This store has improper storage of almost all items. I bought cat litter that was infested with gnats, it almost ruined my house. 2/3 bags of dog food were infested with spiders/moths. I also waited at checkout for 10 minutes with no employees in sight, I’m not that person but stealing from this store is being asked for

HORRIBLE customer service. Was told to wait an hour for an order that I placed online (to take advantage of an online only coupon) and was told it was in stock. I even called the store on the phone to make sure they would have it in stock before I arrived.
The employee on the phone asked me for the SKU number and confirmed YES we have it in stock. Asked the employee, how long til it will be ready? An hour. I waited in there for 40 minutes before being told they couldn’t give it to me because it’s reserved for someone else who placed an order online at the same time as me—yet who was not even in the store, despite my waiting 40 minutes in the store for that exact item.
The manager, Amy, completely indifferent to the fact they told me they had it in stock and had me wait 40 minutes for it, declined to give me the one right in front of me and said they were holding it for the other person. I CALLED ON THE PHONE TO MAKE SURE THIS SITUATION WOULD NOT HAPPEN!
I asked for a full refund and some kind of reimbursement for having me wait in the store from 2:00 until 2:40, and the manager Any nonchalantly says “the best I can do is a 4$ coupon”, then without letting me know if I was refunded or not, walks away. So there I am waiting another 5 minutes, to the point I have to ask an employee for my refund receipt. They radio Amy who tells me I have to check online in 24 hours, and then lies and says she told me I was refunded. No, you told me you WOULD refund me and walked away. With managers like these it is no surprise this store has a 50% off clearance sale going on. Completely unprofessional, I will never spend another dollar on a petco product.

Purchased 20 goldfish all different sizes. All 20 charged as large fish. Had to ask why and get staff to correct discrepancy.

I went there looking for kittens to adopt. They didn't have any. Show me a poster with a phone number and email address and said to contact those people and said they had lots of kittens up for adoption. My call my emails we're totally ignored. I don't think those people even exist...
