“Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty took great care of my cat, who was first there for an emergency and then needed a preventative surgery. The doctors called me daily (and sometimes twice a day) to update me on my cat’s status during his stay. They also sent doctors’ notes daily to me and our regular vet via email, even without me asking them to do so. They were also clear upfront on what the total cost might be. And even after a discharge, a staff sent a follow-up email to check how my cat’s doing. Overall, I had a great experience, and I think my cat did too, considering the circumstances. I would recommend this place to other pet owners.”
“Dr T office is the best there is. The place is not great in emailing back or calling back, but they are very helpful once you get them on the phone and they always provide very quick care and my super reactive dog feels safe and sound with them.”

He is very kind and compassionate when ever I see him. He called me soon after my dog had her second total hip replacement. He called me again after hours at 8.30PM and sent me picture of my resting at night. All i can say if your dog has an orthopedic need, he is the one to go to.”

“I highly recommend Rocky Gorge for emergency treatment and any surgical procedure your animal needs. Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital is an economical piece of heaven filled with talented, compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough, beyond friendly and truly remarkable angels. My dog was seriously injured in an accident and needed a difficult orthopedic surgery. Dr. Morris, who also performed my family dog's ACL surgery, performed my dogs fractured humerus surgery exceeding well, especially given its level of difficulty, while being extremely conscientious of the cost to the customer. They have been a Godsend in performing my dogs difficult surgery while giving her the best care I could ask for, using a laser to close up her wounds after surgery, and doing this all with the foundation in mind to make it as affordable to the client as possible for example not charging me for suture removal. They provided an estimate that included a low end and high end of the procedure, and I always felt that they followed a code of ethics that I never felt like my dogs care and treatment was being exploited and capitalized on but the very opposite. I'm so grateful for Rocky Gorge because they took beyond exceptional care for my dog during surgeries and procedures and made it so without leaving me in years of debt. Thank you to the incredible orthopedic surgeon Dr. Morris, and all the staff, technicians and pharmacists that help set my mind at ease during the extremely difficult time for me going through a serious accident with my dog. I am beyond blessed for the angels and the immaculate, detailed surgeries, procedures and post-op care they provided for not only my dog, but myself as well!”

“I moved to Hyattsville Animal Hospital when my previous vet (of 15 years) just went downhill and a lot of trust was lost. My pet sitter highly recommended Dr. K so I made an appointment and never looked back. This is a terrific hospital from the front office and back office staff to the care. Dr. K is wonderful with all my littles (2 of my own) - I started fostering a little one and she goes there now, too. Their costs are the best in the area hands down. The facility is not flashy but it's nice and it's the care that matters and parking is not an issue ever. As long as they are there - all my littles will be their patients.”
“It was our first visit here. Our dog's back legs suddenly gave out. They triaged him immediately upon arrival but then there was a 6-8hr wait to see the doctor .Yikes. We stayed and made the best of the situation. They gave him meds to keep him comfortable. I sent my son to the store to get a crate as our dog would not endure sitting there for several hours in my lap. Finally got in with the doctor and was given our options on how to take care of our dog. Over all a good experience, just didn't like how long it took”

“I had a fantastic experience at Union Veterinary Clinic today, Monday, 10/7/2024. Over the weekend, my dog had a minor nail injury that wasn’t healing as expected. I called the clinic first thing in the morning, and despite it being a busy Monday, the email receptionist was incredibly empathetic and arranged to see us within an hour!
When we arrived, the staff was welcoming and efficient. We were checked in quickly, and shortly after, Dr. Slotje came in to examine my dog. She was amazing—gentle, patient, and had an immediate connection with my dog. He’s never nervous with strangers, and he warmed up to her instantly. Dr. Slotje carefully explained the situation with his nail and swollen paw and recommended a treatment plan. She also suggested doing a full nail trim while we were there, which was much appreciated, especially since he's reluctant when it comes to nail trims.
Erin, the vet assistant, came in next and did a great job keeping my 95-pound boxer calm with treats and playful distractions. Then Carlos joined in to assist with the nail trimming, holding my dog with care while Dr. Slotje and Erin worked together. My dog may not enjoy nail trims at home, but the team handled everything with ease and professionalism.
I’ve been bringing my dogs to Union Vet for over 15 years, and their level of care and compassion is always top-notch. I’m so thankful they fit us in on such short notice today. Their exceptional service and dedication are what keep me coming back. Kudos to the entire team—you guys rock! ?

My cat was difficult during the visit, but Dr. Tibbs and Brandon were able to handle her. Brandon was very comforting to my cat because she was very afraid. “This practice is fantastic, affordable and practical. When my dog needed a growth removed from her hawk, we consulted with another practice and they invoiced us at nearly $3000 and explained that’s she may need to be held at the location for 24 hours. After coming here and getting the procedure done I only paid $400, which is nearly 1/5 of the quoted estimate and my dog came home with me the same day. They made the care seamless and affordable, could not recommend a better practice!”

“The young lady at the front desk is rude. The vet gave my dog some shampoo that he had a reaction to at the groomers inside of petsmart and when the manager of the grooming, the department and I went over to have the vet take a look at his skin because it caused severe Burns. The vet refused to come out and the young lady state it. She sells about 20 to 25 bottles of those A. Week, and none of the dogs have ever had a reaction. I explained to her that every animal is different and again. The vet refused to even come out and take a look at my dog and thank God, my daughter is a nurse and knew what to tell me to do. So I would never take my worst enemy to banfield at petsmart on greenbelt road, and you definitely don't get your money's worth.”
