Thievery. ... Never will rent from Budget ever again. I rented a defective truck, which literally took hours to try to fill up. Unfortunately, you will not discover this defect until you are hours away from your rental location, and it will probably be outside of business hours.

If I could give them zero stars I would. The proprietor told me my rate was too low for a weekend, but couldn't adjust it because I rented through aarp.

Made a reservation in advance, the truck wasn't there. Had to go to a U-Haul and paid more to get it day of. Just go with U-haul folks, book it ahead of time. Budget quotes lower prices but that doesn't mean much if there isn't a truck to pick up....

Today I was notified less than 24 hours before my move that budgets online reservation service overbooked their Halethorpe, MD location and they would not have a truck for me. They said i had to call your 1-(800) number to cancel or change because they don't have the ability to do so. Customer Service wanted me to pay $50 to cancel the reservation within 48 hours even though they didn't have the truck available. The only solution they offered was to change the location of truck pickup to one further south of my pickup. This forced their system to charge me for two days instead of one. After 3 hours of being on the phone, the only solution offered was for me to rent the truck for two days and then call next week and request one day be reimbursed. Even though my original reservation was for only one day. I am currently serving active duty in the US Air Force and me and my fellow service members move frequently. At this current moment I would not recommend any service member to ever do business with Budget Truck Rental after my experience today.

It's 10:40am and the are still closed, the truck reservation was for 10am. There are multiple people with me that also want the one truck on the lot, and everyone has confirmation numbers and is calling customer service. The is also the second confirmation made after they cancelled the first on me via phone last night. Boo!!!
