The women who are serving there have lousy service. They judge immigrants and every time I want to send money, the woman gives a bad service. She is a very disrespectful person who shows no respect towards customers.

On 7/29/22 at around 3:30pm, I waited for about 3 minutes at the vacant Safeway customer service counter located at 2644 Chapel Lake Dr., Gambrills, MD 21054 before politely asking the very short thin Caucasian lady standing at the end of the cashier stations if there was someone working at the customer service counter. She turned to me and said, "We are all very busy" then turned back around leaving me to fend for myself. Why didn't she alert the appropriate person that they were needed at the customer service counter? After hearing the awkward response, an older Caucasian employee told me that she herself would put a call in. I thanked her and a short while later, another employee came to assist me. All I wanted was to buy a lottery ticket. I just finished purchasing items from the check-out line and it didn't look busy to me. I'm not sure why she didn't want to provide me with the same level of service that everyone else was getting. My service matters too! Her behavior was very unprofessional and Safeway needs to make her aware that she represents the store while on duty.

I live across the street from this store, so I have typically visited at least weekly. I have been very happy with this store up until this week (see below). Here are my pros and cons: Pros: Good prices (except prescriptions, as noted below). Relatively good stock levels (supply chain disruptions of course occur). They carry an amazing array of products for a fairly small store! They are the only ones around who carry my favorite salad brand. Most of the employees are kind and helpful. Cons: Packaged produce, fresh cheeses and other short date items can be left on the shelves far beyond their expiration dates, so always check these. Also, prescription prices are much higher than many surrounding pharmacies. Previously I felt the store's advantages far outweigh any disadvantages, but this week that changed because of a horrible experience with the store's pharmacy. The pharmacist, Layi Ojo, refused to fill a prescription that I had asked him not to send through my insurance, because I wanted to use GoodRx instead. I have done this before at his store. He said no, that everything had to be run through insurance instead. I cannot afford to pay the copay his pharmacy charges. The pharmacist did not care about that, or that I was out of the medication I had already waited 4 days for him to fill. I had no trouble getting a competitor to fill the prescription, at a much more reasonable price. Because I pick up my prescriptions when I grocery shop, I will no longer shop at this store.

This is our go to grocery place. Usually hubster does the grocery shopping, but sometimes we go together on a day off. We did that today. Monday during the day, it wasn't too crowded. They actually had 3 lines open, so that was great. Sometimes the cashiers here are very attentive and take their time, but they are always kind. The place is usually stocked well and the produce is usually good and fresh. I've found in some of the other fancier grocery stores in the area that the produce there turns quickly. But usually from Safeway it lasts. My favorite part about this location is the one manager is always working so hard. She's super on top of things. I've seen her opening lines, directing people, checking on her staff. She's absolutely a quality employee and a good leader of her team.

I chose this Safeway as my first experience for online grocery shopping and pickup. The site was easy to use, the process was simple and quick. Text message was received once my groceries were ready. The 2 gentleman who loaded my car with the bags were sweet and gave excellent customer service! I shop at this location in store often. Customer service has always been on point. The store is clean, fresh fruits and vegetables. I can usually find items here which are hard to find at competitors.

They filled my helium balloons when no one else would. My son has muscular dystrophy and they support that. I love my Safeway

This Safeway is top notch! They have a huge selection of everything and the shelves are always stocked. There is plenty of parking and handicap accessible spots. The bakery is amazing. I went to get a cake for my mom's birthday this weekend and one of the bakers was so kind and helpful. She was professional and clearly skilled at her job. The cake was delicious and my mom was really happy. I'm impressed by the quality and design of their display cakes and pieces to grab on the go. I plan on buying all my event desserts here from now on.

SAFEWAY is back, the merchandising is making everything bountiful, rich in color, rich in variety. On a day when the sky is covered, the temperature is in the 30's, CoViD-19 is refusing to be dominated, SAFEWAY is bustling with music, colorful food, fruits, juices and much more. SAFEWAY has become an oasis where you catch a glimpse of hope, a glimpse of what life could look like once we conquer the pandemic, let's keep on masking up and get to the promised land sooner rather than later.

Sure, this place would definitely not be my first choice for grocery shopping under normal circumstances. But in the virus-related madness that grips contemporary society, I have had the easiest time shopping here. When the line at the nearby Wegmans stretches around the block, there is no wait at Safeway. Sure, their fruits and vegetables aren't the best, but their produce department has never been out of stock for me. The packaged goods are largely the same. Just today I walked in, grabbed a dozen eggs, and breezed through self-checkout in less than three minutes (N.B. Safeway sells a jumbo egg package containing 30 eggs).

I moved to the area in January and was so happy to see my favorite grocery store so close to the house. Unfortunately this location continues to disappoint over and over again for different reasons. Most of them has been customer service. Either rude or complete lack thereof. Today it was more of that and was shocked to see some of my favorite dairy products on the shelf at full price that expired 30 days ago. I am moving my prescription somewhere else and will only use Wegmans now. Today was the last straw.

This review is based on the fried chicken only . Stopped by to try the " Cheap Chicken Monday Deal $4.99!" 7/29/19 around 1:30pm The guy at the counter professional and kinda friendly : How can I help you Ma'ma ? Fried or Roasted? White, Dark, or mixed ? Pay for that here ? Next ! Ok. Back to my review . I asked when the chicken was cooked he said around 10:00am but some pieces were just cooked . I said ok , make it fried and mixed please ! When I got it to my house the the wings were completely dried out and the breading was Really hard . The rest of the pieces were good but the top portions were really hard and the underneath pieces were kinda mushy , The flavor was good ,maybe a tad too salty for my taste but still good ! Next time I'll call ahead and get it fresh outta the fryer. PS completely out of napkins at the salad bar and coke area .

I just come every now and then when i'm to lazy to take the extra 2 minute drive to Food Lion. I'm not a big fan of this location, but it has more to do with all the deals I get elsewhere, and little to do with some of the bad customer service that I've seen/ heard so much about, because it's never happened to me...lol It's straight I guess, but if you a bargain shopper then there are better options in the area. Otherwise it'll get the job done...

It is clean and organized. However, there is almost NEVER anyone at the seafood counter and there is no bell. So in the event that there is someone there, they can't see/ hear you if they are in the back preparing meat. This is annoying. I shouldn't have to come up front to customer service and ask for assistance at the back of the store. Do better Safeway. Do better. Get a BELL!

Well lit store. Cashiers are friendly. I've never found and empty spot for items I'm looking for. Don't understand the 2-stars this Safeway has ... its always been a 3-4 star for me!
