Truly perfect! We slept there one night on the way to Florida and another on our return. Quiet parking at the rear with access to a park. Dogs are allowed there ?. Large, very clean toilet rooms and beautiful building architecture. Definitely on my list of favorites for an upcoming road trip!

For rest area or welcome center it was a pretty cool place. They have vending machines with just about anything you want

Welcome Center is located at Rest Area in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Amenities include travel information on the State of Maryland and Washington, D.C.; vending machines; water fountains; restrooms; and recycle bins. The Center also features truck, RV, and bus parking lots; and picnic tables and benches. No dumping station is available.
