I am a customer at this bank. I am very upset with this bank because they will not get their sign fixed so that it is virtually impossible to know where to turn during rush hour on Eastern avenue. thank you M&T it's not like you take enough money from us or anything.

They never answer the phone to make an appointment and the notary leaves early! I went there 2 times and was not helped either time. Also I waited over 2 hours with the last appointment.

Why does every black woman have to pull the race card. Please get over yourselves already. This is becoming overly annoying. People do have bad days, doesn't mean they're automatically racist. ? *sigh* being white doesn't make you automatically racist. There is a diverse staff that works here, I remember the black woman not greeting me, she must be racist. See where I'm going with this. Find something better to complain about. Have a great day ?

Oh sister Hannah I don't hate playing the race card because in this area of Essex where a lot of lower income/educated White people reside as a Black woman I experience racism on a daily basis. The White women that work here look at you like you're nothing when you're more educated than they are. Plain and simple this branch is racist. The woman in charge Tessa does her best but her staff needs to be replaced. It's 2022 don't they know having a racist staff is just bad for business not to mention a liability for any business, even a bank?

Waiting over 40 minutes for a wire. 2 associates helping others and another making calls while another took a break. With a line of people waiting. Where’s the customer service!?!? Never coming back to this branch again!!!

Went in today to open a business account. Got there at least by 4:35ish pm and figured it wouldn't take too long to get me set up especially since I already have a personal checking and savings here. I was very disappointed that Tessi said she couldn't do it even though I was a customer and they were still open with at least 20-25 minutes to spare. Honestly if she were concerned with showcasing good customer service she would have opened the account instead of having me make an appointment for the next day. Due to the convenience of already having an account here I will come back tomorrow and open the account I need for my business but soon I'll move to another bank for both my business and personal accounts. I can't stand poor customer service. No wonder this M&T branch has barely 2 and half stars. I guess Google ratings mean nothing nowadays to convince a business to get into shape before they start losing precious business.

Went in on Saturday, 2-27-21, just to get some beneficiary papers notarized. There was only 1 banker in the office area who was working with 3 elderly people in her cubicle and had 1 person waiting to be helped, then me and my wife after that. In the 20 minutes we waited before leaving to get our papers notarized somewhere else this lady had got up to do something in the tellers area and knowing she had a line of people waiting she decided to strike up a 3 minute conversation with someone she knew waiting in the tellers line. You are at work, do your job! And to all the elderly people... go to the bank on the weekdays, Saturday is for people who work during the week to use the bank.

Poor customer service. Went in with an appointment to open new account and was patiently waiting. Someone came in minutes after me without an appointment for something quick apparently... There was two openings, one at the glass, and another at the desk. They directed the lady without an appointment to the desk and me to the glass where I was taken through a lengthy process, standing up, yelling my personal information through the glass to open an account. Terrible experience I hate to play the race card but I that's what it was. The lady without the appointment was a older white women and so was the associate that directed us. The associate actually didn't even have anyone she was helping but stood up when she saw the other women walk in. Honestly disappointed and hurt.
