As a pilot advocacy association AOPA is a great. The less than stellar rating is for AOPA finance and not AOPA itself. Some of their services, namely AOPA Finance are pretty useless, provides terrible communications, terrible service and will complete tasks whenever they decide to get around to it. They only broker the loans and couldn't really care less if they get their part completed on time or not. Do yourself a favor and shop a local bank for the loan. You'll be much happier if you do. You may actually be able to get in touch with someone sooner than 4-5 days later after you leave a message asking them to call you back.
