It's unfortunate they have poor customer service. Some people that work here are great while others don't care. After speaking on the phone with them and told to come into the store and driving 45 minutes each way was told they were too busy to help with my purchases and to just go back home.

Let me begging that stating that this guitar center is nothing compared to the largest stores near the capital. There is so much potential, with very little space. Also, prices seem to be a little high, and for some reason, their used gear seems to be higher than new stuff. However, they still have a dissent amount of stuff to pick from, especially for beginners.Their guitar room is the whole wall on the back. You can try all guitars. The accoustic room could use a few more classic guitars but still has a really cool collection of steel strings. The drum room is really small. it could use more space, but they still show a good selection. Live and recording gear is pretty well set, I was personally able to build up my gear thanks to their great prices online and in the store.Staff is always friendly and more than willing to find any answers for you. The store is clean, organized, and well kept. I would definitely recommend anyone to check this leave out.

Excellent staff, store and selection of guitars and musical items in general. Add in the platinum and acoustic selection...it's a store to always check out.

Well stocked store but it doesn't cater to left handed players. My 3 trips there I couldn't find one lefty. The staff is very engaging and honest. Was pleased with my guitar setup I had done.

Nice newer location, large selection of instruments, good staff. I was there to get an ilok USB, in stock, good price.

What can I say...these guys rock. Daniel has been a godsend. He has helped me pick the right instruments, pedals and just took my abuse (million words a second) and millions questions lol. The rest of the staff is amazing as well. Got music needs? Go here!

I've never been to such a laughable guitar center in my life. They said we had good guitars gave us absolutely nothing. Ok fine we look at acoustics and they kept knocking them down even though I showed interest in a higher end Martin. I own said Martin and showed I owned it and the guy knocked it for not being a beloved Taylor. Taylor makes amazing guitar and I will say that with my chest out but this man seems to think I show no loyalty as after this he only seemed to want to show us 300 dollar guitars. More over when we went to check out a guitar we waited and waited as we waited for our estimate on another guitar. This seemed to drag on as the other employee came to us and told us we weren't gonna get a estimate even though our guitar that was worth more then the one we where buying by a long shot (I would give it a estimate of 800) was in condition of barely used. I'm not one to rip on places check my profile but what made me post this was the fact after waiting so long and finally saying enough is enough we left we saw the man who was on the phone for so long in his car. He wasted our time and honestly this guitar center loves to do that. I stand by every place either deserves a great review or no review but this place broke my silence. I don't expect much I work in retail I understand it but this place went so low a man can only think that they had no such thing as care for there fellow man.

I think we’ve all been to music stores that have staff who “like” or play music, but this store has some really great folks that actually are musicians. It makes such a difference! Blake and especially James are amazing and go above and beyond when it comes to managing claims and making repairs. There’s a reason why we drive out to Hagerstown, it’s the amazing staff.

Great people, and a great selection of guitars. Went to this store yesterday, traded in a couple of my guitars and upgraded to a new one. Sales people were knowledgeable without being pushy. It was a favorable experience, and I highly recommend this place.

These guys were totally dismissive and lacking in any customer service. Took 2 guitars for evaluation, great condition. Never got an answer after spending an hour looking and shopping for a trade-in. Picked out a new guitar, took it the register and watched 6 employees wander around while the only employee who could seemingly help me talked and talked on the phone. Was fully prepared to buy a high end guitar and walked out the door.

I wouldn’t recommend bringing used gear to sell here. They quoted me about 30 percent lower than other guitar centers and guitar shops in Maryland across the board. Everyone was nice and I was treated respectfully but you’re much better off checking elsewhere.

Absolutely the best customer service I have experienced in quite a while! I had two phone calls and two visits in the last few weeks and each time they were knowledgeable, helpful, and just nice to be around.

It’s been about a month or two now since I finally received my refund from their insurance which is Asurion. I bought a Washburn Electric Acoustic for a buddy of mine and it ended up getting bowed in the back and eventually cracking. I wasn’t aware that I was to submit the claim as if I damaged it…I thought coverage was coverage after all I did pay for it to be insured. I found that out after about 2-3 weeks while also wrestling with the claims department of Asurion. Mitchell, Griffin, Ken and the guitar tech which I can’t remember his name were phenomenal and professional. They were excellent in service, determined to assist me in getting my refund ESPECIALLY Mitchell that dude deserves a raise hands down people! I felt like I was calling that guy in addition to Griffin, Ken, and the guitar tech almost everyday, but they were still excellent at friendly professional service while also keeping communication with me. Might I also add that these guys are very patient as well which is a major plus. It took about two months, but I finally got my money back via Guitar Center E-gift card and purchased my fiancé her first guitar which was the Mint Green Fender Electric Acoustic. Summer Edition I believe. I conclude this review by leaving one more note. I would not recommend the insurance I sure hope The Guitar Center finds another insurance provider because I gotta say they were not very helpful. They should’ve informed me on what the requirements were to get a refund. To speak more specifically, they should’ve notified me that if the guitar was damaged by a “friend” then I would not qualify. Trust me if I knew I had to go through all of that I would’ve just said I damaged the guitar on my claim LOL. And finally, I WOULD suggest the store just not the insurance. The staff at the Hagerstown store are excellent!! I told Mitchell that I will definitely be back. I just won’t get coverage again LOL. Thank God I take care of my stuff anyway haha. I hope that people find this review helpful!
