If I could leave zero stars, I would. The line to get the car was 45 minutes because there was only one employee serving a very long line. The agent lied to me and said my insurance wouldn't cover any accident I had if it related to weather and the snow. Nobody helped with the return of the car and I was told I had to stand in line again to return. My final receipt came 24 hours later and it was $16 more than I was told it would be. I will pay more to rent from any other company in the future.

The counter staff was very courteous. However, every car has its own quirks and it would’ve been nice for someone to walk outside with us and explain where the gas tank filler area is how the defrosters work. It would’ve taken about a minute and a half and would’ve made our rental 100 times better. The car was excellent. No problems at all but a two minute refresher on the specific car that you rent would’ve been nice.

We had a poor experience on our previous Budget rental at BWI, but this rental was back to the excellent experience we have had with them. The vehicle was fantastic and it was an easy pickup and drop off process. The drop off was a little confusing due to the snow, the Budget side was closed and I had to do a lap around the facility to see the sign that said return Budget cars to Avis not he opposite side...not a big deal, and worked fine. Anyway, the F150 was incredible. I've had one in the past that was great and this one was the same, I really didn't want to turn it in.

Rental agent would not remove the insurance, insisted it was part of a package. My Amex charges me $25 per Rental for elevated coverage. I was three hours late and no other agency had cars. Reluctantly, I took the car. It was filthy inside and out. Never again Budget.I RESPONDED TO Budgets reply and clearly they chose not to address any of the issues.AGENT REFUSED TO REMOVE LDWVEHICLE WAS FILTHYTheir response:Dear WILLIAM MCMASTERSThank you for taking time to contact us regarding your experience with Budget in BALTIMORE MD APO.the extra charges are LDW 216.93 and Gas service option 52.58 I have attached your Rental agreement to this email showing where you accepted these services. At this time these charges are validPlease let us know if we may be of any further assistance.Sincerely, AutumnRepresentative | Customer ServiceUPDATE: Customer Service credited me for he 24.99 I paid my CC for duplicate insurance. So maybe BUDGET gets another Star or two.....but the agent at the counter is still a zero....

After my recent experience with Budget, I don’t foresee myself utilizing them again. I paid for a luxury/premium car but what I ended up with was a Toyota Rav4. The Rav4 would have served my needs but I discovered when I first got on the road that the car was pretty rickety and had 70,000 miles on it. It felt like it needed some major maintenance and not at all like a “premium” experience that I thought I had paid for. After getting to my destination where my family lived, I decided it best to not use the rental car except for just the return to the airport. One day later as I am headed back to the airport driving a car that doesn’t feel safe, the digital speedometer suddenly disappears and in its place a giant maintenance message turns on. I had no choice but to continue on so that I made my morning flight.Luckily I was able to make it back to the car return safely but to keep the rest of my story abridged, I had a terrible interaction with the Budget representative checking in the cars. Without me even having a moment yet to discuss anything to him about the car maintenance issues, he was incredibly rude and you could tell he hated his job. Truly awful experience all around.

My rating would have been much better if I wasn't charged $3.55 for fuel. I was diligent in making sure I filled the tank at a Shell station that was no more than 3 miles from the rental car facility. The closest station I could find. It's only $3.55 but IMO speaks volumes regarding the integrity of the agency. My experience with the rental desk, etc was fine. The car had 50,000 miles on it and wasn't in great condition and was a little dirty. I'm willing to overlook those things but the nickel and dime treatment really bothers me.

Avoid!!!! They gave me a damaged vehicle. The phone number on their website is NOT associated to Budget at BWI but a call center far far away so they don’t care about you and will NOT help you. You don’t matter to them. You go here you will fall victim like me. They will not respond when you submit an online issue ticket.I reserved an EV or hybrid as a mystery vehicle and they gave me a full-size gas eating truck damaged and blood. So gross. They don’t care about you and this is a reflection of the staff, management, and the company. Run away.Their publicly available working hours is false as the staff abandoned their desk at 10pm before my reservation was set. They threatened to lock me into the airport parking lot. So much abuse and I will NOT go back.

I arrived at the airport at 1:30 pm but had to wait until 2:50 pm to get my car. By the time I had gotten half way through the line, I was asked to move to the Avis line (and had to start at the back). I returned the car over an hour early. The Budget staff member directed me to put the keys on the dash and pointed me toward the shuttle. I asked if I needed to do anything else and they said, "No." Later, I got a bill for a full extra day. The check-in time on my bill was for five hours after I had dropped off my car. By that time (the time indicated as my car return time), my family had taken a shuttle and a train to an entirely different city, checked into our hotel, and eaten dinner. I called the help line and was on it for 40 minutes but did not receive confirmation of a refund. I have photographic and phone GPS evidence of my families location during these times, as well as train ticket stubs and hotel check-in information.

I know this is a low cost car rental company but no one ever cleaned the inside of car since previous renter. Dirty windows, dirt in back. Looked like the rear bumper cover was loose. Spent the first part of our road trip Windex-ing the inside of the windows

CAUTION WITH THIS LOCATIONOne of the employees at this location failed to check my car in properly. Doesn't sound like a huge deal, but...The next renter totaled this car, and Budget is trying to pin it on me. I had to threaten legal action to get Budget to even release any records about the car. This allowed me to launch my own investigation and I found the police incident report showing that the other renter was in possession of the vehicle. Budget's customer service is absolutely terrible, and I've spent almost a month of daily communication trying to get the situation resolved... and it's still not over. They also never even alerted me by phone or email that the car wasn't returned for 51 days (I only drove it for 2), and tried to charge me for 16 of those days when the car was sitting at their facility (it probably didn't get checked in properly AGAIN).Make sure you take multiple photos at drop off. Maybe with the employees in the photo. Maybe even a video of the process. Get paper receipts and get them signed.Better yet, don't rent with Budget. I get a huge discount through my employer and I will gladly pay 2x-3x more to use someone else in the future.

Showed up at 10:30pm and they had a sign up directing customers to Avis for assistance. Walked over to Avis and they had twenty people waiting for help with only ONE agent helping. I’ve been standing in line for 20 minutes already and there are still 15 people ahead of me. And six people behind me. Terrible.

Extremely courteous and caring staff. I left my license at the counter and the agent ran all the way to the exit to give it to me as I was about to pull out. I had used the other company next door to them (Hertz). They were extremely rude and outright discriminated against me. I made a complaint last year and I see the same manger that commuted the offense is still working there. It Shows that Hertz doesn't take discrimination seriously when staff commits it against their customers. Ever since then I’ve been renting from Budget and I have no regrets. They have the best selection of cars, and treat their customers with dignity and respect. I actually came into town for a funeral and they totally helped lift to my mood. Thank you so much Budget!

really, really love this company. They do their best for their clients, and fix anything that needs to be fixed. Would definitely rent from them again.

Car Rental from Hell.We arrived at the BWI Avis/Budget Counter at 8pm to see a long line of patrons in wait. Curiously none of the other rental car agencies had anything near the crowd at Avis/Budget. Then things just went down hill. At times there was one agent behind the counter, then two or three then back to one. But the speed of the line seemed disconnected to the number of agents available. We were in that line for two hours. When it was finally our turn we were told that there were no more compacts left and we had a choice: a minivan or a truck. That's it.We chose the minivan and went outside to get it. This began another long wait. There was nobody out there. Finally someone came with the van, put it in park and left. We got in and were faced with our next dilemma: how to get out of the parking lot. We drove to the gate. There were hand written signs on the window telling us not to use the QR code. But there was nobody there to let us out. We drove around looking for another possible exit to no avail. Finally we saw a guy in a red uniform slowly walking in the direction of the exit gate. He seemed in no hurry but we were boiling by then. He finally got in the gatehouse and let us out.Over two and a half hours. Start to finish. We're never using Budget/Avis again.
