People there are nice but the market seems badly stocked. Refrigerated section designated as health food is almost completely empty and is apparently not being restocked. This seems like a chronic problem there - I suspect this market, or Weis in general, is losing profits. Since no manager was on duty and the customer service desk was closed (at 6:30 p.m. on a week night!) I only got a half hearted explanation. In other words, no one knows why items are out of stock. As others have noted it's very depressing to see everyone checking out their groceries. I leave feeling depressed and angry. Customers are the last thing on their mind; profits clearly are most important.

Sunday 11/27/22 1040 am. Such a sad day in society where there are 14 cash registers in the store with employees, walking around everywhere and loading shelving up and standing in the front, watching people self check out. Of the 14 cash registers only three are set up for employees to run groceries through like a normal grocery store, where they do the scanning and bagging. There was not a single employee working the cash registers. Of the 14 cash registers eight were being used by customers, scanning and bagging their own stuff at the time that I went through the line for a check out. Of the eight people scanning and bagging their own stuff half of them had large carts completely full of groceries, and they were doing all the work themselves as the employees were just standing around chatting at the front. I can't imagine the amount of jobs that were lost due to them doing it this way. It is not like they have a Covid issue anymore because that has been over for a year. As far as stocking of items in the store, they are usually better than the other local store (Martins) close to here and I think that is due to the fact that the other store just gets more customers. If I need to get something quick, I will come here. But I do my regular grocery shopping at the competitor. The service there and quality of the fruits and vegetables at the other store is considerably better than the fruits and vegetables from here. Also, the selection at the competitor store is significantly larger. The only reason why the store got a three rating was because of the cash register area. Otherwise I would've given it a four-star.

I went to this store last year and was interrogated about not wearing a mask when I was having a panic attack. Now my fiancé just went today and was kicked out by a random employee for not wearing a mask. I called and the girl who answered the phone said they don’t have a mask policy. I was harassed by a woman in the Deli with gray hair who threatened to call the cops on me and were pretty sure it’s the same woman.

I have an essential job so my availability to go to the grocery store is limited. With that said, I needed to go to Weis (Shank Farm Way Hagerstown) to get lunch meat . The Deli is closed, you can get pre cut lunch meat in their to go case. It was 11:30am the to go case had ham and hard salami. There was 2 employees in the deli and when I asked if more meats were going to be put in the togo case I was told "yes, around 3:00pm." so I decide instead of going back to the store at 3:00pm I would just buy prepackaged lunch meat, I was not surprised to see that was VERY limited as well. I'm not understanding why the deli is closed, the fresh meat dept is open. The deli employees have way less contact with customers than the cashiers.

The employees have been doing a great job of keeping the store stocked during the virus .

My brother and I came for groceries. Stopped first at the deli. Was greeted (not nicely) by the employee yelling up from the hot food that she’d be there when she was done making pizzas. We waited 5 minutes and she made no effort to help us so we went to get our other things and come back. When we came back 45 minutes later and now she was making coffee. She hollered that she’d be with us in a minute. Few minutes later she came to the deli and took his order (not removing old

I came to this Weiss for the first time due to traffic patterns. I went to the self checkout get about 5 items. The register did not recognize my card so I couldn't finish my transaction until a cashier came to help. The only cashier that could help was occupied and other self checkout kiosks were lighting up. No one else came to help. She eventually cleared the light and I hurriedly paid for the items. It was then I realized I paid with the incorrect tender. I wanted the cashier to help but she hadn't gotten to the other lights nor had she she finished with her initial customer. I found my way to customer service to return the items so I can purchase them with the correct tender. The woman there initially could not understand what I needed then she told me she couldn't help me. I was surprised that they don't do returns nor did she have any suggestions for what I could do. At this moment I became irritated and headed towards the door only to overhear her tell the customer behind me that she couldn't help her either. I advise Weiss to hire people who can actually or will actually do the job. This lady was not at the customer service counter when I got there nor was she helping the front. How is customer service not able to service the customer?

I have always received assistance, information, and real willingness to help find or order something I want or can't find. Weis folks are always helpful and polite! Thank you!

love the deals although they may want to review their policy on cell phones and smartwatches with their cashiers...was really rude for my cashier to answer a personal call and talk while ringing me up

I wish I could give this store zero stars. I come here a few times a week because it is convenient. Every time I come all three hot soups are empty. They 're supposed to be available until 8 pm but here I am at 4:20 and all three are gone. If you can't put more out then change the damn sign. Last week I came in on Monday to get lottery tickets and was told the counter was closed at 6 pm because someone had to leave early. The girl closing the counter( I was there just moments after 6 pm) told me to go to 7 eleven. This store sucks, I wish the Weis on Rt 40 was closer.

I am 67 years old and have lived in Hagerstown for the last 10 years. I previously lived in Wheaton, MD and shopped for groceries at Giant. I know these kids today only get part-time hours and I'm sure they have reasons to complain. But they certainly don't direct any ill feelings toward the customers. They are exceedingly polite, helpful and respectful. I certainly do appreciate their attitudes and plan to continue shopping at Weis at Shank Farm Way. Also as a veteran, I get 5%break on my bill.
