Buyer Beware!I am writing to express my profound disappointment with my recent experience at Smartstyle Salon (Store 12434) located within the Super Walmart on Monocacy Boulevard in North Frederick.On Saturday, March 9, 2024, I visited your establishment with the intention of purchasing a 1L bottle of Paul Mitchell Special Shampoo. Despite finding the price to be rather high, I proceeded with the purchase. However, within a mere 30 minutes of leaving the store, I found myself returning with the unopened bottle and receipt in hand, seeking a refund.To my astonishment, Joseph, one of your stylists, informed me that your store has a strict no-return policy on any product. Understandably perplexed by this revelation, I opted to wait for the manager, hoping for a more reasonable resolution. Upon the arrival of Lilly, the manager, I was met with a dismissive attitude and an unwavering insistence on adherence to company policy, which supposedly was indicated on the receipt.My disappointment only deepened when I attempted to discuss the lack of visibility of this policy prior to purchase. It is entirely unacceptable that customers are left in the dark until after they have made their purchase. This lack of transparency is not only frustrating but also indicative of a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction.Furthermore, I must express my dismay at the unprofessional conduct displayed by both Joseph and Lilly during my interaction. Not only did I find them to be curt, but I also overheard Joseph making disparaging remarks about myself and another customer, a behavior that is wholly unacceptable in any professional setting.In conclusion, my experience at Smartstyle Salon was nothing short of disheartening. It is regrettable that such a reputable establishment would prioritize profit over customer satisfaction and transparency. As a consumer, I expected better, and I sincerely hope that you will take the necessary steps to rectify these issues and ensure that future patrons do not endure similar disappointment.

I went there with an appointment for heavy highlights and when I get there Joseph says, “Let me see your hair”… he stares at it and then says, “ I’d feel better if another person did it… I told him it took me a long time to decide to get my hair done and I have 7 kids and it’s 3 days before Christmas and he still told me no!!!! I cried and felt like he just didn’t feel like doing it … Terrible way to feel

Joseph did an amazing job on my hair!! I have never been so happy from a visit at a hair salon before!! He cut my hair exactly how I wanted, and really saw the vision I was going for! Great stylist & such a great price!

Bad service. The lady cut my hair uneven and couldn’t even give me the color I wanted for my hair. Gave me attitude. No conversation. She shouldn’t be allowed to cut hair. My mommy knows how to cut better than her. She not a hairdresser. I will never go there again. She didn’t even style it and was talking about my hair.

You'd be better off cutting your own hair in the dark with a dull butter knife. Worst place I've had my hair cut. ARIEL cut my hair. She was ONLY suppose to cut the split ends. She showed me what she was going to cut. It was about 2 inches. She actually cut about 6 inches too short, as well as straight across which is exactly what I asked her NOT to do. My hair was almost to my butt, now it's the middle of my back. So I'll have to wait a year for my hair to grow back to the length it should have been. If she listened and payed attention she would have seen how my hair was cut an angle. She wasn't friendly, nice or knowledgeable. She most definitely reinforced my decision to continue to cut my own hair. Also you get a discount if you give a 5 star review.....
