Friendly staff! Prices are not the best and the items for sale are not that great and not a lot to choose from.

I dropped off my donations here as I choose to support businesses that use their profit to help those in need. While shopping inside, I had a long & blessed conversation with a friendly employee. I've seen him there there many times over the past 5 years. Even though only half my face is visible, (I still have to wear a mask for health reasons) he remembers me.

I was there in the evening time and they was bringing furniture from the truck directly to the Sales floor ! We called earlier that day and asked him if they spray the couches for bedbugs and they stated they did. But seeing as they were bringing and the furniture right off the truck I do not believe this. If you plan to come shop please come early in the morning that is only how you’re going to be the people that sell on eBay. Which I believe that is not fair because people come here to get things cheaper not to have to go out and pay more for them because of everybody scooping up things for Ebay to make money . Very LGBT friendly

When we walked in to this location the sign on the door (which was not scratched out at the time) said furniture 75% off. Inside they had a gorgeous china cabinet on the sales floor with a price tag attached for $99.00, which after the 75% discount would be around $25.00.Upon approaching the gentleman behind the counter for clarification that the discount applied to this piece of furniture I was told that it was not for sale, despite being on the sales floor with a clearly marked price tag on it. The reasoning of the "salesperson" was nonsensical "We're about to shut down and we're doing the floors." This was around 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and their posted hours said they close at 5:00pm, and they had no indication that they were shutting down, the store was crowded and the sign said open (in addition to the previously established 5:00pm closing time). After discussing the fact that it's a poor business practice to have an item out on the sales floor with a clearly marked price tag and to refuse to sell said item, the not-salesman explained that "it's not a perfect world" and went outside and scratched out "furniture" on the posted discount sign.Shop at ReStore across the street, they have a much better selection, the employees are actually helpful, and if they post a discount, they will actually honor said discount.

I'd say this was an above average SA, prices tend to run high at all SA locations and their sorting process isn't a thorough, but this store was organized well and cleaner than most. I visited in Nov 2021 but did leave empty handed. Staff was nice, kinda an in/out for me as I immediately scan a store quickly and if I don't see what I'm looking for at first glance I move on. This was one of those places that nothing caught my eye and I kept it moving.

The staff is astoundingly rude--if you want to make a donation, and you call to confirm they're taking donations, you should plan on a drop off within the hour. We called at the end of day Friday and were turned away Monday--with an attitude. (Curiously, we were turned away by the person who confirmed that they were taking donations!) Of course, we shouldn't have been donating here in the first place, given the Salvation Army's long, sordid history of discrimination, but I was conscripted by family to empty the trunk after confirmation that this location was taking donations. The reversal in attitude was galling. I brought in an armful of goods and watched an employee interact with customers. They were told to have a blessed day, called various pet names, and we were treated like scum that had been stepped in. Then we were informed our donation wasn't good enough. So make sure everything you bring in is brand new, with tags, and hermetically sealed.I was raised Christian. In many ways, this behavior isn't surprising. I've seen it my whole life. But I also know what the New Testament preaches, and if the Salvation Army--and this thrift store--are as loving as they say they are, they'll adhere to scripture in a way that honors the community and loves thy neighbor. Frederick deserves better.

I have lived in many other cities and NEVER had a Salvation Army tell me they can't pick things up, or don't take merchandise. This place has been a nightmare with this! Forget about helping people. I will give things away free and it is NOT junk!
