The Ft. Detrick Commissary is a pretty nice, though small, store located conveniently close to the entrance. It is generally well-stocked with all the essentials and reliably offers good savings, making it a great place to shop when needing to pinch pennies. The staff is consistently noted as polite, helpful, friendly, and competent, often going out of their way to provide excellent customer service. The store is clean, organized, and better run than many others. The meat section is particularly good, while the fresh produce can be hit or miss, sometimes being out of stock to maintain freshness. The selection of ethnic foods is limited. The store brand products are considered uniformly mediocre. Checkout is manageable with regular lanes and some self-checkouts. Overall, it is a reliably great experience and a pretty good stop for those with military privileges.
A small, but nice Commissary, for those authorized to use it. An earned benefit for the military.

I was super satisfied with the customer service here. I was struggling with my groceries and two young ladies went out of their way to not only give me a ride to the barracks, but help me take the groceries upstairs. Those young ladies names were April and Carrol (spelling may be wrong). I'm more than thankful!
