If i could leave 0 I would. Have been a member for as long as I could remember and the disappoint I have with this bank is truly disheartening. Youve lost a customer based on fabrication, deception and downright lack of morals. But thats to be expected with a place like this. I wouldn't set up and account with. Secu ever if i were you. When you think its all glits and glam, they will end up letting you down eventually. Have a blessed one :)!

I went to this branch twice and I found the customer service to be great. The staff are pleasant, professional, and attentive. I’ve been a SECU member for 14 years and intend to remain so because good customer service is hard to come by these days.

I came to this location to deposit two checks at the drive thru window. I was greeted by Seena (spelling ?). First and foremost from the start of the transaction I asked her a question which she responded in the lowest tone of underneath of an accent that was hard enough to understand. She acted almost as if she was being bothered at the end of her shift and she was ready to go which is understandable just don’t show it. At the end of the transaction she asked me if I had any other questions in which I asked her to hold on as I was reviewing the receipt. When I looked up to asked her a question she already left the screen and I was like omg, this lady left me in a black screen. It was obvious that she wasn’t trying to be there . This was so rude, I started to press the button and tell her how rude she was but I couldn’t give this lady my energy today. I’m seriously contemplating leaving SECU, the one thing I can’t stand is poor customer service.

Despite being short staffed at times and very busy they make sure to address all of your personal banking concerns before you leave and don't rush you through the process. Ariel was extremely helpful and informative when advising me on purchasing CDs. I prefer this SECU branch whenever I need to go in person. The staff there makes you feel like your business is important to them and I appreciate that !?

Avoid this branch at all costs! Especially Angela! She does not know how to do her job and should not be working on loans at all! Also their interest rates and gap insurance is WAY higher / More expensive than other credit unions.. do NOT get a loan from SECU!

They have gone down hill since they removed tellers from the branches and replaced them remote operators.

This credit union is fraudulent, steals your money, and needs federally investigated immediately. I activated my debit card, but have never been able to use it. The customer support used expletives and hung up the phone. I called back, and they refused to close the account. Fortunately, I was wise and never kept large amounts of money in this financial institution. Customer service is nonexistent. You are just a number. They hate customers and refuse to help. But SECU loves stealing money and refusing you access to it. Avoid this company. I am contacting the States Attorney. If that does not work, the FBI. A bunch of condescending crooks.

BEWARE of this "credit union" I recently had an authorized withdrawal from my account which resulted in my savings being wiped out. I called the "customer service" line and after waiting for 45 minutes for someone to answer, I was told that I had to go to a branch. The first branch I went to told me to make an appointment, noone could help me, and, the next appointment is in two days! The second branch was a little more accommodating, they took my statement and told me that they saw fraud alerts on my account. They said that they still needed to do an investigation, which is understandable, but advised that I will not see my money for 130 days. After hearing this, I promptly told them to close my checking account - they "made a phone call" and said that my money would be in my account in 2 days..........that still hasnt happened. Unfortunately, I am going to have to contact the States Attorney's office to retrieve my money. This is an unjustified hassle and completely frustrating.....

I went to the Glen Burnie branch today to have a loan document printed so I can keep a copy. A simple request that would have taken less than ten minutes. I was told that I have to make an appointment. Looking around the empty branch, there are plenty of staff that could have helped me. Why make a member jump through hoops because you don't feel like working? Unacceptable!!

I recently sold my home to someone who was using SECU as his lender. I’ve purchased three homes and sold two, and this was truly the worst, most unprofessional experience. Our settlement date was extended 3 weeks because the loan processor (Jessica) couldn’t be bothered to answer calls or return emails from my agent or from the buyer’s agent. It took 3 weeks for them to get an appraiser out to the house, and that only happened after my agent practically hounded them. They waited until 30 hours before our settlement date to start reviewing documents. I repeat: 30 hours, less than 2 days before settlement! Then, they said we needed to have a contractor make a repair to our home based on an inspection report she’d had for over 2 weeks at that point, but hadn’t bothered to read. Fine, we had a contractor out the following day (day before settlement). Our realtor submitted the invoice, work report and before & after photos. Jessica said that wasn’t enough— that she needed a list of what was wrong in the first place, not proof of the repairs the contractor had just made. Realtor got that info from the contractor and submitted it, then crickets. Zero communication from SECU. Days passed. Emails were sent. Calls were made. Our agent was ignored. Jessica had said she needed to get the appraiser back out, but then didn’t schedule it. We finally settled on the 3rd attempted settlement date, which was scheduled with us less than 24 hours in advance. No time to get childcare, we had to cancel meetings at the last minute, and then we had to take our 1 year old to settlement with us. The entire experience was just asinine. Our time was wasted. We missed out on being able to purchase a home because we were contingent on selling our current home and couldn’t get a settlement date nailed down. It doesn’t matter if they are working on things behind the scenes; they need to keep the agents in the loop. A quick email to say, “No word from the appraiser today, but I’ll follow up in the morning,” would be better than radio silence.
