Back in the early 90's , before what we know as the Internet today really existed for most of us, they used to mail out a paper ad. I called in about a used Marshall 8008 Valvestate solid state amp listing for a few hundred dollars. It seemed like a fair price back then. I paid around $20 for shipping. When it arrived, it lacked the expected 80W into 4 Ohms power. I think that some internals were shot, I remember that the capacitors were bulging, it never delivered 80W per channel as listed on the chassis. Probably some metal head in the early 90's drove it to the edge of it's limits. I called back to support and was denied any chance of a refund or return, or store credit, as they said it was used you are out of luck.. I am 6 states away , and knowing this, I had no leverage. I was told it was in working condition, it did power up, but was not usable. Now, its 2024, and surprised they are still in business. I would steer clear.

Drove over an hour to pick up an Avalon U5 after calling the store, confirming they had the U5 in stock, and them placing it on hold for me. When I showed up they claimed to not have the U5 as they had sold it a week prior. This store has no idea how to properly keep inventory, or communicate musical equipment effectively with their customers. I left the store empty handed after wasting 3+ hours of my time.

Bought a guitar on Reverb from them. Paid immediately. They give me a 5 star rating. Ask me to agree to pay shipping both ways in three different emails if I return it.. Agreed all three times. Next email I get is they refunded my purchase because they had "issues" with me asking why it was listed as excellent as opposed to mint a week previous. They were afraid I was going to return it so they refused to sell it?! Why would I return my dream guitar knowing the minor issues with it ahead of time? I wouldn't. I have 80 five star reviews on Reverb. If they have had so many previous issues with returns they need to look in the mirror for the root cause. This guitar is on consignment. I feel sorry for the owner of the guitar. They have it sold and refuse to sell it/ship it. Why even list it on Reverb if you refuse to ship it?!

Just bought a Squier Jazzmaster there recently; great atmosphere, super chill, they're good about letting you try stuff, everyone was super nice and helpful. Good selection of used guitars, amps, and pedals! Fair prices as well. I'll certainly be back for anything else I need!

I'm very pleased with the violin lessons my child is receiving. The structure is very easy and accommodating to schedule changes if needed. The only issue was not having everything that I needed for my daughter available at one time. I had to make 4 different purchases; then lessons are paid in the back, rentals in the front, then she starts lessons to then find out she needs a chin/neck rest and a thing for the strings then after her lesson it's suggested she gets a book for home practice. My suggestion is that new customers get a checklist with price options of everything that may be needed so new customers have a real idea of the cost to budget from. The service is awesome so it's worth it.

Victor Litz is an absolute gem.I was having some equipment issues after a frustrating experience at a national music store chain, and the folks at Victor Litz helped me get back to playing in no time. They ("J") patiently answered all of my questions and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. The exceptional staff are what truly make this store great. In terms of merchandise, Victor Litz has a vast supply of new and used instruments of just about every variety in addition to gear, accessories, and other equipment. I was so impressed by what I saw when I went in for repairs that I returned a few days later to shop for an upgrade to my starter bass. I called ahead of time, explained a general idea of what I wanted, and the staff ("M") recommended basses that completely met my needs. They did such a good job matching me with a bass and priced it so competitively that I bought it right then. I had a very minor issue with it (not the fault of Victor Litz), and when I brought it back in, they ("L") took care of me right away. I've been in bliss enjoying my new bass.Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Victor Litz. I've even already signed up for lessons there, thanks to the extremely kind and friendly lesson coordinator ("L").If you're a musician in the Gaithersburg area, do yourself a favor and visit Victor Litz; you won't regret it.

Ooo I like this store! I use to live in the building next to it for years but never went inside to get a full tour. There was a guy named Michael that helped me around and showed me all the items they had in the store. There's so much variety here! I take lessons at music and arts but they offer lessons here too. Pricing is comparable to Music and arts center $30 per 30min session to $50 per 30min session. That's not bad. I'm paying $42 per session right now. If you want to play with the guitars you can, just to test them out. I'm deciding on one guitar to purchase here and a $700 one at music and arts but their prices here are better honestly. Customer service is great. Parking in the front and the back on the of the store is available. Definitely would recommend this place!
