Be very careful going here. People know less and less about coins and precious medals with every passing day and this establishment seems to capitalize on the ignorance of others and nothing more. They offer face value for coins that are worth much more and the only time they offer more than that is when they decide to offer you scrap value on the coin or rather even a bit less than that as if they're going to melt a coin that's worth 10s of times more than spot price very shady beware.Owners reply shows why sometimes it's wise to not use your main account when posting a negative review: they will try to find out who you are with ill intent

My son brought in many old coins for grading and was given a receipt. When he returned to pick up the staff said they sold them. He was CHEATED out of thousands of dollars. Do not use this company!!!!

very disappointed! I waited three days for an appt. the person I was to see was busy so I was put on to some one else. I'm not sure if that person was a numismatic, which was my whole reason for driving 30 min for this appt. I had questions about a particular coin and he took pictures and said he would get back to me. One week later I ended up calling him and he was too busy to talk to me!! He didn't answer any of my questions and told me I needed to investigate it myself. So all my time was wasted for nothing.

My father had a good size coin collection. I was up all night worrying that I might be cheated since I hadn’t a clue of the value of the coin collection. Made the appt was there 4 hours. They were very detailed in weighing and checking value of each coin. Nao was my advisor and was friendly, professional and reassuring. I would recommend to them to anyone who wants to buy or sell coins.

I was in the Frederick coin exchange today to make a purchase. I had called ahead and spoke with Erica. She had everything set up and ready to go. Even though they were very busy, their staff adjusted so that they could take care of me and get my purchase completed in good time. Everything went very smoothly. Nao took great care of me. She handled everything very professionally, skillfully, and with courtesy! The entire experience was very positive! It was a pleasure doing business with Nao! She did an awesome job! My wife and I had an exceptional experience selling gold jewelry at Frederick Coin exchange. It was easy, we made an appointment online and bought in our items. Kayla was very friendly, she explained the process, and was extremely diligent, detailed and accurate. She answered all of our questions and we were very pleased. I saw other customers just like us but with coins and silverware. It was an interesting and educational experience.

All of the staff were very polite & friendly. Amy, was extremely knowledgeable & spent 2 hours with us appraising the silver & coins we took in to sell. Highly recommend The Frederick Coin Exchange!

We love this place! We have sold our parents' old coins and silver here several times. Micky is our go-to guy. He answers all our questions, is helpful, honest and fair. Everyone here is polite, helpful and professional. We'll be returning with more coins soon. I highly recommend TFCE!

We’ve been going to the Frederick Coin Exchange for many years. Their staff is highly trained, knowledgeable, hardworking fair and friendly. I would recommend an appointment if you’re selling something as they are a busy store. My sons enjoyed buying coins there when they were little. The staff has always treated their “small” shoppers/sellers the same as their big spenders/sellers, which we appreciate. It is wonderful we have a coin shop in downtown Frederick. Great store to do business with!
