I have been taking my dog to this location for grooming for the past 10 years and just last year the grooming, salons manager, Ari has repeatedly made every effort to turn my dog away. The first time he said it was because I needed cardiac clearance because my dog had a murmur of 2/5. Apparently, this was some new policy by Petsmart that was never previously informed to me. However I got my clearance and then was told that because the appointment was made as a regular appointment, they couldn't see my dog because it needed to be an Express appointment. Then most recently, my dog was turned away because I was told she was too matted. This was not true, because I took my dog to the vet at Banfield in the same Petsmart location 3 days later, and the veterinarian walked over to the grooming salon and told them that my dog was not matted. The vet suggested that we take our dog to a different location and that's exactly what I did. I went to Petco and had no problems whatsoever. I would not recommend Groomers at Petsmart at Greenbelt location to anyone.

Greenbelt Grooming discriminates against cat owners. They have one cat groomer who comes in one day a week. You have only a 4-hour window to get your cat seen. When I called, I heard her tell the lady to take my number and she would call me back. Never happened. The following week, I went in on that day to make an appointment. I reminded her that she did not call me. She immediately began blaming management for her schedule and not having enough time because they want dogs done. Never once took ownership of her actions. That's when she said she can only do cats in the morning though she is there until 8PM. Ridiculous!!

After scheduling a grooming appointment, my dog was denied service, the manager Lennon Fabian said that my dog was too old for grooming without even seeing or inspecting the dog and even Banfield records, he is 14 strong and heathy Scottie. I called other Petsmart in Bowie and was gladly taken

The grooming salon is HORRENDOUS. My puppy came here to be groomed and has never had a full haircut before. However, the groomer insisted that he had to be shaved completely down to avoid tear of his skin and injury so I agreed. I later found out that this shave down could have been avoided and he simply could've been detangled. Anyhow, the very night he came home he stayed up all night licking his paw which alarmed me because he never does that. I immediately examined his paw this time thoroughly to see if I could find anything. I quickly noticed that he had been cut between his paws!!! And no one said anything. This cut had made a turn for the worse as he is a 9 month puppy he will lick what's irritated and had I been informed of the cut it wouldn't have become infected. He couldn't walk for almost two weeks. Barely ate or slept. He had to take several meds. Several other alarming things I paid for that weren't done from the groomers but most Importantly I am disappointed and will NEVER bring him to another petsmart this is sickening. On top of this they have yet to get back to me concerning this issue. Almost $600 in vet fees, I had to miss work and his sitter wouldn't even watch him from him being so sick due to this cut!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE.

With my local PetCo gone, I find myself coming to PetSmart way more often. I have never dealt with Banfield or the pet care -- I strictly come for products or fish. Being a part of Greenway Center, there's plenty of parking... but sometimes I have to park further away than others, especially at peak times. If I need cat food or litter, that's usually pretty easy to grab and go. There have been a few times where there has only been one register open, and when that happens it can get long. But thankfully that's rare! Now, what I do see as a recurring thing is that no one is usually around in the aquarium section -- even in the middle of the day. I recall wait times up to 20 minutes to get some fish! If anything, I hope they work on that. Otherwise, for your pet needs, PetSmart should have what you're looking for.

There's nothing spectacular about this PetSmart, but it'll do. Whenever it rains we bring our pup for something to do. It's relatively clean, but the prices are extremely high, and there never seems to be enough employees around but it serves our purpose during poor weather.

Review is for the for the grooming salon. TERRIBLE. Location doesn't open during posted hours. Today was the third and last time for me. They clearly have zero respect for their customers time.

i don't usually write reviews but i felt like this deserved one. i went into this petsmart this saturday and saw multiple of these murky and disgusting beta fish containers sitting out on the shelf with the other beta fish for sale. my friend inspected them and all of these murky containers (plus others that hadn't been neglected to this point) contained dead and decomposed beta fish. i understand that as a worker that things fly under the radar and you might not have time to fix something. but this? right across from the registers? the state of these containers too.. they must have been decomposing for a while. I'm used to maybe seeing one or two dead fish sometimes but this? this was disgusting. these poor fish have been dead for some time and just left out like this. Very sad to see the poor fish dying and rotting for everyone to see as soon as you walk in the door.

This review is for the grooming salon and Sharelle I've been taking my dog Chloe to this location for grooming, and her vet visits since she was gifted to me almost 9 years ago and my experiences have almost always been pleasant and I'm always pleased with how well she's groomed. It can take awhile sometimes but it is worth it IMO. I now know to make express appointments because Chloe has separation anxiety and can have seizures if she gets too upset. Sharelle is the BEST groomer although she's typically booked out months in advance. They are always very careful with Chloe and Sharelle picks out the cutest bows! There are other locations that are now closer to where I live but I still and will continue to go back to this location for grooming. Thanks Sharelle!

I just love going to this PetSmart. I have been shopping here since I adopted my first Rottie, Angel in 2002. The first people I met at that time were Lidia, Tammy and Sharella who is in grooming. Angel was my first dog in my adult life so I knew very little. Both Tammy and Lidia took care of that aspect walking me through all that was needed and Sharella walked me through her grooming needs. I felt like part of their family and vice versa. I shop here all of the time and take my newest member, Tina for grooming. Zoe now grooms Tina with such care and love that we both are tickled pink with how beautiful she looks when I pick her up. Johnny is superb as the District Manager. He is so personable, knowledgeable and has such an excellent rapport with his staff. I love everything about this PetSmart and I must because I live in DC and drive at least 30 minutes to shop and have my fur baby groomed here. I even took my friend to have her dog groomed by Seth. My friend was so pleased and outdone to see how handsome Papa Bear looked after his grooming. The groomers are awesome and so helpful even if they are not scheduled to groom your dog. The time, love and advice that they give is so well received and much needed for those of us who lack knowledge and the necessary needs for our pets grooming. I find myself spending at least 20 or 30 minutes extra in the store because I feel so welcomed and they are just my other family away from home. I don't know all of the names of the staff here but I must mention those that where I do know the names. I am forever grateful to them for their help, answering my questions, making such excellent suggestions and treating me with such superb customer service, professionalism and so much LOVE, With that being said, Tina and I would like to send THANKS AND SHOUT OUTS TO: Johnny, Tammy, Lidia, Erik, Alex, Gianne, Jasmin, Cecilia, Rosa, Seth and Zoe. You all make this store AWESOME and you definitely make me want to continue coming back for more. I love you all. I understand we are engaged with a pandemic, but when you charge me for services not rendered, then there is an injustice. I paid $85 dollars to include Top Paw services, but received a good deal less. I won't use the Greenbelt location again for grooming services.

By far the worst experience I have encountered at Petsmart. The salon "leader" Sherrel was very rude, nasty, and dismissive. She tried to reschedule my appointment after I came in and told her I already had an appointment she goes on to tell me she's not sure who's going to cut my dogs hair. I'm not sure why that would be any of my concern when it's up to the staff to decide who will do it. I had surgery so I wasn't able to care for my dog properly she told me they would give him a simple shave for dematting. They cut ALL his hair off all over without even informing me. Then instead of the courtesy call to inform me when to pick him up that he's ready she disappeared because she knew she couldn't face me after what she did to my dog. I thank God for the store manager John and Lalah they were very helpful when it came to resolving the issue. John was very polite and attentive and told me he would discuss the incident with Sherrel and Lalah was kind enough to walk my dog to the car. I'm so grateful for thier kind gestures.
