They went above and beyond to comfort me and my children during a really sudden tragic incident resulting in losing our best friend and good boy... the kindness and consideration we were given during such a hard time will never be forgotten. Thank you all so much!

If you have another emergency vet near you go there instead. Took my cat in a few weeks ago around 1 am. Was given the understanding he may have a UTI and or may be partially blocked. Was sent home with pain meds (no antibiotics for the possibility of UTI) and had to come back at 7 am about an hour or so after finally getting home from the facility because my cat was still not urinating and in obvious discomfort in his litter box. Found out through the doctor on hand at 7 am that he was fully blocked and needed to be hospitalized which was told to me to be a time sensitive thing. They will ask you if you want updates both about your pet and financially. Neither will be given without making the call yourself and the answers you get will vary every time you speak to someone. Seemed like every time we called he was fine then next time he was worse off and needed to stay longer. We had the option to Transfer to our primary vet to get him treatment at normal hours which would've been affordable, we voiced this ourselves as it was never presented as an option by the facility. But in turn were met with he is doing better and would have his catheter taken out soon for monitoring only to call back a few hours later to find out that was not the case and he would have to keep it in and stay longer. None of this was called and talked about. The doctors will talk so fast about things you may already not understand and what are you to do? It's your pet. You want them to get treatment. So you say ok and leave feeling gaslit and disheartened. My cat was miraculously allowed to have his catheter pulled the last night he was there as I showed up after getting tired of going back and forth with so many different people on the phone with so many different answers about my cats condition and the bill jumping hundreds of dollars at a time without notice. All this after I told them face to face we couldn't afford their care anymore without making it so that we couldn't get him care elsewhere if need be. I do not recommend this facility in the slightest especially not for overnight anything. I will vouch for the front desk people who were nice and helped and Dr. Vega who gave me the most respect and actually hospitalized my cat instead of turning us away. If Dr. Vega would've been the primary doctor I believe it would've been different but unfortunately it is an emergency care facility so that could not happen and so many different people between doctors and techs had to be involved. Lastly the night my cat was to be released, an hour or so after I left my face to face talk after being exhausted of the communication, we get one call. Saying that my cat has EATEN gauze. And will need to be sedated AGAIN to have them removed. So many things wrong with this interaction I had with this facility. I hope they can do better.

We paid over 4000.00 to have an emergency c-section for our dog. And they didn’t send her home with any antibiotics only 2 pain meds to cause her to get mastitis so bad we had to take her to our vet who was pissed they didn’t give her any antibiotic and the mastitis made her stitches pop and now she is bleeding and they will do nothing about it to help her unless we pay for another visit at 175$ and then to pay to get the stitches fixed. If they would have done their job the 1st time we would be having this issue. This place isn’t about helping the animals it’s about seeing how much they can make on you trying to save your dogs life because it’s an emergency. Sad

Today's date is 1/18/2024. The time was approximately 9:45pm. Called them to find out how much to have our dog put down late at night because he was suffering and couldn't get up. They told us it would be around $400 to have him put down and cremated. I told them I didn't have enough money right at the moment but we could pay half upfront and then pay the rest the next day. They told us we had to have all the money upfront in order to help us and if we really needed them to take care of it tonight we should go bother our friends and family to give us the money to take care of it. REALLY? RIDICULOUS!!!! Not even willing to help a family in need of their services in an end of life situation. I'm a licensed master electrician and have my own business and I'm always willing to work with people who have financial difficulties and have asked if they could pay me over time. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! THEY DON'T HAVE ANY COMPASSION AT ALL! THEY'RE NOT HUMANE AT ALL! NO ONE SHOULD EVER TAKE THEIR ANIMALS TO THIS PLACE AT ALL! AND DON'T ASK ME TO CALL YOU AND TALK ABOUT MY REVIEW! MY REVIEW STANDS AS IT IS AND I WILL NOT REMOVE OR CHANGE MY OPINION! IN FACT, IM' STILL PERTURBED AT THE FACT THAT WANTED AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY TO HELP MY WIFE'S MORKY BACK IN OCTOBER OF 2022 WHEN HE ENDED UO WITH DIABETES, BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD WE NURSED HIM BACK TO HEALTH WITH GOD'S HELP ON OUR OWN! THIS PLACE AHOULD BE SHUT DOWN BECAUSE OF THEIR UNWILLINGNESS TO HELP ANIMALS IN NEED AND THE FACT THAT THEY CHARGE AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY IN ORDER TO "TRY" TO HELP YOU!

Yesterday we had to finally have our cat Carrot Top put down. The cancer took its toll on him. The staff were so caring and understanding and genuine with both us and him. We both were a mess and they were so compassionate about our feelings. We adopted him almost 15 years ago. He loved to play cat games on his tablet and watch kitty videos. He was an indoor cat, but was allowed to sit outside on the front porch on the beach beside me, but never allowed to try and get off of the beach or He lost his beach privileges the next day. He never met a woman he didn't love. He was my best kitty friend and slept with me every night and loved to watch Tom & Jerry cartoons in the afternoon. When I was sick, he was always right beside me. My heart is in a million pieces, but I know we gave him the best life possible.

We had an emergency today with our four-legged furbaby, Rexmore today. He been had been coughing the day before, then today, trouble catching his breath and panting heavily. My daughter and I rushed him to MountainView Animal Emergency. The entire staff was incredible. They were extremely caring, comforting and considerate of our emotions for our little guy. What we didn’t want to do was admit, even to ourselves, was that our little guy was getting worse much faster than we thought possible. He was taken back and given oxygen and once a little calm, we were able to see him for a few minutes. Once we were taken back to the exam room, the situation with Rexmore was explained to us step by step. They needed to check his lungs, but before they could, his big/little heart stopped. To say when we’re told, we totally lost it. The Mountain View staff was so comforting to us during this extremely hard time. The doctor who was working on Rexmore came and spoke with us about what would come next. Explaining everything, giving us time to process everything that being explained to us. This doctor was so understanding, so compassionate, she listened to our questions and concerns, always sympathetic. We want her to know that we greatly appreciate her compassion and help today. We also want to thank the whole phenomenal staff at Mountain View. All of you helped to ease our transition with Rexmore. Many Thanks from the Brown, Hill-Minor family

Recently had to put down my dog. She was very old and had a hard time walking. She stopped eating and drinking and became incontinent, so my family decided it was time. We brought her here and the staff were very considerate and intentional. Nothing alleviates the pain of losing your pet but the staff here did an amazing job to make the process as easy as possible.

On Saturday December 16th, our family dog had reached her end. Our vet was closed until Monday. Our dog Twinkle was no longer eating, drinking, could barely move. Thank God our sons were home from college…the staff were wonderful, kind, empathetic…they gave us a room to spend time with her, the staff even brought a basket of snacks, Twinkle couldn’t eat. She had a wonderful life, over 14 years old…our boys n her grew up together. This was such a traumatic event, but the staffs kindness meant everything to our family. Twinkle left this earth surrounded by her family, surrounded by love, the staff encouraged this. Dr. Graves was so empathetic…and put my family at ease. Thank you—all the staff—for your kindness.

Our elderly dog had a drastic decline over the Thanksgiving holiday. We finally decided it was his time to cross the Rainbow Bridge. No one was open, and mobile vets were incredibly cost prohibitive. The Mountain View staff was exceptionally welcoming, empathetic, caring during the process, giving us as much time as we needed to say "goodbye" to our beloved family member. We buried our dog on our acreage in West VA, the land he roamed all his life. We just received a sympathy card from Mountain View, signed by numerous staff members. A very thoughtful touch.

I cannot say enough good things about Mountain View. I brought my Spanish Greyhound in after she ran off into the woods and came back with a large wound on her back. Despite being at capacity when I called, they fit us in for triage and determined her situation was indeed urgent.Sure, I was there for around 6 hours, but I was kept well informed of what was going on and as an ER setting, I wasn't surprised at the time it took. She was actually seen fairly quickly after we got there so that time included her examination, tests, and x-rays.The tech on that Saturday evening (I didn't get her name, unfortunately) brought me water when she heard I had been sick in the parking lot (stress!) and was very sweet and gentle with my dog, bringing her a blanket to make her comfortable on the floor during the initial wait. Dr. Weimar saw Maya that night and explained everything thoroughly to me.She ended up being hospitalized and I received a call that next morning at around 5 am during the handover to see if I wanted to go through with a more invasive (and expensive) procedure. Since the cause of her injury was unknown, it was hard for the vets to tell the extent of the internal damage. Dr. Weimar informed me that Maya was stable so I decided to skip that procedure. I felt horrible thinking I wasn't doing everything I could have but she was very kind and reassuring.Later on in the morning on Sunday I called again and subsequently received several more updates throughout the day. Every time I called I was connected to the ICU right away and always had a thorough report from either Dr. Smith or a tech. Maya began eating, all her follow-up tests were normal, and she was cleared for release that evening. I was worried about her crashing once I brought her home so I asked that they keep her one more night and they said that was fine. I picked her up Monday morning and was given super detailed discharge papers detailing the meds and their schedule as well as when to see our regular vet.It has been a week now since the accident and Maya is as good as new. I'm still lifting her on and off the bed and keeping her on the leash inside and out but she wants to run and jump like normal. The drain was removed by a local vet on Wednesday of this past week and she remarked how well the stitches were healing. She's scheduled to have the stitches removed next weekend.Nobody wants to have to take their dog to the ER. It's traumatic and expensive but the amount I paid at Mountain View was well worth it. Maya had excellent care, from the front desk staff to the techs and vets. It's truly a place filled with passionate animal lovers. Sometimes you find people skills are lacking in vet med but I was treated with kindness by everyone I encountered and always felt informed of my options (and without judgment). I feel fortunate that this happened to be the closest vet ER because it was definitely one of the best!Thank you, thank you to everyone at Mountain View from me and Maya!
