This is the WORST location ever if you have style go to the one in LAUREL because Glen Burnie location is absolutely racist & they only want clothing that’s appealing to WHITE people. The customer services is horrible, the staff acts like they’re doing YOU a favor, it’s pathetic.

This Plato’s closet has become one of my favorite trading stores. The staff always treat me so kind! Steve and Allison were great! Plato’s closet in Glenn Burnie never miss! Great prices, friendly staff, and great merchandise! Thank you

For a place that relies on people selling / donating their clothes they sure do make it difficult to sell your items. No trash bags, F-Su you have to stay in the store for the possible hours it takes them to go through your stuff, and then they barely take anything and pay you next to nothing for it. This place is trash, I’d rather donate my clothes to one of those blue box s than go through the hassle of coming here to maybe get $5

Really great selection of clothing. Employees were very helpful and kind. I didn’t love the way the manager was speaking to them though- she was quite demanding and belittling which was upsetting to see.

i don’t advise anyone to apply here, the manager will push you to quit, break you down, talk behind your back for no reason at all, if you don’t kiss her behind. and all the employees are her little minions, please put your hard work anywhere else but here.p.s the only time they actually clean is when the owner comes ? oh and they have a roach and mice problem so be careful with clothes on the floor

All the reviews about the lady behind the counter are 1000% correct. One she has no Idea in what she's looking at. Secondly she has a very bad attitude and shouldn't be in customer service. Third she is a person with no style and yall have the penquin from batman telling others that they're clothes doesn't fit her criteria as stylish.

I visited Plato's Closet #80474 today, motivated by a text message I received about an in-store promotion. Expecting a good deal, I traveled about 30 minutes, only to find a different promotion being offered at the store. This discrepancy was confusing, and when I inquired with two store associates, their responses were unsatisfactory. One associate explained that they couldn't control what the corporate office sends out, despite the store being independently owned. This reasoning seemed contradictory and did not resolve the issue. Another associate acknowledged the need to fix this miscommunication. However, the manager (or someone who appeared to be in a managerial position) was not very accommodating or empathetic about the situation.Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially given the effort I put in to visit based on their promotion. Potential customers should be cautious as the store might not honor what they advertise. This experience has certainly made me reconsider visiting Plato's Closet #80474 in the future.

Would not accept any of the 42 items I brought in that included American eagle, lulus, pacsun, Abercrombie, Nike, hollister, Tommy Hilfiger, billabong, etc. (less than 5 years old, washed, and in good condition) because they “didn’t meet current demands” yet their entire store is filled with shein clothing that probably costs more secondhand than it does from the actual website. Don’t waste your time.

Reading through a lot of these reviews are seriously comical. People whining because they won't take their gross, stained, and old clothes. Hahaha. People wanting gold for their nasty stuff, outdated stuff, out of season stuff, stuff covered in pet hair, wrinkly stuff. Seriously, who's going to buy that? People are straight up delusional!! Also, people complaining that they need to put stuff in totes is wild to me! Have they never been to any of the other stores around? Savvy, Honeysuckle, Return to Oz. It's standard. Who wants to dig crumpled up clothes out of a plastic bag?My experience: every time I come, I have a good experience. The staff is actually very friendly if you engage. I think they're tired of being treated like garbage by customers.Recently, I was there with my teenage son, and this young girl with a toddler straight up flipped out on them because they wouldn't buy her stained and summer clothes. She was yelling and cussing, very mean and cruel. I felt bad for the staff and also her little girl! Both staff members remained calm and professional despite the abuse they were receiving. After she left, I commended them on how they handled the situation with Ms. Crazy. They said it happens daily. So, so sad.I have bought from them for quite awhile, and while my visits are always good, I'm docking a star because of their pricing. Their prices are high. Compared to other Plato's Closets, they are more expensive, as well. I understand it's a franchise, so they don't have to price it the same. I'm just saying the increase is pretty noticeable.I have never sold with them before, but I can imagine you wouldn't get much for your clothes. They are similar to Once Upon a Child, who will give you about $1.50 a shirt. If it's true that they won't give you much, but then sell it for 10x as much, I would agree to sell your stuff elsewhere... Or donate.

PLEASE IGNORE ALL THE OLD BAD REVIEWS. This Plato’s is under new management. I have been shopping here since 2014. I have bought and sold thousands of dollars worth of items here over the years. Steve and his wonder wife are now the owners of this Plato’s. I used to resell full time but now do it on the side more as a hobby. I was just here for the Black Friday sale and was blown away by how kind and hospitable all the new employees are.P.S. This store is a business and always has plenty of good inventory. They are not going to buy every single item you bring in to sell, just items they know the store needs at the time

This happened Monday November 20th 2023. The gentlemen who work there are very nice but the woman who runs things is very disrespectful and should not be working there. Bought stuff from other stores that was legit and tried tell me that the actual Michael Korrs purse had was fake but was actually real. Then tried offer me $2.20 for a $60 wallet from Wilson's leather. Because of this offer I got upset and then the woman tried to throw me out when I was proceeding to throw myself out cause the woman was very ignorant and I will not be back and I know others who said the same.

This place is an utter waste of time. Like seriously, don’t waste your valuable time here. I was greeted by a judgmental employee stating that “they haven’t accepted clothes in trash bags for quite a few months now”. Like okay? Sorry I don’t keep up to date on your policies. Fine - that’s your policy, but after driving 30 min to the store and being told you literally won’t look through my clothes because they’re in non-reusable bags?? So, I wasted more time and materials going to buy bags from Walmart only for them to take 30 min looking through stuff and not buying anything. Rude employees and bad policies!!!
