I accepted an offer from Carmax to purchase my 2022 BMW convertible and I exchanged it for an Audi SUV. The whole process was smooth from start to finish. I'd definitely recommend using Carmax.

This is the worst experience I've have ever had buying a car. The junk they sell is shameful. The 28k vehicle is bought has been in the shop for 4 months out of the year. Yes I got the warranty. Thank god but what do I do for a vehicle. Now it's still in the shop and I have no transportation and they have no words for me. If I want to spend more money I can get a different opinion. I already spent 1600 for repairs. They do not sell quality vehicles nor do anything about it when they do screw you over. The jeep we traded in left us sit 3xs on the highway. I am saying 400 a month for a vehicle I don't even get to drive. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere.

Ashu our sales person was great. He took the time to explain everything to us. I was disappointed to find out that the picture that were posted on the website with the winch in the back of the Gladiator I purchased was missing the day we drove over 90 miles to purchase. Nothing was done about it we were not told who took it and they refused to have it replaced and told us we could purchase our own. Part of the reason I was purchasing it was because it came with it. I would like to thank the employee who took it out of the back and now has it at home with them cause I got screwed out of that part. Other then a stolen piece and almost 6 hours of going back and forth on things they wouldn’t budge on we purchased it but I won’t come back for another vehicle.

We sold a vehicle to CarMax, and I must say it was one of the most pleasant and painless experiences I have had in regards to an auto dealership. From the simple online offer process to the quick and easy visit to the store. Everyone we spoke to or dealt with was very friendly and informative. Will certainly consider doing business with CarMax in the future.

Great experience with the salesman I worked with but the service department was okay…
CarMax’s warranty standards absolutely suck… I was sold a vehicle with tire rot (I told the salesman before test driving and was told I could get them replaced). During the evaluation I was told “The cracking is superficial” and that “these tires would pass MD safety inspection(s), AND for CarMax to replace them “The cords of the tires need to be exposed”….
I am not happy with them about this… especially since I purchased the highest priced MaxCare; warranty being 125,000 miles… ridiculous..!

If I could have given a negative star I would have. Save yourself the hassle and the trouble. I bought a 2019 jeep renegade with 18k miles on it. Few days into it I realize the AC does not work so I took it back to them to get fixed. They had it for a week and some change so the 10 day return thing didn't work for me because they had it the whole time. They did give me a rental for this repair however they had outsourced the repair. I didn't get to choose the repair shop I never got a repair receipt from the place until months later when I requested it. The repair shop they sent it to never put the caps back onto the AC plug part and left two washers just sitting on the engine part that holds nuts and bolts during repairs. I don't even know where they belong. At 22k miles my check engine light and my transmission light comes on. I take it in to CarMax and of course they can't repair it (jeep dealer has to) and they can't give me a rental. I am now stuck with no vehicle still making a 500$ payment on a car that is stuck in the shop for 30-90 days. I've never heard of buying a new vehicle and the transmission blowing and the buyer being left high and dry by CarMax. Not to mention them sending it to some random repair shop that left pieces off my car and somehow my 800$ apple tablet went missing! Not to mention it was sold to me and drove 30 miles with no fluids. The day after I bought it I took it to get an oil change and it was bone dry on all fluids Valvoline was shocked I was even able to make it. I went in and spoke to the people at CarMax who acted like I was lying and wanted to pay an oil change. They also said they have a detailed inspection on the car before sale. Please tell me why the vehicle has 8 different engine codes? Ranging from back up camera short to alignment to engine issues?!?!?! I need a vehicle I work an hour away. The least they could have done was get me in a rental! None of this is my fault!!!!!!!! I'm in utter disbelief and everyone I tell says the same thing! My warranty only covers a rental for 7 days even with the repair being 30-90 days!!!!!!! Just save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. They will treat you so good when you purchase and then treat you like a lying pain in the you know what after!!!!
