If you don't watch every item as it is rung, you will more than likely be overcharged because they often scan the manufacturer bar code instead of the tiny Big Lots sticker, if there is even a sticker at all (many items aren't priced). It has happened all but two times over my past 14 visits to different locations. One time it was for $50 for a sale item, because they don't change the price in the computer system. Today it was for an item that had a large sign that said it was on sale. The sale price didn't scan so I was told to show a staff member the sign. I had to walk up and down the aisles with a disabled autistic child until I found the item and large sign. The employee pointed out the tiny print and said the sale was over more than 2 days ago. She didn't take the sign down but walked away to tell the cashier that I was incorrect. I said that I didn't want the item but wanted to take a picture for my review. Another employee then hurried back to remove the sign. If you aren't vigilant, you will be likely be paying a price that is more than what they advertise.

We bought Outdoor Furniture from big lots. It was manufactured by Broyhill. It didn't survive one four month summer season in Maryland. It was/is under cover and out of the sun for a good portion of the day. The parts that were exposed to sunlight for even part of the day dried and cracked within a four to five month window. Because we didn't have any sort of extended warranty the store was unwilling to do anything to make good on the situation. I understand that nothing lasts forever but outdoor furniture that can't be left outside even if it's covered for most of the day is inexcusable. I can't speak to the durability of the products from other places but I would definitely recommend not buying anything like this from Big Lots.

Service was ok but the guy who rung us out kept trying to sell us a protection plan…and kept saying things like if it breaks or something happens after 90 days we are stuck with it…basically trying to use scare tactics to up sell us…

Shopping in the store is much easier than shopping on their website. I put Glen Burnie MD big lots, then type in what I am looking for- I click the item & it's at all different locations. So frustrating. At least most Christmas items are finally 75% off. Great prices on Christmas items!
