massage Envy has continuously canceled massages and or not had massages available in a timely manner. During the pandemic we had To put our Massage Envy account on hold during the freeze and then subsequently we were told we needed to cancel our account and that once we re-upped it, we would be able to use our over 10 prepaid accumulated massages that were prepaid since that time they have declined To reinstate our membership so that we could use our prepaid massages for two people each having 15 massages saved up. At this point, we have to go to the legal system to get our money back and our massages reinstated and corporate is not helpful at all either. we have been present at Massage Envy, Columbia, and delicate city where customers have come in screaming that they’re unable to get their prepaid massages and we’ve been told by employees that it is a frightening environment to be in. There is a lot of anger and not enough people to oerform massages for even though people who are members make your own decisions of what you want to do here. The aggravation they have caused us can never be rectified. In my opinion, run as far away as you can

Very disappointed. The massage I received was terrible, felt like a complete waste of time. On top of that, I got charged a $15 "market adjustment" for the massage without being informed. Will not return to this location.

The much older woman (with the rainbow colored hair) who just gave me a 60 minute massage was rude, didn't give the whole time for the massage ( I took a picture of the clock) as there was time still remaining, got annoyed when I asked to use the restroom and because I was lying face up initially when she said face down. Her tone and attitude were very condescending. The cheap and terribly smelling body oil smelled like gasoline and made me itch all over, so I had ro rush home to shower! She did not know what she was doing, and I get massages regularly. It seemed like she was making stuff up as she went along to kill time! Stay away from this shady business!! No wonder there are several BBB complaints from this scam of a place!

Today I was surprised with a massage. My experience at this location was not the greatest. They need more massage therapists, a better front desk person, and someone who takes care of the rooms prior to service they should be ready. I will say the therapist Rebecca delivered on the massage once we actually got started. However, getting the room, and table right even though it was an afternoon appointment took awhile. My check in and getting in the room and on the table was very frantic. The table wasn’t hot. The building was cold. The front desk lady was unwelcoming and confused. The system wasn’t working when the therapist was doing the consultation for my appointment. She didn’t have towels, oil, had to get a heating pad from another room, and the volume of the room sounds needed to be turned down. Walking in and before my massage the energy was very unsettling and not calm at all. Rebecca did deliver on the massage once we finally got started.

This place has gone way downhill fast. My rep Tiffany lacked customer service and massaging skills. She was so defensive and had an attitude when trying to communicate with her. She didn't follow my profile requests and wanted me out of the room so quickly. Her massaging skills are so amateur for the price I paid for an hour session. I called and left a message requesting for a return call from the manager but never got a call back. The reception staff were great and friendly! Don't waste your money at this place.

This store has gone down hill and lacks in customer service. Now I want to cancel because I couldn't get a reply to my complaints. Now I can't even get a reply to cancel. Today I call the girl who answered said she didn't understand why I was so upset. That comment right there is the perfect example of the lack of customer service. So I guess I'll just go to the bank and cancel my debit card so they can't even charge my card. If they won't cancel my account or reply to a complaint in a timely manner, I'll cancel it for them. The next complaint will be to the BBB.

I have five years of service I cannot use and they won t cancel when they say they have. Next stop is to hire an lawyer and see what they can accomplish. Cannot get anyone on the phones any more as they just ring and ring with no answer. I need help.

I had a great first massage with Chris! I’m a local hairstylist and I need massages to continue to do my work. She understood the assignment! I will be back.

They have become impossible to reach! I don't know who's idea it was to set up an answering service instead of allowing calls to be directly taken by staff but unless you walk in it's pretty much impossible to get anything done at this location now. I have been a member here for over 10 years, and don't know what happened? A management change, understaffing, who knows? All I know is my membership is pretty much impossible to use now, will be transfering to another ME location ASAP. I would recommend no one sign up here and find a difference clinic if you'd like to become a member.

I’ve been a member here for years but in the last couple of years this place has gone completely downhill. Appointments are hard to come by and any good masseuse doesn’t stay here long. Good luck trying to get a 90 minute massage (the 50 minutes they give you for the 60 minutes you pay for really isn’t enough time). They hate booking those. From what I’ve heard they care a lot more about getting new members in the door than they do about their existing client base. This is part of why good masseuses don’t stay here long. If you try to cancel your membership they will give you the run around. I physically stopped in to cancel and was told I have to call and select option 4. No one answers that line and no one calls back if you leave a message. I started calling and hitting the option for booking appointments just so someone would answer. The first person I spoke with kept asking why I wanted to cancel and then asked to put me on hold. She hung up on me. I called back and she said she put in the request for my cancellation and I would get an email in 7-10 days. Over 2 weeks later and no email and of course I’ve been charged again. Called again today and spoke with someone who was actually competent and apologetic. I had her add in her note to management about cancellation that I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau if this isn’t handled in the next 7 days. Whatever you do don’t get a membership here.

This location is HORRIBLE! The have the most unprofessional staff at the front desk. Young lady was not welcoming, passive aggressive, and very rude to an older couple I had to say something to her about her behavior. The massage was okay. I'm sorry but if I'm going to pay $130 plus tips for this type of service, I'll take my business elsewhere.

I can’t stress it enough, if you are thinking about this location DON’T. All of the previous reviews within the last year below have mostly been three stars and under for a reason. I had previously gone to this location for a massage, mind you my home location was not in Maryland so I had never been to this massage envy before. I scheduled this massage over the phone and had been aware that I would need to pay a fee due to the difference. Upon arriving the receptionist, without even greeting me or asking me if I had an appointment, told me I had to pay the service cost difference before my massage and was not welcoming in the slightest. After arriving at my appointment 5 mines late fully aware that this cut into my appointment time (all massage envys have that policy), I thought that after paying I would be immediately be taken into my appointment. But unprofessional as this location is, my masseuse was happily chatting away with another coworker eating away another 15-20 minutes of my time. Most recently, I missed an appointment (which was my own doing) but this location decided to deduct a complete credit (70 dollar value). Never in all of my massage envy memberships spanning over 2 years, has my home location or any massage envy location I ever visited deduct a whole credit due to a miss appointment. I understand it is a business but that amount is absurd for an unused service and shows a lack of compassion for peoples circumstances. To end this review, every review I have read through on here is responded in kind with a generic message from the owner giving the franchise number to report peoples concerns furthering my point that this location lacks compassion, understanding, and professionalism.

I have emailed multiple times in the last month in addition to going in person to cancel my membership due to medical reasons with documentation from my physician - i keep getting charged for memberships. Even when I could go there was never availability for massages, you can only book one month out and all the appts are already booked for the month every time. I’ve wasted so much money and money keeps getting taken every month even though I’ve submitted all the documentation necessary to cancel. Poor business practices.
