As I mentioned in my review, we were looking for a new EV. I am still disappointed with the previous dealer. But I did see the perfect EV on the lot of the FMC. I reached out, and from top to bottom, the experience was awesome. Mike Kephart is the salesperson to ask for. He listens and makes sure you are connected with everything you need. Overall, the dealership is clean and friendly, and the process is really easy. Total time spent 3 hours. Oh yeah and we drove a new EV home yesterday!

Don't buy your diesel work truck from here. They can't service it in timely manner. 4 week wait for appointment and been that way for 4 years. Just ask, they get annoyed that you don't know! Now this is a big problem and hassle for your customers that they obviously don't care about. The answer is pay your diesel mechanics, more money and hire them. Seriously... You can't solve this problem that your customers have in four years?

Please go everywhere but here, why come to a job that you clearly don't want to do? They act like the only dealership yet they are a smallish compared to the next one down the street. Absolute trash staff, Appalling, and gave us such a nasty experience. Right off the entrance you get attitude. They already formed an opinion of us and what we can't do. Gave us a nightmarish experience and thank God they acted up and we didn't get to do any business. We drove a few miles and got the vehicle we wanted and in the terms that we wanted.Goofy ass uncivilized behavior

Review breakdown: Sales - 5 stars. Service - 5 stars. Parts - 1 star (because zero not possible). SALES: I located a vehicle at FMC that seemed to exactly fit what I was looking for. I emailed back and forth with Sales, who thoroughly answered every question I had, including sending pictures I requested. We set an appointment, and texted to ensure all was in order in advance. When I arrived the vehicle was ready and waiting for me to test drive. During the drive, I noted a few items I wanted addressed, such as a turn signal lamp out. I had a few other things that became part of the negotiations. We all know this is a weird time to buy a car. Just remember, dealers still need to sell them. At FMC, the sales process was transparent and fair--as well as friendly and respectful. I recommend their Sales department without hesitation! SERVICE: I brought said vehicle in for a major service. The Service department discussed what would be needed and what we could skip. A few weeks later, when I arrived for my appointment, I had an additional request--the vehicle was dripping oil spots on my driveway, and I wanted that fixed. This was covered under dealer warranty...but turned out to require overnight work. The Service department worked with Sales to arrange a loaner vehicle for me to use, and everything was completed as scheduled. Again, this was fair and transparent. It can be frustrating to wait for service these days, but I feel confident FMC did a great job. PARTS: sorry to end on a down note, but I was hoping to purchase a few hundred dollars' worth and to pick everything up on my service visit. Unfortunately, I never got through to the Parts folks over two days of calling, and they don't seem to have an email address. They also don't return voicemails. For Ford or Subaru parts, I advise Yelpers to look *anywhere* else. Frederick Motor Company sales and service teams are great to deal with. Five stars apiece!

I bought a vehicle from The Frederick Motor Company (FMC) a few months ago. Unfortunately the experience reinforced the stereotype that the vast majority of dealers are unethical, to put it politely. There were three primary issues: 1) On the day I submitted my order, the salesperson insisted, several times, that if there were any MSRP increases before the delivery date, I would have to pay them. S/he went on to say "they are usually small". Ford offers "Automatic Price Protection" for all retail orders, and has for years. Any MSRP increases only apply to new orders, submitted after the date of the increase -- they do not apply retroactively, to existing orders (which is as it should be). The salesperson had years of experience, so it is highly unlikely they were not aware of the price protection program. That begs the question, why lie about it? A cynical person might conclude that there is a way for the dealership and/or salesperson to pocket the price protection rebate from Ford, if the customer is unaware it exits. As for the size of the MSRP increases -- on the vehicle I ordered, there were at least 2 price increases, totaling $2,600, prior to delivery. Hardly 'small'. Around the same time, the MSRP on other Ford models jumped by up to $5,000 in one shot! It's easy to see why the salesperson might pretend price protection does not exist -- the rebate would be a nice "bonus" if the customer doesn't know better. Of course it would also be fraud. 2) I was also told that labor is not included in the price of dealer installed accessories. That was false, and also attempted fraud. The labor charges would have been hundreds of dollars extra. 3) My vehicle, like many/most Fords, qualified for the $1,000 'order credit'. That's a Ford incentive to encourage buyers to place orders (rather than buy off the lot), knowing the delays can be months long. It was never mentioned at any time up through delivery -- I had to bring it up. Both the salesperson and another seasoned employee insisted that my vehicle did not qualify for the $1,000 credit. I had to search online and find a Ford webpage confirming that the credit did indeed apply. Then, after I'd found the page, neither of them even bothered to look at it! It was as if they knew all along that my vehicle qualified, and once I found the proof they knew their scam was up. Again, a cynical person might suspect that there is a way for the dealer and/or salesperson to keep that $1,000 credit if they can convince the customer it doesn't apply (or the customer is unaware of it). More attempted fraud -- and '3 strikes'. I have intentionally not mentioned names because a) my intent is to warn potential FMC customers, not get employees in trouble, and b) I cannot be absolutely, 100%, 'beyond the shadow of a doubt' sure that they were aware of: price protection; the potential size of MSRP increases; the fact that labor is included in the price of dealer installed options; and the $1,000 order credit being applicable to my purchase. That said, it is next to impossible to believe that 2 car sales professionals, with decades of experience between them, were completely ignorant of all of the above. I'm all but certain they knew full well what they were doing, but there is a vanishingly small chance that it was ignorance and/or incompetence on their part. Either way though, the result is the same -- a buyer at FMC may end up paying WAY more than they should. I had purchased a car from FMC years ago and that was a positive experience. The negative reviews I read prior to going there this time were almost exclusively for the service dept -- sales seemed OK -- so I went in with my guard down. I was not expecting their multiple attempts to rip me off. It was the complete opposite of my previous experience. In fairness, the reviews of the Ford dealers in Hagerstown and Mount Airy were even more negative. So there's a good chance the buying experience at either of them would have been just as ba

Booked an appointment to duplicate a key and had to wait 2 months. When I finally showed up the first time, they then told me that they actually don't have the proper key model to even make the duplicate, so they told me to come back in 3 days. Okay, 25 minutes wasted there. Came back, waited an hour, only to be told the machine broke the keys and they no longer have sets to make more duplicates. So now I have to come back a third time when they supposedly get the copies back. Chris, the manager, this one's for you to set right. Please get your operation in order.

Found the used truck i have been waiting for at frederick ford. met david in used cars, i knew from the moment i shook his hand , that i found the right man to buy my truck from . very friendly and no pressure at all . we took the truck for a great road test. i was very impressed, great price for the truck , i also recieved a good trade in for my other vehicle. also i was very pleased that they do not have any hidden fees on top of the sales price which i had found at another dealer. i am very happy and i am now a life long customer , if you are in the market for a great used vehicle , stop and see david . you will not be dissapointed .

This place literally hates their customers more than anywhere I've ever been. Every time I've ever been to the parts department, the two guys behind the counter love to make you stand there while they're on the phone and ignore you for as long as possible. It's basically where they send their employees as punishment instead of just firing them. Anyone you walk up to is basically being interrupted from whatever it was they actually cared about. And they have a "quick lube" that should remove that sign because there's nothing quick about it. Every time I've taken my vehicle there for any kind of service, I'm either told that they're about to close or that there's a six hour wait. Nothing about this place is good, keep your distance.

Frederick Motor Company scored again. Went to get a CAR KEY made. Guess what? They said it would take two weeks and an hour's labor. To get a key made. A key. Made. Then argued with me on how ridiculous that was.

The Ford motor service department is the worst place to get your car repairs. The service representatives are so unprofessional, lazy, and don't care about how they Interact with the customers. They are extremely robotic and rude. They will try to get you to get everything in the book to maximize their profits, EVEN if you have a WARRANTY! Don't go there it's a bunch of scammers. Also like another reviewer said FORD dealer tells you when you buy the extended warranty that you can get a rental, loaner car if your car needs repairs but it's a LIE they claim they only have 3 loaners and that they are always being used already, and don't want to bother to get you a rental even though it's in your warranty agreement. They plainly just give you excuses as to why they can't. If you are buying the FORD EXTENDED warranty thinking your covered, your NOT and DONT EXPECT A RENTAL OR LOANER CAR.
