We've been here a few times for the summer production of the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. It is always such a great time. We usually get a table and have a picnic with friends. Just be aware that you need to walk a little bit to get from the regular parking area up to the stage. But you can get dropped off if you aren't able to walk that far.

I come her for the Chesapeake Shakespeare Theater Company shows.I have seen Dracula, MacBeth, Anthony and Cleopatra, Romeo and Juliet and a few others. Just a wonderful place to experience live theater.Really cool facility, bring your entire family. Do check the weather before going, if there is a storm on the way, reschedule for another day.

So this is an interesting review.... I came to the Patapsco Female Institute to take in "Macbeth" from the Chesapeake Shakespeare company. For this.... the institute's ground are beautiful and just perfect for this event. We had a most wonderful picnic before the show and then just loved the performance. We look forward to finding a time to visit just to visit and enjoy the grounds.

Chesapeake Shakespeare Theater's productions are wonderfully done. The backdrop of the Patapsco Female Institute ruins provide extra ambiance for the shows. Highly recommend!

Chesapeake Shakespeare Company continues to entertain with fantastic performances here during the summer! The ruins give a perfect backdrop and provide a lovely area for patrons to picnic before a show. Be prepared for showers as there's no covered area to retreat to in the event of rain, and parking is some distance down the hill (though there is close parking for patrons with disabilities).

I actually stumbled upon this while exploring the Baltimore area. It's funny how you find interesting things. I will research later and expound on my find

If you can line up you schedule with the few hours they're open it is a cool place to see, especially in the fall. Lots of big old trees. There were several porta potties that were about as clean as a porta pottie can be.

This is an amazing place for photos! We got our wedding first look photos taken at PFI, and we couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous setting.

Beautiful site! I’m a local and I’d heard of this place before but just never visited. We pulled up to the gate and were greeted by Ed, who later met us at the parking lot and walked around the ground. He actually ended up giving us a small, private tour! It was unexpected and we really enjoyed it. Without Ed, we would have still gotten out and walked around the grounds, but we wouldn’t have had nearly as a positive experience. Looking forward to the commemorative garden from the student’s diary for the 250th anniversary of Ellicott City!

Beautifully maintained ruins. (it may be an oxymoron but true). Great views of Ellicott city. It is open on on weekends from 1pm to 4pm unless they have special events. Check the website.

What a cool space. You can have weddings and other events here. I went to a ghost tour here. It used to be a well to do girls boarding school. Nowadays, there is also Shakespeare in the park here. There is a fire pit area.

Really neat unless you stumble upon the many weddings happening there. Then you're just kinda in the way.
