This is a quirky (and hard to find) used bookstore with an upbeat vibe and lots of unique items for sale besides books...I love the interesting sodas (with cane sugar), local fudge (at the counter), postcards, T-shirts, and vintage prints...the selection of used books and movies seems carefully curated as I have found early editions of novels I could not find elsewhere and favorite old movies I have been surprised to come across. The store layout is maze-like with lots of nooks and crannies. The staff at the counter are friendly and easy going...I like that they have punch cards (but I usually forget mine.) I wouldn't say they have the lowest prices for a used bookstore but their books and movies are in good condition and they have a great collection. So this store is a little difficult to find as it is hidden behind a self storage facility and strip mall along Shady Grove Road. It is easy to miss the narrow driveway that leads to the back of these buildings. But it's also cool that it's not right by a busy street (and there is plenty of parking.)

I typically don't sell a lot of books, so I'm usually content with the small amount of cash or slightly higher amount of store credit that I receive here. I always find books of interest and sometimes DVDs. For what I buy, the prices aren't bad, and occasionally I find books that are fairly new at a reasonable price. The cons are two: The store credit doesn't appear on the receipt. And you can't enter the store with books to sell: You have to place your books near their truck parked outside, then enter the store and tell them you have books to sell. Don't go there if the weather is not nice enough to be outside and you are selling books, DVDs, or recordings

A little on the pricier side for a used bookstore but still less than retail. Fairly well organized, but very tight and difficult to navigate if you have mobility issues. Large mass market paperback selection in sci fi, fantasy, and mystery, plus a sizeable children's, teens, and YA section. Also, make sure to get your free Wonder Book loyalty card.

I think this might be my new favorite book store! Love that you could search for your books on the computer. Love that the newer books are easy to find. Also, I have to take advantage of the punch card which seems like a great idea. A great selection of my favorite genres: modern romance and books by celebrities. Only thing I didn't love is that they gave me a low price for the book I wanted to sell.

This small chain (three locations in Maryland: Hagerstown. Frederick and Gaithersburg) is awesome. The staff at all three locations is friendly and ready to help you find stuff. Be prepared to spend some time if you go, because you're going to need to look through LOTS of shelves of books. You never know what hidden gems you're going to find!!!

They do have a good collection, but compared in McKays in Manassas the prices were much higher. I had read some reviews that you order books on the website but then they say they don't have it. I ordered like 10 books to get a special deal and then got an email that told me that several were not available, so I cancelled my order. Was hoping the reviews wouldn't be true.

A maze of ideas books. It was fun to take my time browsing and it wasn't very busy when I went. My rating is a bit low due to there being a lot of older books, and to be honest some sleeves were rather dusty. Also the staff wasn't very welcoming, I passed two employees at the front that saw me and just ignored me.

If you like the complete sensory experience of a used bookstore, I can't think of a better place to spend a couple hours and some $. They have a huge selection and a wide variety of media. It's a little chaotic, but that is part of the magic. You never know what treasure you might find.

Best second hand bookstore in the DMV, hands down. This location is the epitome of a classic second hand bookstore. You could be lost in here for an entire day and still not have gone over every shelf. They have antiquarian and new prints alike mixed in with eccentric art for sale on every wall and stack (the organization of their collections is also very intuitive and fairly meticulous which makes browsing incredibly breezy). They even have an entire records room! The staff are lovely and can order anything you don’t find on premises. Their prices are competitive but they also are open to negotiations.

This place is very cool. So much stuff packed into one building. Prices were reasonable too. They have a sizable section of CDs and DVDs, which is exactly what I was looking for. Lots of free parking in their lot. Store staff were helpful and friendly. I will definitely return in the future ?

This is a fantastic bookstore BUT they have so much more! Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. I wish I'd learned of this place years ago and wish it was closer to my home. It's such a great place it's worth the drive from DC. Highly recommend! Thank you Wonder Book!

Excellent bookstore with well-selected variety of books and records. Great selection of novels by local hero George Pelecanos. If I’d stayed an hour longer, I’d probably have bought ten more books/records — that’s the kind of place it is
