“I love this place!! My usual vet recently closed, and it’s hard to find a new vet you can trust. I found Village Vet of Urbana, got an appointment for the next day (on a Saturday woo) and everyone there was amazing!! The whole visit took just over 15 minutes, they were kind, gentle and thorough. Very reasonably priced!! My cat loved them, which is honestly a blessing. I will be coming back!!”
“Our pets have received care at Glade Valley since 2018. Some of the staff have been there longer than we have, which speaks to the culture and climate. Many of them have pets and draw from their experiences to provide empathetic care for pets and their families. We weathered many changes together, including COVID pandemic, because of their innovative approaches. Over the years, they have maintained a strong community network to help us connect to surgeons, a animal vision specialist, end of life care for our 14 year companion, boarding and grooming services, and nutrition support. They’ve evaluated the care and services that they provide and how to best meet patients’ needs with available resources. In addition to remodeling the reception area, they upgraded their digital patient care system and portal. Durng that time, they trained staff in shifts around prescheduled service, as not to disrupt the flow and provision of care. Their actions demonstrate a willingness to grow, an understanding that some needs extend beyond their facilities’ capacity, and that families in distress need a place to turn. In so doing, they demonstrate genuine commitment and compassion. They’ve kept in touch with a local vibe, even in the midst of construction and traffic expansion in the surrounding community. My family is grateful!”
“Kingsbrook is the best!!! I’ve been taking my dogs here for over a year. They are the most caring, compassionate and knowledgeable staff I’ve ever experienced at a vet. Everyone from the front desk, to the technicians and of course the doctors genuinely care about my dogs and their well-being. Thank you for taking such amazing care of my three dogs<3.”

“I have been with Compassion since we adopted our first dog , Ginger, 10 years ago. Since then, we adopted a 2nd, Millie, who vibed like a chill old drunken sailor. There have been many calls/texts, sick visits, medications, and consultations within that time and I can honestly say every single contact has been nothing but top notch expertise and family friendly service from everyone there.
We had to put Millie down this past November, and as expected the staff were so kind, gentle and accommodating.
Keep up the great work.
Ginger says namaste (she’s all yoga vibe ?)”
“They may not be the cheapest place around, but the limited staff is the same staff that always sees your pup. So for someone like me that is at the vet at least 10 times a year they are great with her. They know her name, personality and now that they are letting owners back into the office with the pets I can truly see how much she loves them when she arrives.”
“My family has been using them for a long time. I got my first puppy and so I am taking the lead on his vet care. I have a billion questions and everyone there is very kind and very knowledgeable. They get back to you in a timely manner. And always treat there patients kindly.”
“Really positive first visit with my very anxious dog. The vet tech was superb, you can tell she adores animals. Dr. took the needed time and went super slow so as not to spook her. She answered all my questions thoroughly. Filled my prescriptions with enough refills to last until my dog's next well visit - a new experience for me - I'm used to having to call constantly for medication refills, this is going to be so much nicer for a script with several refills! But most of all: I paid and setup my next appointment IN THE EXAM ROOM! Total game changer. With a nervous pup, I cannot over emphasize how great it was to leave and directly take my dog to the car, without waiting in the lobby for ages to pay, trying to keep my pooch calm and managable, and get my meds and set up the next appointment! REDUCED ALL THE STRESS ON US BOTH!”
“My kitten had a complication from her spay that was done at a different clinic, and this office squeezed us in on a Saturday to help her. Dr. Mecenas was incredibly kind and caring toward both my kitten and me, which meant so much during a stressful situation.
I was nervous about checking out and seeing the bill, but he was very respectful about cost and didn’t charge for anything unnecessary. I truly appreciated the compassion, transparency, and care. I’m so grateful we found this practice.”
“Neighborhood Veterinary Associates (NVA) has cared for my 6-year-old Boston Terrier since he was a puppy, and I can’t say enough good things about them. When he showed signs of an ear infection, I booked a next-day sick visit online with no hassle. They diagnosed it quickly and got him treated right away—he felt better fast. The team is kind, thorough, and never pushy. It’s obvious they genuinely know and care about their patients.”
“I couldn't recommend Frederick Veterinary Center more! From the very first phone call, I've been met with kindness and compassion every step of the way from each of the team members. A year ago, I brought them a new rescue pup who was fearful and skittish and in need of two major surgeries shortly after he'd been brought in from a life on the streets. He was not an easy pup, yet the entire team has been so patient and welcoming of us every time we arrive. Dr. Yousef and Dr. Pooya took excellent care of him (and of me) as we worked through intense surgeries and recoveries. They provide the latest research on how to navigate his condition and make sure I understand all the components in keeping him healthy. I appreciate their thoughtful consideration of his physical and social needs as they sorted through his treatment options and their genuine excitement for his healing. I took my pup on a hike last month, something I thought he'd never be able to do, and am so grateful for the care that led him to this point.”
“Our new kittens LOVE Frederick Cat Vet! Great staff greets you when you arrive. Morgan was so good with our guys during her initial exam and when Dr. Karg was examining them. They definitely know how to make cats (and owners) feel comfortable.”
“Good people, quick in and out, good with the pets and not pushy on upsells. Honest people who will work with you on life's roadblocks. And most importantly: NOT OWNED BY A PRIVATE EQUITY COMPANY.”
“We've been using Dr. Skipton for many, many, years. He is an incredible vet and truly cares for the animals. I can't say enough great things about him.”
“When we had to leave the country, my biggest concern was my cat. She is family, and I was deeply worried about making sure everything would be done properly so she could travel safely with us. The team at Opossum Pike Veterinary Clinic was truly wonderful throughout the entire process. They guided us with patience, clarity, and genuine care through all the documentation, even with a very tight timeline.”

“We bring all three of our dogs here for vet care, grooming, and daycare and have zero complaints about any of the services provided.
We have a reactive pup who has difficulties with new people. The vet staff at Greenbriar have been outstanding. They are ALL so patient and caring, even despite our girl being absolutely terrified of them. They are always happy to accommodate her so she is as comfortable as possible.
Our Rottweiler also comes for day boarding and gets SO excited when we pull up to the Greenbriar parking lot! She can be a bit shy and standoffish, so seeing how eager she is to hug every single staff member in the building really warms my heart. We previously had her at a different daycare and she hated it, we thought she just didn’t like daycare- turns out she just didn’t like THAT daycare.
Lastly, we have a Cavalier puppy who goes to Greenbriar for grooming. They do a fantastic job with him, and are also very understanding of his puppy energy/antics. We just got him neutered there as well, and he is recovering wonderfully.
I highly recommend Greenbriar for daycare, grooming, and vet care. Seeing how much their staff love our dogs, and more importantly- how much our dogs LOVE them, says it all.”
“Great and friendly staff and doctor! I have been bringing my dog here since he was a puppy and they always provide top notch care and make sure to answer any questions we have.”
“I wanted to share this.
We recently had to put our dog Waffles to sleep, he was 16 years old and incurring heart failure.
Not that there’s ever “better timing” to lose your pet, but we had family vacation planned since six months prior and we were to leave the following day. While on vacation, I read on a grief forum about a man whom had to also put his fur baby to sleep due to heart failure as well, and that he got an ink blot of the paw print the day they said goodbye. I had never heard of this, and it made me more upset as I shared this with my husband that I really wish I had known this was something people do so we could have done the same. Well, upon arrival back home from vacation there was a letter that came in the mail from Damascus Vet Hospital. My husband took it inside to read, and as I was still unloading bags, he abruptly came and handed it to me to read. He didn’t want me to wait- I opened the letter, and a beautiful card.. on the front “with sympathy for your loss” with a photo of a heart and silhouette of a dog and cat… on the inside- I dropped my bags and immediately broke into tears. Feeling emotions of solemness, but utmost gratitude and happiness because, above a cursive writing of our fur baby’s name, “Waffles” was his ink blot paw print. I am forever grateful to have this, as it wasn’t something we could have thought of in the time of chaos and confusion of decision making to put our pet out of his suffering… Waffles paw print is kept in a special place. A gesture so small and perhaps insignificant to many, moved me so deeply and I couldn’t be more thankful.

“After being sent around to a few different emergency vets, I was so worried about my baby Begonia dog. When we finally got to CARE, they had the knowledge/resources to accurately diagnose what was happening (a blockage in her stomach) and were able perform the surgery she needed. The staff were kind, communicative, and patient with my questions. They even texted after Begonia was discharged to follow up. I found CARE to be full of competent and compassionate people, and I’m very grateful.”
“Dr.Wormell is really kind & empathetic. Her staff are always nice and helpful. My dog has passed but I was really grateful that my vet before her who was no longer the right fit for us recommended her to me.”
“Had my two three year old kitties checked out here. The doctor and nurses were all patient and had no trouble answering my questions. I'll be back if I'm still in the area!”
“I have been going to Dr. Hawley for 6 plus years and have had nothing but the absolute best for our Benese Mountain Dog. The staff here are amazing. Dr. Hawley is excellent with mine even with his extreme anxiety at appointments. He never overcharges and never has me get unneeded things, procedures. Even suggested I wait one time on XRays when my boy was limping ( because he would of been required to be put to sleep for them) we waited and two weeks later he was perfectly fine with no limp. I know if I would have taken him anywhere else I would have been socked for a grand at least. I appreciate the care at this office and although I know retirement will be someday for Dr. Hawley I regret it already for us ( not him).”
“My 17yo chihuahua passed away over the weekend, so I brought in her unfinished food, medication, and a few other items to donate this week. The staff at the shelter were friendly and kind. I greatly appreciate their empathy, and that the food and medication won't go to waste. I also appreciate all the wonderful kitties and dogs in the office that let me give them some love. While I still feel very sad to no longer have my little baby chihuahua, taking my donations to the Humane Society helped me feel better. I'm sure I'll be back with more donations, and hopefully to adopt another companion when I'm ready.”
“I have never seen a vet more caring then Ms Mullinex. When a vet takes the time out of her evening and talks to you on the phone about your sick dog is absolutely amazing. She has saved my dog so many times with all his illness I wouldn’t want anyone else treating him.”
“Had to go for bloodwork for my dog. The staff are really helpful, honest and I felt they took my concerns into consideration. From front desk to techs to vet - knowledgeable & understanding. Can recommend using their practice and I will be returning in February! Thank you!!”
“I've brought both of my pups here, one for stomach issues (which was solved) and one for a follow up paw webbing ripping. Both doctors were kind and offered the best possible treatment for my babies, they also don't charge an arm and a leg!!! Highly recommend.”
“Extremely happy with Green Valley Animal Hospital. I have a very anxious (COVID) dog and they are excellent with her. They are great about keeping notes and adjusting her care as needed. Boarding has been excellent. Highly recommend this vet.”
