I had a similar experience to another reviewer regarding going to this salon for color. I called the salon for an appointment and they asked if I’d ever gotten color before and for me to send over pictures of my hair and the color I wanted. I literally sent them an Instagram post from THEIR page of the exact color I wanted which was a reddish copper,My hair is 4a/4B, but very fine in density and a little past shoulder length. They quoted me $450 for dimensional highlights and toning as it was considered double processing. I thought it was a bit steep, but they had a close appointment and I thought they could do exactly what I wanted. Boy was i wrong.I trusted the process and basically left with blond highlights. There was another girl there getting the same thing done as me and our hair looked exactly the same in the end. I let the owner know this was not what I asked for and again showed her the original post from their Instagram. She asked if I wanted to come back in a week or so to let her recolor it or I can wait longer to see if I get used to it as the color would change as I continued to wash it. I hadn’t had color in over 10 years so I didn’t remember that it would just get lighter and lighter. I tried adjusting to it, but came back maybe 2 months later when I really started hating it and she remembered who I was and that I wasn’t happy with the color. She retoned it but still ended up charging me $110…given I expressed I wasn’t happy with the color upfront and she was the one suggesting waiting to see if I would like it later, I would think she would at least comp the toning part and just charge me for the style. I’m not here to tell people how to run their business, but I just won’t be a customer there again. The thing is, when she retoned it, it turned out exactly how I wanted it in the first place? So I’m like did she skip a step in the FOUR hour process the first time? She said she prefers to lighten more than not enough because she can always retone later. That’s definitely not something I would expect to hear from a master colorist. And it’s also not what I asked for.I will say besides this the owner and staff were super nice and I had no problems with the detangling or trimming process, but if you are looking for a specific color, I’d try somewhere else.

I am beyond pleased. The last two pictures are how my hair looked before Diyolis worked her magic. For years I have struggled to find a stylist and colorist as a result my hair paid the price. During my consultation I listed my concerns and needs she went above and beyond with what I needed. The color is stunning and I get a ton of compliments. I can’t think Diyolis and her staff enough. They have a client for life and I will refer all my friends! Again, thanks- gracias!

I researched this salon online, read reviews & looked at Instagram pics before deciding to use this salon to get full highlights. I had a consultation with their self-proclaimed "master colorist" & paid a non-refundable deposit. At my consultation I described what I wanted, confirmed that she had experience working with natural African American hair, showed inspiration pics (including a pic of a previous color job on myself) & my stylist examined my hair. She came up with a plan to keep my dark base & add blonde highlights (my stylist mentioned that my hair was like hers & this would be the best option to get the color I desired). I scheduled my appointment. The week of my appointment I received a call asking to reschedule. I was unable to reschedule since I was going out of town later that week & wanted to have my hair done before my trip...I was told that they could still honor my previously scheduled appointment. I showed up for my appointment & my stylist informed me that she wanted to lighten my base to a brown color and add blonde highlights. I wasn't quite sure why there was a sudden change in plans but I trusted her as a master colorist to know what was best. I asked her to verify that the base color would be a DARK brown & she confirmed that it would not be too light. My stylist began on my hair. The base color & highlights were done at the same time so my whole head was foiled. The dye/bleach sat on my hair for well over an hour as my stylist worked with other clients. Finally my hair was rinsed. I used my phone camera to take a peek and was immediately alarmed. The color was nothing like what I asked for. I told my stylist and she said I wasn't supposed to look yet because it hadn't been toned yet. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. They toned my hair, conditioned and steamed my hair without proper detangling of my 4a natural hair. Her assistant tried using a fine tooth comb at my roots which anyone with natural hair knows is a big no no. They put me under the dryer and I used my fingers to detangle my hair (there were several knots in my hair from what had been attempted previously). When I saw my colored and toned hair I was extremely disappointed. My hair was ginger (base color) with yellow highlights. This color was no where close to what I asked for and I looked crazy given my skin color was so close to the base color. I told my stylist I wasn't happy and she said that the color only looked that bright because of the lighting in the salon. She held a mirror over my head as "shade from the lights" to show me how the color would look in normal lighting...I wasn't impressed, the color was the color and it was horrible. It was late at night by this time and she asked me to go home, style it and see if I like it.I called the next day to inform her that I still wasn't happy with it. I was forced to go on my trip with my crazy looking hair. I made an appointment for when I would be back in town to have her darken my roots per her suggestion...she thought I would like the color better that way. I came in and she darkened my roots (at no charge) but it still looked crazy. I had to make another appointment for her to go through my hair and darken only the ginger/copper pieces and leave the highlights (at no charge). She used a semi-permanent dye to do this to not further damage my hair. The result was "manageable" but still not what I asked for and paid hundreds of dollars for. Several months later and that semi-permanent color has lifted back to the ginger/copper color that looks crazy.I'm so disheartened by my experience at this salon. I usually do my own hair but figured it would be best to pay a professional for color because it is a chemical service. I'm convinced that my friends (or myself) could've created this color in my hair...this is not what I expected from a master colorist. Now I'm out of money & left with brassy ginger/copper colored hair. My stylist was kind and tried to fix her mis

Diyolis salon is really excellent. I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes to get my service started. Friendly and experienced staff, great expertise with natural hair and gorgeous color. I also REALLY like the transparency about their services - unlike other salons, where I’ve been caught off guard after receiving a service, Diyolis salon provides an upfront estimate regarding service costs, which is truly transparent. I’m a very happy client!Services: Blowouts

Finding this salon is truly a blessing! This week I had the privilege of having my hair ‘cared for’ by Diyolis. She and her team are kind, customer friendly, and professional. My hair turned out beautifully and looks/feels/is healthier than it has been in a long time. I was sent home not only with a lovely new ‘do’, I was also provided with ‘hair-education’ that empowers me to maintain my hair at home until my next visit…which will be soon! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.Service: Hairstyling

I had a keratin treatment so I could better manage my natural hair whether I blow it out or wear my curls. I was so happy with how it turned out. The blowout with cut and color looked great (and stayed straight even in humidity) and I returned to have my curls styled so I know the best way to care for them. I love both looks and really appreciate Diyolis and her team. They do amazing work.Services: Curly hair
