Good selections and options but I seldom shop here because the prices are extremely high! You can find the same items at literally more than $2 cheaper elsewhere - per item! And the hot food bar was closed at 7:45 pm when they have posted hours until 9 pm!

I swore this specific location off years ago. I can only hope one day it closes and something worthwhile takes its place. I visited recently being in the immediate area.The fresh food quality (meats, fish) is abysmal. The fish I bought smells and tastes like its been thawed, packaged, or displayed for days past its spoiling point.I have returned “fresh” food back to the store many times. Stay far far away from ANYTHING sold at a closeout/discount. If it seems like a good deal and it is not specifically advertised in their weekly flyer you may be in for a major disappointment. This location seemingly would rather sell spoiled produce/meat/chicken/fish if it meant they didnt have to throw it away and lose all money on it.

Do NOT use the FedEx drop off here, they will open your package and steal what’s inside if they think there’s something valuable. We recently had this happen with a very sensitive package that was medically related (but worthless to anybody else). It was opened, and the lab received a partially opened package with missing components. We have been working with this lab for 8 years through FedEx and nothing like this has ever happened until we dropped off a package at this location (our first and last time). Customers beware, find a real FedEx or a drop box.

If you're a delivery driver reading this review, please refrain from visiting this Safeway.I was completing a Shop and Deliver order for a customer from this location. As part of our instructions we receive when checking out from this particular merchant, regardless of location, there is a specific step that needs to be fulfilled by the cashiers for completing checkout that is part of the contract Safeway has in the business dealings with the delivery company I work for. While I've done this without problem at this particular Safeway location in the past, the cashier I encountered today refused to do so, claiming they do not do that and it's their store policy they do not complete that step anymore. That is a violation of Safeway's contract with my delivery company and is an attempt to defraud both the customer and my delivery company. Despite my repeated insistence, the cashier refused to follow through and the manager, Dion, came over and said the same thing before suspending the transaction and taking my customer's Shop and Deliver order hostage. He kept arguing that it was their store policy to not follow through that particular step without using an alleged card that doesn't exist and that my delivery company was already aware. I did not believe him whatsoever and upon being stuck on the phone and being disconnected twice, my delivery company eventually confirmed they had no such record of any such policy for that particular Safeway, cancelled the delivery, and opened a formal complaint to their escalations team against this Safeway for contract violations. Not only that but due to this unnecessary fiasco, a second delivery for the same customer ended up being cancelled by the customer themselves, as that order was sitting and spoiling in my car, and overall lost a significant chunk of money I was meant to earn from those two deliveries. The staff at this Safeway was completely unprofessional and Dion is an incompetnet, lying manager who should not be allowed to work in such a position, as under no circumstances is that how you conduct customer service nor treat employees of other companies you and all other Safeways have a business relationship with.

I came to purchase a birthday cake. Ms. Cathy in the bakery was very rude. I was standing at the bakery waiting for assistance, she turned the lights off. I asked if they were closed. She said the evening person called off. I asked if she could help me with pulling a cake from behind the counter. She said no, she couldn’t sell the cakes on display because the cake decorator doesn’t work on Tuesdays or Wednesday’s. All of this was said in a snarky manner. I told her I didn’t want any issues just needed a cake. I left and went to customer service to see if they could find me a different person. They called back to the bakery. Ms. Cathy then stated the cakes weren’t fresh.Terrible experience and very poor manners all on behalf of Ms. Cathy!

This is the WORST Safeway I have ever ordered from/shopped in. I’m a big fan of order pickup for the convenience, but every time I order from this location- it’s inconvenient. My last state was today when I received expired meats and moldy strawberries in my grocery pick up. They also didn’t bag any of my produce and they threw my bread underneath a carton of chicken stock. Customer service was horrible and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Save your time, their prices are too high to be this ignorant.

I just left this Safeway and had an absolutely horrible experience. Annie the manager on duty is so unprofessional it's unreal. I asked her a valid question which absolutely was a good question because I've never had an issue like this in any other store with any other manager I do it all the time and she stood there and just stared at me like I wasn't worth a reply. Every other store if I have not had my food stamps card on me if I present ID and a picture of the card I have been able to enter it manually. Now in some stores they will not let you do that if you have a credit or debit card but as far as the food stamps card it's never been an issue. Like I said she lied and told me it was a store policy and I asked her well when did that start because I've literally never had an issue with it and she said she's been working at Safeway for the past 15 years mind you the store she works at has not even been opened that long so I don't know if she transferred or what and said that it's always been a store policy which is the lie because I Court called corporate and they said that it's either manager discretion or it could be a store policy but other managers have let me do it in the store before so it obviously was manager discretion which I don't see what the problem is if I'm providing ID and a picture of the card. After I explained all that to her she continued to stare at me like I was d*** even if I am wrong I shouldn't be treated that way I deserve a reply I'm a paying customer. So if you want good customer service don't go to the Safeway in Hanover when Annie the manager is on.

The store has lost that personal touch of customer service. You have to use the self checkout I the evenings. When I go, the staff are on their cellphones, not even watching to help or offer service. It's a shame. The prices have gone up too.

This trip we couldn’t find what we needed. It seemed like they were running low on stock. We went in for ice cream, but the selections were limited.However, this store was nice and clean. It wasn’t very crowded during this time. The people were nice and we were in and out.Some of the stuff in the store were more expensive than other places.We will visit again because of the nice atmosphere, quality, and customer service.

Ordered an online pickup order from this store. When I got to the store, I marked that I was here with my spot number but the order never came out. I tried calling the pick up number but no answer. After 15 minutes, I left. About an hour later, when I was home, I received an email saying my order was picked up. I reached out to customer service who said someone from the store would contact me within a day. I never received a call and my credit card was charged for the order. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. The Albertsons brand is usually top notch so I was really disappointed. Hopefully my credit card company will look out for me since the grocery store will not. Do not recommend.

I get it short staffed... The entrance by flowers (cart area) is disgusting... I, the paying customer, finds this unacceptable, especially before purchasing food. The Crofton location is immaculate and spotless with better customer service.

BIG. Clean. Bright.Overpriced. Empty. LONG lines.Who do they think they are kidding? something like 22 registers and even on Holidays I've never seen them have more than 2 open at any given time. And now they added in sekf check out to that they can cut it down to one overworked employee by making customers fumble through ringing up and bagging their own groceries for no price decrease on these sorry software systems.Avoid especially on evenings and weekends. (and honestly just avoid the rest of the time, while you're at it. God knows we ain't wanting for grocery store variety in this area! Pretty much just head in any direction and you'll end up at a much better place with in 5 miles.You're welcome in advance.

Online search said it had a product I needed. I drove 45 minutes there after calling and being on hold then being hung up on. And surprise, they didn't have the product in questions. The associate trying to help me was very nice and went out of his way to try to help me locate the product in question but to no avail

The layout felt weird to me and the self checkout was atrocious. I prefer self checkout and I worked at a self checkout for years so I feel pretty generally comfortable with using them, but this on gave me non stop issues, it was slow and not very user friendly. Maybe it was broken or something but jeez. Got what we needed but it took way longer than I would have liked.

Very nice and well kept grocery store. My husband loved the special meat selection where it was 4 packs for $19. Mix and match fish, beef, sausage, chicken.
