is her priority. Caring for a senior dog with complex medical issues can be overwhelming, and Missy's kindness, responsiveness, and genuine compassion have made an incredibly difficult journey so much easier. I also want to recognize Dr. Erin Brown. Every pet owner hopes to find a veterinarian who treats their animal as if it were their own. Dr. Brown is that person. She has guided us through difficult decisions with honesty, compassion, and respect for what matters most to our family—keeping Summer comfortable and enjoying the time she has left. At no point have I felt pressured into pursuing tests or procedures that didn't align with Summer's quality of life. Instead, she has partnered with us to create a thoughtful comfort-care plan, and I know she will continue to be there for us, whatever lies ahead. The entire Hoffman team has been incredible. It's clear that everyone works together with one shared goal: providing exceptional care for both pets and the people who love them. 2025 Review: I’ve been bringing my Goldendoodle to Hoffman since she was 12 weeks old—she’s now 12 years. Last year, Dr. Muller noticed something concerning in my dog’s blood work and recommended a sonogram, given the breed’s predispositions. That scan revealed masses on her liver and spleen, which were biopsied: one showed normal aging changes and the other was inconclusive, so we opted to monitor her closely. A few weekends ago, my dog developed a sudden gastrointestinal upset. I took her to Hoffman on Monday morning, and once again Dr. Muller sprang into action—she discovered that the liver mass was bleeding. Under her guidance, I rushed my dog to Dogs & Cats in Bowie (another outstanding facility), where the bleeding was confirmed and surgery was performed the next day. In short, Dr. Muller’s expertise and swift action quite literally saved my dog’s life. This is precisely the kind of veterinarian you want in your corner—someone who sees issues early and moves decisively, giving you options when they matter most. I’m deeply grateful to Dr. Muller and the entire Hoffman team for their exceptional care, compassion, and skill.”

“As my cat Rikki has been dealing with an ongoing eye issue that started with an eye injury, I decided to get him into an eye specialist because it wasn't improving. I'm so glad that I took him here because I found out that he's having vision problems in both eyes. From the moment I called to make the appointment, I felt at ease because it's definitely stressful for our pets to go to the vet and can be a financial strain as well. The staff was very transparent about the fee, which includes the exams. They are very reasonable for a specialist. I absolutely loved the friendly receptionist who made the appointment and they booked an appointment that was very soon. When I took Rikki to his appointment this week, he was crying in his carrier so the staff took us into a room right away because he was so stressed out. The tech came in very quickly and began the initial part of the exam. Rikki was shy but he must have felt very comfortable with her because he cooperated very well. Dr. Hyman came in and we both felt very at ease. She was very thorough and she could immediately see why his left eye was still dilated. I found out that has Uveitis which can be very worrisome. His eye injury had healed but both eyes are affected by the condition. I felt bad because I didn't know that he had previous eye issues but she assured me that it's so easy to miss it because cats don't always present with symptoms that we can see. She ordered eye drops and blood work which was going to be quite expensive but they did tell me about the payment plans. You can do Care Credit or Scratch pay (which is easier if you have no credit or so-so credit). The blood panel is very important so they can find a cause for the Uveitis. Sometimes one can't be found but they can treat it with medication to prevent blindness. Dr. Hyman even was very helpful because we discussed the diagnosis because of my worries about the pet insurance. I am hopeful that I get reimbursed but I wouldn't put a price on getting my cat to a healthier place. Rest assured, there are Vets that truly care about their patients and pet guardians. If your cat or dog has an eye injury or problem, please take them to see her. I really wish that she could be his regular veterinarian! Thank you Dr. Hyman and your amazing staff. I look forward to working with you with Rikki's care. I truly hope to find a new regular primary veterinarian like you who cares as much.”
