Like all Michael's... a great selection of art supplies, anything for crafting, & cute home decor items. They have recently added helium balloons, so it's a one-stop shop for party supplies as well.

I'm giving this location a 4 star review due to the fact this location doesn't have everything. It's not a deal breaker since I still shop there. Also I tend to shop online for products that they don't have in store.The location is perfect and ideal and is very convenient in the Kentlands shop center. I highly recommend this location.

This is my second day in a row trying to get something framed here. Yesterday I was told that someone would be in the framing department until close at 9pm, today I was told that "she must have left early." Nobody could even give me a ballpark estimate for the project, including the closing manager, as she has yet to be trained in this department. No shame on her, I appreciate her not just making something up, but clearly this is a failure of the company in general.
If you are visiting for the framing department you shouldn't bother; go to the one in Germantown and you will have a better, more reliable experience. Or better yet, seek out a local framing store and don't support corporations that don't care about their customers. Clearly corporate isn't interested in giving them the budget to actually staff their framing department full time. This is my second bad experience trying (unsuccessfully both times) to get something framed at this location, and needless to say this is the last time I let them waste my time.

I have shopped at Michael's for years, in large part because of their broad selection and great customer service. When attempting to return two items at the Gaithersburg location this week, in violation of their policy, Karen (that is the name she gave) stopped a cashier from refunding the items and denied my ability to return the items, in direct violation of their return policy.
I took the items to another Michael's and successfully returned them with no issues at all.
Thanks Karen, I do not shop in stores that treat customers that way.

Customer associate Emiliana was very friendly and helpful helping me sign up when I purchase another one of your newer journals :) thank you so much for your quality customer service. It put me in a better mood than I already was in!

They have a different policy every day. An item that was opened can be returned on one day, but not on another day. In the Germantown store, they accepted the return without any problems!

Friday night after 8pm is the best time to shop (chrismas time) everything was in stock, and all the employees were very polite.

Can't never go wrong with Michael's ... They have everything and if not they have it online for pickup at the store is that's your go to and take advantage of the promo codes. However, this particular location fails to acknowledge clients that are there for pick up and, when acknowledged, the help isn't immediate.
I don't normally come this location, but first impressions matter.
