This morning I waited over an hour with my five year old to see a provider to be told that my son was not able to be seen. I am a nurse practitioner myself, and I was astonished by the behavior of the np Joelle Heyser and her assistant at the Minute Clinic in Urbana. My five year old has been sick for several days now- and after not being able to get in by his pediatrician I was told to take him to minute clinic or urgent care. My experiences here at minute clinic have always been great however today will. be the last time I step foot in a minute clinic. I checked into the clinic at 0930- the waiting room was empty. I then saw two families walk in and they were taken ahead of my son who had been patiently waiting and checked in. I was then told there were glitches in the system and that was why the two families ahead of us were seen. Again, I understand wait times and glitches can occur- I continued to wait. One hour later, I see the nurse bring in yet another family who checked in after us. My son is immunocompromised- the first thing he should have done was been seen and triaged appropriately. Instead 90 minutes later four families were seen ahead of us after I continually pointed out to both the nurse practitioner and the nurse that we had been waiting for 90 minutes. The only excuse they had for me was there is a glitch in the system. My sons name was on the waiting room board for 90 minutes- there is NO glitch in the system, The reality is the nurse and nurse practitioner were incompetent with care being provided. We are now sitting in an emergency room and now my son has a fever of 103 F. If we were triaged appropriately and seen when we arrived- we would have answers as to why his fever is so high- being immunocomprised, he is at high risk of deteriorating fast. My son's health should have been prioritized and instead the nurse practitioner Joelle Heyser put my son's health at the last of her priorities and want to discuss and focus on "glitches" in the system to excuse herself from doing the right thing and seeing my son.

Visited minute clinic a day earlier and was tested for Flu which was negative. I declined covid test as I was told insurance may not cover. Next day Tested +ve for Covid , requested Paxlovid via phone to the same provider ,due to my health issues. Was denied and asked to come in again and test as they won't prescribe based off my home test results. My Primary Care prescribed it over telehealth without any issues just via confirmation that I tested +ve at home test , This saved me a trip to ER / Hospital and 1000s of $. Would not recommend.

Terrible experience yesterday. Registered for Antigen testing. Sat there for 90 min and then I was told that the test can not be performed because of computer issues. Total waste of not only my time but two more were waiting for 90 minutes. Total disregard for people.

I went to the Minute Clinic looking for a steroid prescription for poison oak. The Nurse Practitioner at this location would not listen to me and insisted I did not have poison oak. I had a very serious wound that needed immediate care and that she could not treat me. She asked me if I was in pain. When I said, "No, just itchy," she said I probably had nerve damage! She made a few notes in her computer and then as I was leaving told me I was going to receive a bill for my co-pay! I went straight to urgent care where they listened to me, looked at my growing poison oak rash and wrote me a prescription for a steroid. Less than 24 hours later, my rash is on its way to a quick recovery. I would not recommend this location's minute clinic or the NP at this location.

Do not waste your time - I set up 2 appointments to get tested and both were cancelled 15 minutes after I got there...Both appointments were made for on consecutive days, the second was made when the first cancelled - I gave them a second chance, sometimes you have a bad day - my mistake.I did make the appointments when snow was expected and figured if they were going to cancel they would do so ahead of time - that is not the case. Both times I ended up waiting 15+ minutes before I got notification they were cancelled and both with no explanation on why. Another person sitting for an appointment was there and was nice enough to let me know why the appointment was cancelled. People were still pulling in when I was leaving - then as I was in my car on the way home they called and the CVS employee sounded frustrated gave a brief reason and hung up on me.Bottom line - go somewhere else, poor customer service and they do not respect appointment times.

I’ve been on hold for over four hours today and two hours yesterday. The lady that answered yesterday was nice enough but not helpful and whoever answered today was polite but put me back on hold and never came back. The only reason I refuse to hang up is because someone answered after two hours, so I’m hanging onto hope. Do not go here for covid testing. It’s convenient but not worth it whatsoever.

The Nurse Practitioner at this location completely misdiagnosed my condition. Went there to evaluate wounds on my leg due to a fall on concrete. She took one look at my leg, said my leg was infected, and that I had to immediately go to the ER to be infused (IV) with antibiotics. Told me she could not treat me with an oral antibiotic. I immediately drove to the ER. Doctor there took one look to my leg and said it was not infected. Hospital did blood work to confirm his diagnosis. They re-bandaged my leg and sent me home. I would not recommend this location's minute clinic or the NP at this location.
