FYI, this is pretty lengthy, but I did want to make sure all of the details were stated. Something happened at CVS pharmacy in Eldersburg today.
I’m feeling very ill, all the yucky symptoms. Went to patriot urgent care (10/10 experience). Turns out, I have the flu. They sent over two prescriptions to CVS, tamiflu and cough medicine. I went to go pick them up in the drive through right away. The person behind the window at CVS first said they only saw a script for tamiflu. I said there should be 3 scripts: 1 previous script and 2 new ones, tamiflu and cough medicine. She said the cough medicine was OTC, and I could get it in the store (they didn’t want to fill it?) and that tamiflu and other script would be ready in 25 minutes. I drove around and came back 45 minutes later. I pulled up to the drive through window again, to be met by the same person I saw last time. I picked up the scripts, then went inside for cough medication.
When I went inside to look for the cough medication, I couldn’t find it. I went to the pharmacy counter and said I couldn’t find this OTC med, and that the person by the window told me I could get it OTC. The shift supervisor helped me, she was great. She stated that medication was for cough syrup, and actually could be filled by prescription, so she went and spoke with the other person at the window. And then another person at a computer chimed in (clearly very irritated with me that I was asking questions) and said it couldn’t be filled. The shift supervisor came back and explained that the doctor wants me to take something that needs to be purchased behind the counter mixed with an allergy medication. So I asked why the other person said I could buy it OTC? Then the person who was behind the computer started yelling through her mask that the medication prescribed is not commercially available. I asked why she was yelling, and that I’m really sick and just looking to get this resolved.
So I left there with behind the counter meds, after being told 3 different things, that I could get the cough medicine OTC, then I actually couldn’t get it OTC only behind the counter, and then the cough medicine wasn’t commercially available???
I called the doctor, they made the change to the script and sent the correct prescription over. Then they told the doctor they won’t fill the new script because my insurance wouldn’t cover it…? Who’s to say I didn’t want to pay for the cough syrup? They made the decision for me. I’m just baffled by how I was treated by the person behind the window and behind the computer. The shift supervisor helped, but NO ONE told me to call my doctor to correct the original script.
-A very sick someone who just wants to feel better.

Unreliable minute clinic. Booked minute clinic appointment over the phone for today at 9:30 AM for an urgent immunization. It was auto cancelled last minute with no explanation. Arrived to find no one there. The main CVS staff present tried to help by calling the Minute Clinic call center, but the call center was unhelpful.

Spent about 30 min just with one person ahead of me in a line to the register, no one was there. When I called someone, she came and left again for another 10 min.

This CVS doesn’t even deserve a 0. Every month I am on the phone with them for hours trying to get my medication and somehow they never have the ability to fill it or put in any effort in trying to doing so. They can’t even provide adequate direction and they have absolutely no desire to help, whether it impacts your health or not. If you are looking for a pharmacy that has the ability to give you the medicine your doctor has prescribed you, don’t go here.

Closing for lunch is absurd. I will never get my prescription refilled here again. They are just standing behind the counter refusing to help me for 30 minutes. The workers here are rude and ignorant. Go somewhere else

Kathleen was so helpful and kind! I was having trouble locating an item that was advertised online. Kathleen helped me find it and made sure we got the sale price. It was a breath of fresh air to have a store employee who actually cared about her customer's needs.

They are poor in customer service. They filled the wrong prescription and then made me pay for it. They were not empathetic to me at all. I have been dealing with them screwing prescriptions up all of the time. This time I am done!

To the pharmacist that helped me find something for my poison ivy spread—thank you so much. What a relief. Super helpful guy, I only glanced at his name tag, I think it said junior pharmacist.
